We love Seneca Lake. Kayaking on the lake is fabulous. The screened porch protects you from the weather and makes you feel like you are actually on the dock. Waking up to the water is the best part.
Jim & Sue Getgen purchased this cottage in 2007
We love Seneca Lake, every day the lake changes and is beautiful. Just waking up to the lake is a site. Very quiet.
Fire pit is great to sit out at night and enjoy.
This was our second time staying here for our girls week. We love the home and had a great time. Sue and Jim are great and very responsive to any requests we might have had. The home is really well equipped and we had everything we needed. The area has many nice attractions and lots of wineries that have tastings. We would highly recommend it and we are already planning our return trip.
My husband and I and our two grown sons really enjoyed our stay. The house is well equipped and beautifully decorated. Really enjoyed waking up to a beautiful sunrise which I could see from the bed. The screened in porch was very nice and where we spent most of our time. The owners live next door and were wonderful when my husband left some of his clothes there. Would rent the home again!
After 19+ yrs. vacationing on the beach in the Carolina's my wife decided time for a change. She suggested finding a lake. I told her fine but we'll need a boat! Bought a boat and her intensive search for a home on the water with a dock began. Normal family # would not be joining us. She spotted Jim and Sue place and had a good vibe, she booked it. Well as always she picked a winner. House was more than described! Absolutely gorgeous in everyway, from the floors to the enclosed porch overlooking the lake. And Sue was dead on when telling us A/C seldom need with porch Windows and sliding doors open lake breeze would do! Perfect! Cove was perfect spot and Jim's dock was a master piece. My 19ft tied up great for the entire week! Can't say enough about accommodation's. My wife commented we needed to bring nothing, Sue had it covered a-z. To round things up will also tell you you won't find two nicer people, Jim and Sue your the best. Thank you!
Beautiful home with many amenities! Home was stocked with dishes, small appliances, bath towels, washer and dryer. We had access to kayaks to enjoy the lake. The view is amazing, especially on the new dock! All the wineries all close, even a brewery at the top of the hill. The owners are especially sweet and very accommodating. Will definitely be back next year, already made reservations!
The house was awesome. It was well maintained and stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. There are plenty of wineries in the area and Watkins Glen isn't far away. I'd definitely recommend this property.
We absolutely loved staying in Getg Inn!!! As an avid traveler, we have been using Homeaway properties for the past 6 years and we were absolutely blown away by this property. The view of the lake was unforgettable, we loved waking up to the beautiful sunrise each morning and enjoying our morning coffee. The house was immaculate and was perfectly furnished. The couch was clean and new, and we loved sitting around the main room during our down time from the hiking and the wine tasting. The AC unit was a great help on hot days and each room was furnished with a ceiling fan, which was so helpful at night. The property was easy to locate, near the famous wineries and was an easy drive to grocery stores and Watkins Glen downtown. The owners were pleasant and helpful and we would absolutely recommend this property! We hope to return to this wonderful get away!!
