The Old Fire Station is an unusual property, originally a Victorian Fire Station that has been architecturally designed and beautifully refurbished to provide a fantastic modern holiday retreat hidden away in East Cowes. Being centrally located it is a perfect base for a couple or a family who want to explore the Island. The property is in East Cowes very close to Osborne House, opposite a lovely park, and a few minutes walk to East Cowes Marina, shops (including the only Waitrose), Red Funnel ferry terminal to the mainland and chain ferry to West Cowes. The property is surprisingly light and spacious and you really feel you are on holiday from the moment you walk in. It has been restored with love and with a sense of fun. You will love it.
As you walk into this unusual property, you are immediately aware of how special it is. The Fire Station is quirky and delightful. The hallway leads to the light open plan kitchen and double height living space with French doors out to the secluded south and west facing gardens. Above the kitchen there is a mezzanine floor with a proper staircase to an enchanting room with a king size bed and special hidden away loft room with a small double which you climb into, a little like sleeping on a boat and ideally suited for older children or a young couple. The rear bedroom has a single and a bunk bed and has a bathroom adjacent. The property is equipped with free WIFI and Sky TV. There is also a washing machine, Nespresso coffee maker, Magimix, dishwasher, microwave, BBQ and trampoline!

Lovely little hcuse, good location. Perfect really!
Lovely light and bright characterful property in good location, but in need of a little TLC.
Overall liked the property, but is not really a 3 bedroom property. The 3rd bedroom not a room...Property was very clean, but the decor a little tired in places and we had problem with fridge, which was warm when we got back from day out. Jessica got straight back to us, but said it sometimes does that from time to time, perhaps need to let people know in advance in case happens or replace the fridge? All in all though, a well appointed property with lots of character and we enjoyed our stay.
Excelllent Holiday Cottage in Cowes
This converted Old Fire Station is one of the nicest properties I have stayed in and I have travelled the world. It contains everything you need and more, Jessica was very accommodating, even when we booked the day we was due to come to the island. We had an enjoyable time on our two day trip, it was so nice to be able to come back to a property that felt like home. We would recommend this property to anyone, the pictures don't do it justice.
We look forward to our next trip and a massive thank you to Jessica.
It was AMAZING
It's a beautiful and lovely house, very spacious, clean, cozy, and as nice as those photos online :) Very convenient location, bus stop is two minutes away, and Waitrose 10 mins away on foot. Every necessities are provided and clean, but will be better if also have hair dryer (or we didn't find it?). Owner Jessica is really friendly and helpful, responses to message very very quickly. Love the house, love Isle of Wight, will come back whenever possible.

The listing was totally accurate. Nice and clean. Good quality furnishings (tho a firmer mattress would have been good for me!). A good collection of crockery and pots.
The sun shone all week so we had the good fortune of making a lot of use of the garden - such a great place to sit with a book and a glass of fizz!
Made a lot of use of the great location. Took the chain ferry over to Cowes for dinner. Drove around and about to give the dog a good leg stretch.
Would consider staying again if we're heading over to the Isle of Wight again.

Turn around the bend and 100 metres on your left is Pumphouse Lane. 10 minutes drive from Wightlink (mainland link from Portsmouth). Head towards Newport, through Wooten and at the round about turn to East Cowes. Passed Osborne House, turn left down Victoria Grove towards Marina. At bottom of hill, adjacent to twin chimneys turn right onto private road Pumphouse Lane. Old Fire Station is first on your right. Park behind curved extension and the key safe is on the wooden grey cladding to the left of the light.

Park behind curved extension and the key safe is on the wooden grey cladding to the left of the light. Code is 3571. Please read house rules and ensure key is replaced when you leave! Wifi is SKY1068 code is TSLNVWMG. Please help yourself to tea and coffee, condiments etc. There is a Nespresso machine and milk frother if you are a coffee lover. A few capsules have been left for you pleasure! There is a local shop just around the corner on Adelaide Grove and Waitrose and Co-op are 10 minutes walk into East Cowes Town. The shed has a sun umbrella and cushions for the sun loungers and lots of buckets and spades, bikes, toys etc for kids. Please ensure everything is back in the shed when you leave and you close the door. There are 2 bins outside the property. The green wheelie bin is for recycling and black bin is for general rubbish. There is also a small green food bin which is emptied weekly. It would be appreciated if you would put your rubbish in the bins when you leave and do not overfill due to local wildlife ripping open bags looking for food! Pumphouse lane is a very quiet residential area so please also respect our neighbors! Please email or call if any queries.
