Our beautiful country guest house has a quiet rural setting but is a convenient 5 minute drive to all that Lake placid offers and 20 minutes to Whiteface mountain. It features mountain views, bright cheery rooms, a modern fully equipped kitchen, nice quality furnishings, comfortable beds, a gas parlor stove and much more. The home is stylishly Adirondack with post and beam construction with rustic bark trim. Bathrooms are brand new and nicely tiled. Outside on the deck is a hot tub. If it's a game you want to play, there is a large game room with pool table and Wii game station.
There's much to do nearby. Ski or hike out your door on the many trails that surround our property. You'll probably see deer in the evenings. Take your dog out for a run in the fields. Take a canoe trip up the Chubb River exploring for osprey, beaver and the occasional eagle. Check out our horses grazing in the pastures nearby or soak in the hot tub on the deck.
We've been coming to Lake Placid for a few years now for spring skiing, and this is the best house we've rented! The pictures and description really don't do it justice.
We stayed for 4 nights - with two families (4 adults, 4 kids aged 9 & 11yrs old). Plenty of space for us to spread out and have different things going on at the same time (playing pool, watching movies, playing games, cooking, etc.). The hot tub was a great perk after a day of skiing!
The house was very clean, had comfortable beds, and had all the amenities we could possibly need, and the owner was very responsive to our questions both before and during our stay.
Although it wasn't right in town, it was only a 6-7 min drive to the nearest edge of town (and, our favourite restaurant) so it wasn't a big deal.
We'll definitely come again!
We stayed here for the week of the Ironman Race this summer. We took a chance on a place a bit more out of town that we wanted, but it was actually perfect! The location is very close to town, but allows you to get out into the quiet country and enjoy the peace as well. It is convenient to all sides of town and attractions.
The house itself and the property have been so perfect for our family. We build fires, kids played outside on the swing-set and hot tub. In the evenings we all played on the pool table for fun as well. Lots of space, great interior!
The prices around Lake Placid are crazy high, and the owners of this house have fairly priced this location and it is worth every
Lake Placid is one of my favorite places and this home is in the perfect location. With all the beautiful wilderness and scenery around it, it's still only 5 minutes from town. The pictures don't do it justice. It is the best rental we have ever had. Spacious and super clean. A big plus was our ability to bring our dogs. They had a great time frolicking in the snow. We enjoyed a daily pool tourney. The kitchen had everything you could need with room to prepare a complete meal. Ending the day in the hot tub with falling snow was wonderful. We would go back in a second and highly recommend the house and the owners.
My family has been coming to Lake Placid for 40+ years so I know the area well. I stayed here over Labor Day weekend 2014 for a family wedding. It was the perfect spot. We were a big group, two couples, grandma, a college-age cousin, and two tykes under 5. Plus two pugs! The house was very comfortable and well-equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and grill. The yard and swing-set were perfect for running the kids around and we loved the hot-tub and fire pit for the adults. The house is on a quiet street, but close enough to town to make trips to the store or the sights a breeze. There are several trail-heads down the road and we took the kids for a hike at Henry's Woods one day (only about 5 minutes from the house). Eileen and Bob, the owners, were easy to communicate with through-out the rental process and even helped us out when we arrived and had a question about the hot-tub. I'd highly recommend this spot!
We absolutely recommend this home during your vacation stay in Lake Placid. The house was super clean and organized, it is decorated so cozy, it's spacious, has a pool table and a hot tub! Just about a 10 minute drive to downtown but yet you also get gorgeous scenery around the house. It was a great rental experience, thank you!
Lake Placid is so beautiful in the summer. This house is away from it all but only a 5 minute drive to town. Perfect for dogs - on a quiet street and lots of land. The house was just as pictured, clean and peaceful. I am a picky renter so cleanliness and up-to-date amenities are very important to me.
There was a 100-mile hiking trail just down the road. We often grilled on the deck and enjoyed the view. The kitchen was great for preparing meals and socializing. There is also a pool table.
We had a great two weeks in this house - perfect if you want to eat at home a few nights during your visit and enjoy the quiet, crisp Lake Placid air.
