Why Björn Ragnar Lárusson chose Iceland

We have loved this area, and in 2009 my father bought this piece of land and build a nice house on it. Privacy and the view is the the biggest asset plus sitting in the hot pot in the evening after a long day of working or traveling.

What makes this cottage unique

Rather close to Reykjavik area and to major attraction in south west Iceland.

Very nice cottage in the nature

  • 5 of 5

We had wonderful stay at the cottage , nice and comfortable, delightful jacuzzi outside with View. The cottage is very well equipped.

Only suggestion would be addition of washing machine for longer stay.

Thanks

Perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

We were so pleased with the location of this house. It was a great home base for our explorations. After stopping at a Bonus grocery store (make sure you buy toilet paper!), we had everything we needed for a few dinners, all breakfasts and picnic lunches for our hikes. The coffee maker was great once I pushed the basket down until it clicked. The hutch of beautiful dishes was a nice touch. There is wifi-- find the code in the front of the guest book. We were unable to find an official information book so we didn't see any written instructions for the hot tub, check out, etc.. We just used the information that was sent to us before our trip and common sense. The hot tub was great at the end of each day. We have one complaint and it turned out to be fine. Only one towel is provided for each person. We were there for five days and there is not a washing machine. If we were just using the towels for showering, it wouldn't have been a problem. Factor in hot tubbing and adventures in hot springs and there was potential for stinky towels! We were careful to hang them up each evening on the provided drying rack (thank goodness for that rack and the fireplace). We enjoyed the fireplace and the wood was cut and ready to be used! A very nice touch! The bedding was great. The back bedroom to the left was almost too warm for sleeping. We couldn't figure out why it was so much warmer than the rest of the house so make sure to choose bedrooms based on that. We highly recommend this house!

Lake house w/privacy and adjacent to national park access.

  • 4 of 5

The house was wonderfully situated overlooking the lake. Summer cottages in Iceland are a terrific way to stay in country. The jacuzzi was just right at the end of the day to stretch out and relax. Thank you Bjorn for allowing us the share this experience. Jason and Emilee

Wonderful property in a lovely setting!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this beautiful property!! The perfect location to explore Iceland. The house is well equipped with everything we needed. The fire and the hot tub were a real treat at the end of each day! We loved coming "home" each evening to this lovely property in the perfect setting! We are going to be sad to head home!! We have walked on glaciers, touched icebergs, climbed to the top of the world, and had the time of our lives! Thank you!!

Perfect vacation home just outside Reykjavik

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at this home, especially for the views and most amenities of a vacation home (a washer and dryer would have been nice). The fireplace made the place so cozy. We didn't use the hot tub but it looked wonderful. The wrap around porch with glass rail was perfect for the views. And this place was very easy to find.

We have a toddler and this house was just great for him. It has a small enclosed porch upstairs and a cute little kids loft with toys. We were happily surprised to find a toddler crib in the closet and plastic plates and bowls for kids.

The house is equipped with everything you need for a stay and then some. The heater and the key pad were all super easy to operate. The wifi worked great.

Thanks for a great vacation home! Your country and your home are beautiful.
