This classic Victorian Beach house has a large living room like a treehouse, a master bedroom giving onto a large veranda with dining table and view of the beach. There's a state-of-the-art kitchen and hardwood floors throughout. 156 Wadsworth Ave. Santa Monica, CA 90405.
The second large bedroom is in the loft and there is a long claw-foot tub in addition to the shower. The grand piano is in superb condition.
Lightfilled two-bedroom retreat in the heart of the hippest part of Santa Monica, a half block stroll down the street to the beach, a lovely park, bicycle rentals, bike path, and a half block the other direction to great restaurants like Chinois on Main, the Urth Caffee, and to great shops. There is off-street parking (tandem) for 2, and reasonable pets are welcome.
There is a superb Mason & Hamlin AA grand piano in the living room.
Tennis courts are 3 blocks away, as is the toddler park, the dog park, and the famous Sunday farmer's market with kiddie horse rides. The street, Wadsworth Ave, (90405) is one block long and filled with beautiful Victorian houses.

The house is a duplex, and the unit is on the second and third floors, completely separate from the other unit. Hardly any one moves off this block, since it's the nicest beach block in all Santa Monica.
It's the best beach street in Santa Monica, and elegantly remodeled. It's always easily rented since everyone loves staying in this neighborhood (suddenly VERY chic), yet quiet and homey. The area is recently filled with artists enjoying the atmosphere.
Wadsworth Avenue is an idylic neighbourhood in Santa Monica - a quick stroll to the beach, authentic old houses and genuinely friendly neighbours and dogs - not to mention the convenience and charm of Main Street so close by. We love the Victorian character of the house - it has a history and a soul. The rooms are light and cleverly comfortable, with lots of fresh ocean breeze and pretty trees through the windows. Though there are many fun restaurants around, we love cooking and eating the balcony because the Farmers Markets in Santa Monica are bursting with nature's bounty and recipe ideas. The kitchen is incredibly well designed and stocked. Christine is wonderfully attentive to all our needs and we have as such become steady stayers over the past 7 years! We can't imagine being anywhere else in Santa Monica.
This represents the best of California living; the beach, amazing farmer's markets, great reasturants & shopping, golf, skateboarding, surfing & hiking all within 15 minutes. The decor is tasteful & simple giving the whole place a relaxing vibe. I will warn you that morning coffee or breakfast on the veranda is so enjoyable that you won't be able to get out the door as early as you thought you would. Chris (the owner) is a wonderful person and does everything she can to make your stay enjoyable.
We loved our stay here. The convenience to the beach, restaurants, and activities could not be better than this location. Public Transportation nearby, bike rentals and path along beach 1/2 block away. The kitchen was great with all that we needed to cook our meals. The furnishings are well appointed and very comfortable. We had the best family vacation of our lives. This is a winner.
Some call this block the best beach block in Santa Monica. Quiet, yet steps from the beach. Beautifully restored Victorian houses with restaurants and chic boutiques a half block away.
