About David Comerford

Hi, I have owned a vacation home for the past 28 years. I enjoy having my son and our friends share our lovely home with us. We are outdoor enthusiasts. We love to ski, raft, hike, swim etc.. Friends love to join us at the sandy river ski house for fun, relaxation, sitting around the fire and in the kitchen making yummy meals.

David Comerford purchased this house in 2006

Why David Comerford chose Mount Hood

It is next to the river (200') with easy access to all the fun stuff to do on mount hood. Just a short 50 minute ride from Portland and we can be sitting on the porch sipping tea and listening to the sounds of the river through the large fir trees.

Fabulous Ski Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 6 enjoyed a fabulous ski vacation at Sandy River House. It is well situated for year round fun; easy to find, quiet, warm and comfortable. Good airy floor plan and kitchen was well stocked too. David was easy to work with even checking in to make sure all was going well. Everything was as promised. Highly recommend!

Location is everything.

  • 4 of 5

We spent three days and nights at Sandy River Ski House. Great experience. David is a super host. This house is in a great location to Mt. Hood and other winter activities and shopping amenities. There were, as in all rentals, two minor downsides. First, bring your own hand soap and secondly, bring your own towels. Shoot, other than those minor "speed bumps" great experience. Strong recommendation.

Great House!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay for so many reasons. Location: this house is right off Hwy 26, so easy to find and really close to restaurants and stores. Very close to government camp where we played in the snow. Warmth: Two words, central heating. The whole house was a perfect temperature without any fire building. Size: This house is much bigger than it looks like in the photos. The master bedroom is all the way on the other side of the house which would be perfect for multiple couples or in our case to give us separation from the children haha. The kitchen was fully stocked with anything you could need and there were SO MANY books and games to entertain everyone. Customer Service: David was very easy to communicate with and although we didn't have any issues I know he would have been on top of it. He even turned on the heat for us before we got there so we had a cozy warm house upon arrival. We will definitely stay there again and plan to come back in the summer because the river is right in the back yard!

Great Rental House next 2 Sandy River and Mt. Hood

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon. Amazing house, only a few minutes away from Mt. Hood, Sandy River, restaurants, bars and a grocery store. House is very quiet both inside and on the porch. Lots of DVD movies available. We had a great time, watched movies next to the chimney. Will definitely recommend it to others looking to relax, away from the city for a couple days.

Overall very acceptable as a place for a mountain stay.

  • 4 of 5

Great access to many restaurants and great access to recreation. Layout works well for multiple couples privacy as bedrooms (each with a bathroom) are at opposite ends of the house. Big kitchen and two eating areas. Clean however the towels had been left wet in the washer after the last stay and smelled stale (we re-washed them). A few little improvements like paper towels, napkins and a grill would have made the stay even better (there was a small charcoal grill but the grate was missing). Nice outdoor seating areas.

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed the house. Sorry about the towels in the washer, a new cleaning service just hired and missed those. There are cloth napkins in the kitchen drawer. paper towels are usually provided, a slight oversight by the new cleaners. The BBQ grill is located in the kitchen cabinet, I will add this info to the house instructions. Next time please call me so I can rectify these situations immediately, to make your stay trouble free. David
