We love Seneca Lake. Kayaking on the lake is fabulous. The screened porch protects you from the weather and makes you feel like you are actually on the dock. Waking up to the water is the best part.
Jim & Sue Getgen purchased this cottage in 2007
We love Seneca Lake, every day the lake changes and is beautiful. Just waking up to the lake is a site. Very quiet.
Fire pit is great to sit out at night and enjoy.
Highly recommend staying here! House is right on the lake. Watched beautiful sunrise over the lake. Great boat dock with table to sit around at the end of the dock. Nice fire pit right next to the lake to sit and listen to the water with a glass of wine. House is completely updated. Plenty of room for 3 couples. Owners are so friendly and came over just to say hi and make sure we were all okay. Other then the beds being a little uncomfortable but still acceptable, and the unpaved road getting down to it, I would highly recommend staying here! We will definitely be coming back to this house next time we are there!
This house has been beautifully rehabbed and is very comfortable. Kitchen is completely stocked, and there is a gas grill. I loved the screened porch and spent mornings watching the sun rise and reading. The deck is new; I wanted to swim, but the algae was not conducive. Just taking a star off as there really wasn't any internet service- we tried multiple times, but just couldn't log in. While vacations are for getting away- I do need to respond to work emails on occasion. Be forewarned- the house is on a road which is reached by a a very steep gravel road.
This Cottage was everything that was advertised and more! It was spotless and very well appointed. The view of the lake was spectacular. Having everything on one floor was especially important for my 90 year old mother and the short walk to the dock was perfect. We spent hours on the enclosed porch working on a jigsaw puzzle while looking out on that beautiful lake.
There was so much to do in the area. We visited the amazing Corning Museum of Glass and my husband and son actually made glass pendants before we toured floor after floor of beautiful glass art. We played mini golf followed by an ice cream dinner and we found delicious Pizza and cannoli's which was important to a family of Italians! My husband and son ended the week at the Watkins Glen Raceway.
We would highly recommend this Cottage. Jim and Sue were so helpful and friendly. We had everything we needed and then some!
This was our second time staying here for our girls week. We love the home and had a great time. Sue and Jim are great and very responsive to any requests we might have had. The home is really well equipped and we had everything we needed. The area has many nice attractions and lots of wineries that have tastings. We would highly recommend it and we are already planning our return trip.
My husband and I and our two grown sons really enjoyed our stay. The house is well equipped and beautifully decorated. Really enjoyed waking up to a beautiful sunrise which I could see from the bed. The screened in porch was very nice and where we spent most of our time. The owners live next door and were wonderful when my husband left some of his clothes there. Would rent the home again!
After 19+ yrs. vacationing on the beach in the Carolina's my wife decided time for a change. She suggested finding a lake. I told her fine but we'll need a boat! Bought a boat and her intensive search for a home on the water with a dock began. Normal family # would not be joining us. She spotted Jim and Sue place and had a good vibe, she booked it. Well as always she picked a winner. House was more than described! Absolutely gorgeous in everyway, from the floors to the enclosed porch overlooking the lake. And Sue was dead on when telling us A/C seldom need with porch Windows and sliding doors open lake breeze would do! Perfect! Cove was perfect spot and Jim's dock was a master piece. My 19ft tied up great for the entire week! Can't say enough about accommodation's. My wife commented we needed to bring nothing, Sue had it covered a-z. To round things up will also tell you you won't find two nicer people, Jim and Sue your the best. Thank you!
