Disappointed in condition of the condo

Good location. Described as Retro but just old & worn! Much maintenance needed! Door knob on guest bath broken (had to retape due to old brittle tape) to keep from being locked in or out. We had to clean in order to use: laundry area, bath rugs, mattress pad (change sheet due to hole) and outside furniture (but cushions were torn). Kitchen stove burners were slow & never really hot. Old sliding glass doors had bars as locks and screens had no wheels. BBQ in Community area only 3 out of 7 burners worked. Of course these things could not be seen in the pictures shown on vrbo site. The outside landscaping and pool were very nice.

Owner's Response: All of the complaints of this tenant are superficial and will be addressed. We frequently use the property ourselves and must prioritize what we consider the most important issues. This included installation of a new air conditioner in 2011, a security system in 2015, and a new roof in 2016. The laundry area is in the outside patio, but the machines have covers. The BBQ grill in the community area is only 3 years old and works very well; the attendant stove burners are rarely used, to my knowledge. In the 35 years that we have rented this unit, we have not had other tenants complain, and we rent it yearly. We have tried to keep prices reasonable for renters, including covering utilities, despite spending considerable funds on what we have perceived as the most important issues. We will continue to enjoy it ourselves and hope that others will enjoy it as well.
