Why Björn Ragnar Lárusson chose Iceland

We have loved this area, and in 2009 my father bought this piece of land and build a nice house on it. Privacy and the view is the the biggest asset plus sitting in the hot pot in the evening after a long day of working or traveling.

What makes this cottage unique

Rather close to Reykjavik area and to major attraction in south west Iceland.

A beautiful home in a fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

The property had everything as advertised. The view of the mountains was great. We were not lucky to see Northern lights during our stay but they would have been magnificent from this location. We were able to enjoy all of the day trips on our list with a reasonable drive in all directions. Being able to relax in a secluded comfortable home with wood stove and a hot tub was perfect.

Beautiful cottage in the country

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed the home in Iceland! It was very cozy and warm, lots of wood inside so it really felt like a country home. There were very comfortable beds. The fire place was great, we used it every night for lovely warmth.

The kitchen was stocked nicely with pots, pans, utensils, everything you need. The hot tub was amazing! It was very welcome after a day of exploring the Geysir and Continental Divide was very dreary and cold when we were in Iceland so it was nice to warm up in the hot tub!

Overall, I would absolutely recommend this house. We only wish we had clear skies to see the northern lights and the stars.....this house is so out of the way that there were absolutely no other lights to interfere with star gazing.

The house and location are amazing.

  • 5 of 5

Rent this house. We just returned from there last week. I don't have any negatives. We couldn't find a washing machine but to mark that as a negative would be trivial so just take it as a note. The owner's details on the property sent to us say there's no wifi which was fine, but we found there is wifi and the password is in the guest book front cover. We only found it on the night before we left when we went to sign the book. Maybe he needs to update the property notes. Anyway, The house is beautiful and the location stunning. I'd recommend this rental to anyone.

What a fantastic place! We were a party of 6 (three couples) there to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday. There is plenty of room and we couldn't have chosen anywhere nicer to stay while in Iceland. Bjorn was great in responding to any questions or help we asked for leading up to the break and everything was certainly as described. He gave us perfect instructions and directions leading up to our stay. The views from nearly every angle of the house are fantastic and all well placed windows upstairs and down to see them. The house was lovely and warm with the option of the log burner and plenty of logs provided although it was very warm for the time of year. Not much snow unfortunately only on the mountain tops and we sadly didn't see the Northern Lights. The hot tub is absolutely fantastic and we were hardly out of it when we weren't travelling around. We didn't eat out but there is everything you need to make the perfect meal and relax. Just make sure you pick up food on your way through Reykjavik as there are no shops nearby. We explored the beautiful countryside and would very much recommend the Blue Lagoon, in the dark if you can! So relaxing and such an experience. It really is such a beautiful country and we would definitely recommend this lovely house to anyone thinking of visiting there. Thank you very much Bjorn for letting us stay there and helping to make my husbands birthday one to remember!

Owner's Response: Awww :) What a lovely time you have had here, normally we have winter but you got such warm weather in beginning of December. Thank you for staying in our house, and be welcome to book again, maybe in summer time. Björn
