The Owner purchased this house in 1990
Punta Pescadero is away from the major tourist areas but easily accessible by car or private plane. The rural Mexican community atmosphere still exists.
We are extremely fond of warm weather and the beach and we love to share this area with family and friends. Punta Pescadero is off of the beaten track and it's not unusual to have the entire beach to yourself.
The Hotel and restaurant Punta Pescadero is within easy walking distance.
My wife and I love to travel and spend time in exotic locations around the globe. We have been to Mexico many times and have always enjoyed our time in this Baja Paradise, Casa Blanca.
If you are looking to spend a gorgeous week in the sun, enjoy fabulous dinners and cocktails, this gem of a home provides you with all of that and more. This private retreat is a great location to relax, jog, hike, fish, swim or take in the local culture. Enjoy it by yourself or invite friends and share some time together. It is big enough for 4 couples, each with their private suite and a loft for additional room.
There was lots of room for us and our friends to enjoy what each of us liked to do most by the Sea of Cortez. Some of our friends were up at 5am and on a local fishing boat a few minutes later, with a friendly captain committed to "la pesca" in his favorite fishing spot. The exercise buffs went out for a run or a hike on the hills bordering the Sea, others meandered slowly to the pool overlooking the Sea of Cortez to bask in the never ending sun rays. By 11am, some gathered the courage to take out a kayak (included with the house rental) to look for the fish and turtles that swim just a few yards off of the Casa Blanca Cove. Others enjoyed a stroll on the beach to find interesting shells, tidal life or just look at the mountains on the other side of the Sea.
Casa Blanca's spacious living quarters provided the space and freedom to be with our friends and yet spend our own time together too. Each guest room has a lovely terrace that exits to the pool area. The common living space is centered around a fabulous 15 foot wet bar, designed in local Mexican tile where I practiced my latest Margarita recipes while taking our last look of the day over the water.
We met both Poli and Olivia during our time there. They ensured our stay was enjoyable and assisted us with whatever we needed. Casa Blanca is 60 minutes from San Jose del Cabo and arrangements were easy to make to and from the airport. It is a beautiful area that provides you with all the amenities of a resort and a unique view into the life of the local community.
As repeat guests, we hope you enjoy it as much as we have.
We are always just unbelievably sad when our stay comes to an end. Casa Blanca, it's staff and the homeowners are surely a pleasure. 2 families of 4 returned for another totally relaxing vacation. It took us about a minute after our first trip to Casa Blanca, to contact Steve to book our stay a year in advance. We just counted down the months, until it was just days away before we would be back.
Casa Blanca does more than just give you a place to lay your head at night after spending a day out. It makes you want to stay in, on the property, on the beach and realize what total relaxation really is. From the pool, to the kayaking, snorkeling with schools of fish and beach play - it just doesn't get much better. Without a doubt your stay here will never be forgotten. Memories will be made.
OK now for more specifics: The layout of CB is really rad. A real draw (for us) are the suites, (king beds (super comfy), bathrooms and lounge areas with sliding doors to your balcony with table and chairs). They are great for privacy, yet close enough that you don't feel you are missing anything. The main living space is spacious and has a loft with 3 twin beds and bath, for added guests. We cooked in mostly. Kitchen is great - loads of dishes, cookware, seasonings and some cold condiments in the fridge. Bottled water is provided and the ice machine in fridge is filtered too, so you can use the ice maker, which is great. We gave the BBQ a good workout this year. They do have a tv and dvd/vhs player along with some movies in the main living space, which we have yet to turn on and also wifi. The pool is great fun and some toys are provided for it. Poli and Olivia keep the house and grounds clean. Sunrise (while I could not get myself up to watch this year) is a must. The beach is really great, and swimmable (playable). Great for hunting sea shells. The 2 kayaks are in excellent shape and a must. Don't be surprised if you see dolphins with your morning coffee, while in a rocking chair on the deck, as the sunshine warms the morning air. Truly perfect. The Toady Road to the house (quickest route from Los Cabos) is an adventure, while you have to carefully navigate the road, the views are totally worth it. We had a VW Jetta and did just fine. Lots of fun places to eat in town.
Still the best place I've ever seen stars. This time shooting stars! Until next time....

Just returned from our spring break tour of the Baja. Had the pleasure of staying for a few days in this wonderfully appointed house. It was perfect for our party of 8 as there was plenty of room for all of us ... and then some. The kitchen is equipped with every thing you would need to prepare a gourmet meal; the living room has multiple seating areas so everyone can spread out and do their own thing; the bedrooms are laid out in such a way as to maximize privacy; the outdoor area/pool area overlooks the stunning Sea of Cortez. Polli (the house manager) maintains the house very well as it is very, very clean and everything works perfectly. Unlike other homes we have rented, the house is well stocked with beach towels, pool/beach toys, bottled water, t.p, paper towels, body soap, laundry soap. The house is positioned to maximize sea breezes, so we never used the AC. The area is also very safe so we slept with the sliding doors in the bedroom open to the evening breeze and had a perfect night's rest to the sound of the waves below.
