Welcome home! Rest or recreation...it is all here. We love it here and want to welcome you to this little slice of heaven located on the very best spot of the lake. This fully winterized cobblestone single story ranch sits on a private wooded peninsula with mature white pine; it is filled with all the comforts of home and displays local artwork and stained glass. Miscellaneous games, DVDs, and books will keep kids of all ages busy!
I stayed here with my family and had the best time. The one feature we really appreciated was the privacy of the cottage. We were tucked away by ourselves and felt like we had our own little island. The house was immaculate and the conveniences that were provided were top notch.
This wasn't our first visit to Traverse City but it undoubtedly was the best. We found ourselves returning from a day's activities much earlier than planned to enjoy the cottage and all it had to offer.
Our kids really enjoyed their paddle boats, the campfires and the game selection. We are home now but our thoughts keep going back and lingering over the experience. See you next year!
We loved, loved, Loved this wonderful stone cottage on beautiful Spider Lake. The kids spent all day outdoors and never even missed Cartoon Network! Thanks for making this so welcoming and 'homey' for all your visitors.

We had a wonderful week at your home. Loved the privacy & quiet peaceful
mornings. We had one rainy day and just enjoyed all of the games and movies
you provided. We couldn't have wanted anything more than your home offered
us. We are hoing to make this a yearly family affair.
I am so glad that we came up for the winter. We
had a great time. Grace-MacDonald Park was only
a short distance away and perfect during the day
and even lit up at night to take the kids sledding.
We filled up thermoses with hot cocoa for our
nighttime treks there. We made snowmen and
went crosscountry skiing nearby at TimberRidge
and spent a couple of days skiing at Crystal
Mountain with the kids. It was a great winter
getaway and a convenient location to everything.
We will be back again next year!
All I can say about this place is WOW! It is an absolutely wonderful cottage with every amenity you could want. We looked at several places in the area and we are so glad we decided on this cottage. The cottage is very well maintained and they have done a lot of updates since the pictures posted here. You can really tell the owners and property manager care about this house and take exceptional care of it. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could need and most items seemed newer or new. The newly updated copper sink was so pretty! There were plenty of towels/linens provided, both for inside (bathroom and kitchen use) as well as beach towels. There is a great selection of games, toys and movies available. We had three adults and three children staying and although the house seemed small for all of us at first pass, there ended up being plenty of room for all. The living room has huge windows so you can watch the lake as you sit and have your breakfast of watch tv (although we were so busy outside we hardly turned on the tv). The outside is really the best part of this cottage. The beach area was my kids favorite. They were out there all day. The water is almost crystal clear - I was amazed. All the extras they provide (paddle boat, paddle board, water toys, jump pad, canoe) are wonderful. We spent time on the lake and could not find another house that had a beach area nearly as nice as they one here. My children are 6 and 3 and this was perfect for them, water level was great for them. They cried more leaving here than they did when we left Disney! If we are ever back in the area, we will without a doubt return to cobblestone cottage. Thank you for sharing your house with us!
Everything was just perfect. Great communication with Sandy, the property manager who showed us around.
There was literally nothing we needed to bring...kitchen had anything we needed for making meals in and quality of cottage was top notch. We're hoping to come back in the summer if anything opens up.
Great place to stay-everything you need is there! Clean! Everything we thought we would need was already there. Quiet lake, nice, clean, clear beach! We hope the schedule works out for us to stay again next year!!
We rent a cottage nearly every summer in Traverse City and this was our first time on Spider Lake. This cottage was one of the nicest we have ever rented and it had everything we needed and more. Audrey was great to work with and very accomodating, The lake was beautiful and quiet. It was just a great week all the way around!
We have stayed at this cottage for six years now, and we still look forward to it every year. A realtor would tell you that it is priceless because of the location. I would tell that it is priceless for that and so much more. There is so much to do here, paddleboat, relax on the hammock, or enjoy a campfire at night. All of this, with the clean and modern comforts of home. The manager of the cottage is very hospitable, and I do not think that anyone would be dissapointed if you chose to stay here!
Spider Lake is a beautiful, spring-fed, 459-acre lake with multiple bays, two wide water areas, and 22 miles of shoreline. You can fish one of the best spots on the lake right from the property. Spider Lake is NO WAKE in the morning before 11 AM and in the evening after 7:30 PM to keep the lake extra quiet for fishermen.
A short distance to world-class golfing, delicious restaurants, the sites of Traverse City (children's museum, marinas, Old Town Playhouse, specialty shops), the sounds of Interlochen, casinos, or wine tasting at many local wineries; close to downhill ski resorts and the VASA bike/Nordic ski trail.
