About David Comerford

Hi, I have owned a vacation home for the past 28 years. I enjoy having my son and our friends share our lovely home with us. We are outdoor enthusiasts. We love to ski, raft, hike, swim etc.. Friends love to join us at the sandy river ski house for fun, relaxation, sitting around the fire and in the kitchen making yummy meals.

David Comerford purchased this house in 2006

Why David Comerford chose Mount Hood

It is next to the river (200') with easy access to all the fun stuff to do on mount hood. Just a short 50 minute ride from Portland and we can be sitting on the porch sipping tea and listening to the sounds of the river through the large fir trees.

Overall very acceptable as a place for a mountain stay.

  • 4 of 5

Great access to many restaurants and great access to recreation. Layout works well for multiple couples privacy as bedrooms (each with a bathroom) are at opposite ends of the house. Big kitchen and two eating areas. Clean however the towels had been left wet in the washer after the last stay and smelled stale (we re-washed them). A few little improvements like paper towels, napkins and a grill would have made the stay even better (there was a small charcoal grill but the grate was missing). Nice outdoor seating areas.

Amazing Stay

  • 5 of 5

My family and I rented this house hoping for a quite and relaxing vacation and we got that and so much more. The house was very clean and organized. It was around other houses but very quite and everyone keeps to themselves. Being able to take a short walk to the river was amazing. There were 6 adults and 2 children and we had plenty of room. Everything we wanted to do was with in driving distance. The property owner was very friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Beautiful, cozy, clean

  • 5 of 5

The house is supplied with plenty of fire wood to keep cozy along with forced hot air in every room for extra comfort. The kitchen is supplied for a master chef but we kept it simple with a few frozen pizzas that we threw in the oven. If you're looking for a long stay in a wooded getaway at the bottom of Mt. Hood & with the Sandy River in the back yard then this would be your best bang for your buck. Timberline ski lodge is a great place for some eats & drinks, there's a near by shuttle that picks up every few hours (!schedule-map/c1h6a) for only $5.

Quiet, large home that is very reasonably priced!

  • 5 of 5

The home was very large for an entire family! Very quiet and peaceful. Would be such a nice place to be in the snow! Close to amenities that you might need and restaurants! Close to Mt. Hood and outdoor activities! Owner was very understanding of any requests and worked with us! Would for sure book this home again if needed!

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

The property was great. Plenty of space for us. Great kitchen. Large enough to accommodate three cooks. Close to the snow. The only thing I would recommend is receptacles inside the house for compost and recycling.

Owner's Response: Stefyni, Its nice to have a large kitchen area when there's more than 1 cook. Recycle bin is now available inside, compost container also.
