Seven Devils Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

Relax and enjoy the incredible 180 degree views available from nearly every room of this luxury mountain lodge perched at 4,750 feet in the heart of the high country. Watch hawks soar BELOW you, from the comfort of the glass-walled great room, the dramatic sun room, or from the large covered deck.

The main floor features cathedral ceilings with exposed imported cedar beams, maple hardwood floors, a gourmet kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances, a master suite with king-size bed, a spacious great room with stone fireplace and 2 leather sofas. The entertainment system in the great room features a 55-inch 'smart' HD television with access to Netflix and Pandora, surround sound system, and a BluRay DVD player. The main floor also has an additional bedroom with two double beds. There is a spacious screened in porch with wicker sofa and chair. During the colder months, the porch is enlcosed with plexi-glass so you can enjoy it thorughout the year.

The downstairs area includes a third bedroom with queen-sized bed, and a fourth bedroom/game room with sleeper sofa where kids of all ages can enjoy the provided X-box video games on a flat panel LCD tv, watch a movie, play darts, study at a work desk, or just hang out away from the crowd.

Bring your laptop and stay in touch with the office and friends via the Wi-Fi internet connection available throughout the home.

The property is easily accessible from well maintained paved roads which are frequently serviced during the winter ski season (4 wheel drive or snow chains may be required during periods of heavy snow and/or extreme cold). The home is located on 2 large lots and features professional landscaping and parking for 3 vehicles.

While the Seven Devils area is known for dramatic mountain vistas and great skiing (Hawks Nest Snow Tubing Resort is located within Seven Devils...Beech and Sugar Mountains are within sight), the immediate area has many year-round attractions for the entire family, including great restaurants in Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, and Boone, golf and tennis, championship college football, shopping in Blowing Rock, and the Tweetsie Railroad theme park. Great hiking, mountain biking and fishing are available throughout the region. Entrance to the Grandfather Mountain Trail System is two miles west of Seven Devils Rd. Access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is only a few miles away. The Appalachian Trail is about 25 miles away.

This is a non-smoking home.

About Melisa Taylor

The Taylors and the Hubers became great friends while living in Miami, Fl. After the Taylor's moved to the Charlotte area, we decided to look for a mountain property to share. The Huber's had summered in the Highlands/Cashiers area for years. After one wonderful October weekend in the NC High Country, both of our families decided the Boone/Blowing Rock/Banner Elk area would be the perfect place to buy because the house could be enjoyed in the summer and winter.

Melisa Taylor purchased this cabin in 2007

Why Melisa Taylor chose High Country & Blue Ridge Mountains

Our number one feature was a year round view for our mountain home. This is harder to find than you would think in the NC High Country. We looked at over 50 houses in the area. Once we walked into this property, we knew it would be the perfect retreat with the view of our dreams.

What makes this cabin unique

Besides all the great features of this home, we have the wonderful town of Seven Devils. They make this house easily accessible during the winter months. All the roads are paved and snow plowed during ski season. So, you can get to the house and enjoy the snowy winter months.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks so much for the quick return of the deposit! We so enjoyed our stay and the whole family could not get over the view - such a beautiful place you have found. The renovation was beautiful as well - the granite and tile work - I'm envious!

The house was very clean and very well appointed.

This was by far the nicest home rental that we have ever experienced. The house has so many different spaces which easily allow family members private time for reading or playing a guitar on the enclosed porch. This house is truly a gem and most definitely lives up to the Million Dollar View! The house is so well appointed, clean, and well cared for. The owners have everything well organized and truly care about their guests. We cannot wait to return next year and hopefully for years to come. Five stars!!!

The views are as spectacular as they claim!

  • 4 of 5

My family and I had a wonderful time staying in this beautifully decorated and fully equipped home. Cooking meals was a cinch as they have everything you need already there. The theromstat controlled fire place was a wonderful addition and a quick way to warm up after coming out of the snow. This home has all of the little "extras" that set it apart, like DVD's for all ages and games to play. The only draw back was the driveway not being iced over prior to our arrival. We had to shovel ourselves out which detracted from being able to get out and enjoy the area as quickly as we wanted. That little fact would not stand in the way of us renting there again! The owner was wonderful to deal with and responded quickly to all of our questions. I would quickly recommend this place to anyone!

There aren't enough words to express how wonderful this property is. Having been the first time I used VRBO and actually rented a house, I honestly didn't know what to expect. To my amazement, this property was everything the pictures show and more.

The views from various rooms in the house are absolutely breathtaking! I've seen a lot of reviews for guests who have visited in the winter, and have the advantage of snow-capped mountain greatness to speak of. However, the fact that my visit was in the spring did not diminish the splendor of the sunrise over the mountain peaks.

The property is amazingly cozy, with leather furniture in the main sitting room. While there is an Xbox available, my guest and I found the other games (dominoes and chess) even more entertaining. The deck is also perfect for mimosas and brunch!

If I plan another trip to the Blue Ridge, this will definitely be in my future considerations!!!

Beautiful, clean, quiet and neat :)

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our visit immensely!! The view of the mountains from the family room was the most beautiful view we had ever seen. The cabin was warm and inviting. We had everything that we needed while we were there. We will be adding this cabin to our "Favorites" and plan on making a visit an annual family event.

Perfect Spot To Relax

  • 5 of 5

I booked this house because of the view from the great room and was not disappointed. It is as spectacular as the VRBO photos. I knew the weather would be iffy end of October but was looking for a place to relax and recharge from work. This house is perfect for that. I settled into a glider on the side porch with my coffee and Kindle and had such lovely mornings listening to the rain. (Did have some good weather also) It truly is a home away from home. It is large and graciously appointed, but not stuffy. Everything from the comfortable leather sofas and fireplace in the great room to the large and well stocked kitchen invite you to settle in and enjoy your stay. All the reviews I read mention how clean the house was. I too want to say how amazed I was at how clean everything in every room was..... especially the baths. If I hadn't known better I would have thought it was brand new construction. I also want to comment on what I call 'first fruits'. The owners have lavished their guests with the same quality appointments some might reserve for themselves. The quality of the thick luxurious towels, silky soft sheets and blankets were all top notch. As a person who loves to cook, I was impressed by the beautiful, heavy gauge cookware in the kitchen. I also want to compliment the owner's attention to providing everything one needs to have a successful stay. There were excellent instructions provided for using the TVs and entertainment equipment. There were DVDs and an excellent selection of books on site. The owner also provided excellent info on grocery stores, gas stations, and restaurant selections. (all really close to the house) I followed three of her restaurant suggestions and all were a hit. She also provided excellent info regarding directions to the house, hiking trails, and local attractions. Everything that could possibly be provided for my stay to be successful was thought of and provided without my asking. I would love to return in late spring to see the rhododendrons in bloom on the Parkway and enjoy hiking and time on the deck but the house is also a perfect spot out of season to read, rest, and catch the World Series on the big screen. Thanks for a lovely week away!
