Great Room - Open Floor Plan upstairs with vaulted ceilings to optimize interraction, family bonding, and enjoy treetop views. Great round glass fireplace warms the large cozy great room in minutes in the winter. Great rates and value!
We really enjoyed our stay in your cabin and had the perfect fall weather. You certainly have thought of even the smallest detail. I don't think I've ever stayed in a rental that was so well-appointed.
I am already planning a fall stay next year, with my husband, when our youngest (hopefully) heads off to college.
We really loved this higher elevation neighborhood and cozy home. Wood burning fireplace was a special bonus. House had everything that we needed including newer hot tub on the deck. We are hoping to get back up there this month. Best skiing conditions in years so we are trying to find a few days to make the trip again.. Not much snow last month but so much there now that it will feel like a different place.. We are looking forward to active participation in the best snowfall of the decade!
My husband and I stayed at the cabin in late summer, with our three small dogs. We enjoyed the hiking, the beaches including especially Sand Harbor, and the tram up to High Camp at Squaw Valley (we walked the 5 miles down as the trail was longer, diverted onto a road for a way). Thoroughly recommend this mountain and hike.
There is also a very convenient trail two minutes from the house to exercise dogs, which we used twice a day.
The house is great and we were very happy. The house itself is delightful and a good deal and the location is excellent.
Unfortunately one of our dogs chewed a blind (must have been the day we went for retail therapy in Reno). I did not notice this and was contacted immediately and efficiently by the owner on our return home. Her email covered all details of the damage and cost including photos of blind and receipt and I was only deducted $65 from the deposit, so all was well.
Tahoe is truly the best vacation spot with so much to do, and we will be back. It is a wonderful house.
The Bear Cub Cabin was perfect for our family vacation. Could easily accommodate 2 families of four. Great open living area upstairs. The mornings and afternoons on the deck are amazing. Great location to Meeks bay to the south and Tahoe City to the North, not to mention Sunnyside beach and market at the bottom of the hill.
The bedding was very comfortable. Perfectly stocked kitchen for cooking (nice sharp knives). The owners take extra effort to ensure your stay is perfect and they definitely take pride in their cabin. The rates are very Affordable.
Our family will definitely be venturing back to the Bear Cub Cabin for future vacations. Thanks for making our stay so great.
A group of 4 of us stayed here for Memorial Day Weekend with our two dogs and had the best time! The house is better in person than in the pictures, and we made full use of the Big Green Egg, grill, and hot tub. The neighborhood is nicely secluded and has incredible lake views from some of the streets, but is still close enough to the lake/town for other amenities. One of the owners, Pam, communicated everything to us ahead of time and was a pleasure to work with. We couldn't believe how great the house was at a reasonable price, and we are planning to come back again later this year!
We just returned from Tahoe and enjoyed this well-located home high above Sunnyside. Some of our favorite hikes are in Paige Meadows and this home is just a couple of blocks from the trail head. We like the open floor plan upstairs and swirling glass fireplace. Hot tub is small but cozy. Brand new gas grill on the deck was a nice surprise.
Bedrooms are nice downstairs and stay at a perfect temperature. Neighborhood is very nice and quiet; lots of mature trees.
If you are looking for a large open comfortable cabin up in Tahoe, this is the place. We were able to bring our 3 kids plus our 4th child (our golden retriever) so we could all enjoy the snow together. We really appreciated the warm fireplace upstairs and had many warm cozy evenings playing games together on the big dining table. We have never seen a glass round fireplace like this before, but let me tell you it warms the house right up fast and is fun to watch as well. The kitchen is nice too and had everything we needed, but we went out to Tahoe City for dinner too, which is only 5 minutes or a little more away. So you are up in the mountains with pine trees, but city close for the restaurants and stores. They have a nice stereo and there was a cord to plug in my cell phone to listen to my playlists, and a huge TV, and sofas all around. This home is well decorated too with antique skiis and snowshoes hanging on the walls and some cool lamps. The beds and bedding were all very good. We liked the hot tub too. Thank you for providing such a nice place for our family to stay!
