About Matt Rhodes
Since graduating Concordia University (Irvine, California) with a Bachelor of Science (BS) and Master of Business Administration (MBA), I have been fascinated with the economy and numbers in general. Initially, I started my career in the Biomedical field working for Myriad Genetics in Sales. This is where I discovered my passion for helping others through services and solutions that improve lives. Thus, it's no coincidence that this passion has evolved into the hospitality industry. Eventually, I transitioned into the mortgage industry to help people fulfill the American Dream of home ownership. In the beginning, I worked tirelessly as a loan officer and eventually started my own real estate corporation, R&R Realty Homes, Inc. in 2010 and Hotel Mountain Resorts, LLC in 2018. This has led me to where I am now and I am honored and privileged to be your host! Welcome to Big Bear and I truly hope you enjoy your stay.

Why Matt Rhodes chose Big Bear Lake
The most differentiating factor of this property is its proximity to the Big Bear Village, the hiking trails in the beautiful mountain wilderness, and the lake marina. You are only steps away from all three, and, it's the perfect location for a weekend full of festivals, live music, bike rides, ski/snowboard trips, mountain biking, hiking, boating, fishing, shopping, and dining.
What makes this House unique
Guests have access to the large downstairs back deck and upstairs deck with a jacuzzi that invites you to enjoy the incredible views of Big Bear Lake and the surrounding woodlands in the most spectacular fashion. Also, there is a very spacious backyard for the kids enjoyment or dining with friends and family while enjoying the fresh air of the mountains.

Perfect Family Getaway
We looked tirelessly for the perfect spot to have our family gather to celebrate a late Christmas. We wanted both a space to gather and hang out at night, but also some privacy for the families with small children. We booked both upstairs and downstairs and it was perfect! We’d planned to spend a day at one of the snow parks but because there’s been a heavy snow fall a few days before we arrived, we just hung out at the cabin and the kids played, sled and made snowmen on the property. We also walked down to the village one of the days and grabbed coffee and checked out the scene. It was a quick 15-20 minute walk.
Matt was a friendly and extremely accommodating host and we would definitely book here again.
Thank you Alma! One of the most communicative and nicest guests I’ve had the privilege to communicate. Thank you for the kind words and all your feedback. Not only would I accommodate you again, I can’t wait for your next stay!! ;)
Big Bear Bird’s Eye View
A perfect winter getaway. We don’t want to go home.
Every room had windows. You could see the fresh snow fall from every room in the house. Fireplace made for a nice cozy stay. We will be back.

Thank you for a wonderful experience and sharing your home with us. We recommend this location! The owner contacted us in timely manner and provided prepared information answering nearly every question I had. Location allows self-entry which was perfect as we were arriving later in the evening. Home was spacious and clean, and no sign of animal hair. Location is indeed within walking distance to the village we used the road as our guide. The driveway is marginally steep but short and maintained so I had no issue at all. Still, if your car lacks good grip just be aware if there are serious snow or ice conditions and you are using a 2WD vehicle with. As another reviewer suggested, the jet tub does not retain water well and is not usable without a better method of plugging it up as the water drains out the closed plug. This was a minor issue and did not detract from the overall experience but I note it for the owner to consider a handyman repair. I know it's hard to compare via the internet one place from another in Big Bear Lake area but this one hit the mark and should be considered a top choice.
Very nice home, will return
The property was as advertised it was very neat and clean the location is perfect very close to the village area with shops and restaurants .
Weekend getaway with friends
The owner was very nice and easy going. The place was just like the pictures, being that is was great! Clean house with a great view of the lake. There is a bluetooth soundbar so don't bother taking a speaker. Location is walking distance from the village. I recommend leaving your car parked at home and enjoy the fresh air. Note: holiday weekends have a lot of traffic and no parking in the village. All in all, great place to stay in Big Bear.
