This beautiful house is a bird lover's paradise in beautiful northern Michigan, located on 4.5 acres on the western shore of Duck Lake with 160 feet of lake frontage. Birds and wildlife
Wildlife and birds are abundant and varied in the area, with frequent deer and turkey sightings, along with raccoons and the occasional fox and flying squirrel. We also have otters and muskrats in the lake, and frequently hear coyotes in the evenings calling across the lake. The many species of bird include a pair of nesting loons which produced two offspring two years ago (but not last year). Below is a list of bird species we often see from the house (in spring and summer we have a huge selection of migrants):
Blue Jay, Cardinal, Robin, Chickadee, Cow Bird, Titmouse, Goldfinch,
Nuthatch, Grosbeak, Purple Finch, Baltimore Oriole, Cedar Waxwing, Ovenbird, Woodpeckers (Pileated, Red Headed, Red Bellied, Hairy, Downy, Northern Flicker), Common Loon, Tundra and Mute Swans, Mallard, Wood Duck, Tree Swallow, Belted Kingfisher,Snowy Owl, Bald Eagle, Turkey, Blue and Green Heron, Red Wing Blackbird, Hummingbird, Common Merganser, (down the road are a nesting pair of Osprey)