Punta Pescadero is situated about 30-40 minutes from Los Barilles (the nearest town), so the setting is very rural and quiet. Days were spent relaxing by the pool or out on the kayaks (supplied). We had one afternoon sipping cocktails at the small hotel down the road and were fortunate enough to be entertained by a Humpback whale breaching just off the shore! We did drive into El Cardonal (if-you-blink-you-will-miss-it village 15 minutes north) for dinner twice - once at the taco truck near the basketball courts which only serves on weekends; and once at El Cardonito (very good). Fyi, for those who can't live without their java, had very good lattes/espressos at Cafe Encinalito in los Barilles.
We have rented many homes through VRBO all over the world and I must say that this is one of our best experiences. I can't emphasize enough how well stocked/equipped this home is. It never felt like a rental home (with locked closets full of supplies, or half filled dish soap dispenser) but rather like we were staying at a friends home. It was a pleasure communicating with Steve throughout the planning process as he was always prompt with his responses and provided a ton of info on the house and area. Thank you Steve for sharing your wonderful vacation homes with us.
If you like peace and quiet at a wonderful home with a perfect climate and outstanding view, this place checks all the boxes!
We were four couples (Bring On The Margaritas!) staying there in March 2015. The four suites are exactly the same so no conflict there. We never needed the AC in the suites as it cooled down nicely for sleeping. Low 80's for daytime temps and pretty low humidity for oceanfront property. Lots of windows for an outstanding view anywhere in the house. The loft was very nice as well with three beds and bathroom. Pool was great, ocean was a very comfortable temp for snorkeling. Octavio brought us dinner two of the nights we were there and a few nights we ate at the resort a short walk to the south. All the food we had during our vacation was wonderful!
We enjoyed walks on the beach, sea kayaking, snorkeling, fishing and a lot of laying around by the pool. We took the rental van to Los Barriles one day and Todos Santos another day. Our last night we drove three miles north to Octavio's restaurant for a pig roast. It was wonderful!
Great place to rejuvenate your soul! We will be back!
We had a magnificent holiday at Casa Blanca. What a paradise!
Before I get into all the accolades I will start with the only negative and that was the drive from Los Barriles. You might want to recommend that guests rent a Jeep! My husband was concerned that we were destroying the bottom of our rental car. Aside from that, we had the most amazing holiday and the unanimous consensus was that they would all love to do it again . The weather was perfect - I loved the warm wind although it did make our tennis matches more challenging, the court was perfect. We all played including the grand kids and it provided a great way to gets lots of exercise so we could enjoy our cocktail hour without feeling guilty. Your home works out so well for multiple families. There is so much space to be either on your own enjoying a time out in the hammock or joining in the activities. We had crossword puzzles going on one table with dominos and card games on another.
I took so many pictures of the beach as I just couldn't get enough of the huge expanse of white sand. We went on beach walks, beach runs, horseback riding; we played soccer, flew kites and built many sand castles. We went for lots of swims in the crystal clear sea as well as kayaking and fishing. We were quite intrigued with all the wild life. My son and daughter-in-law were lucky enough when Kayaking to spend 3/4 hour beside a whale and her calf. We saw many schools of manta rays leaping out of the water and many schools of dolphins. I was quite fascinated by the Pelicans.
Poli and Olivia were fantastic. We made Poli coffee every morning (with lots of sugar!) and he seemed to enjoy having a morning visit. Little did I realize how wonderful it would be to have Olivia clean the house every other day. With one of the grand kids only 8 months old, it was a treat to have the floor cleaned as that is where he spent most of his time - not quite crawling but moving all over never the less.
Octavio was fabulous! We ended up having dinner delivered almost every other night. One night I mentioned it was my son's birthday and he and his wife came and barbecued at the house. After a bit of convincing they joined us for diner which was amazingly delicious and they even brought a birthday cake.
I just can't think of anything finer than lying in bed at night after a full day of activities and listening to the waves crashing on the beach - we miss it!
The 2nd visit was even better than the first and longer! Gorgeous view and great swimmable beach! Very roomy home for multiple couples or families to easily share and individual villas for privacy and shared common area and kitchen. Great area for beach walks, sea kayaking right off beach in front of house, pool and snorkeling. Close to Hotel Punta Pecadero with great lunches and dinners with incredible views. Poli and Olivia can help with any special requests. Email your grocery list before you arrive so the house will be fully stocked! Octavio is a local gentleman who also has a eatery nearby and on certain nights, serve a seafood buffet which was delicious. Octavio's wife can also prepare dinners and be brought to the Casa Blanca. I strongly recommend renting a car, shopping for groceries before you arrive at the house. You can be set for the week and not even leave the house! There are games, books and movies galore. Just sitting on the pool deck of the house is all you really want to do. Just returned from Casa Blanca 2 weeks ago and looking forward to the next visit!!!!
This home is a must! Not only was Casa Blanca a place to relax, explore and make memories, but it is a home where you feel at ease, welcomed, and comfortable. We felt so very relaxed and comfortable. Casa Blanca is a place you can put your feet up, grab a puzzle and work on it for days, nap in the hammock, cocktails anytime and jump into pool anytime of day to cool off. If we could have stayed for a few months we would have. Polly and Olivia were so great. They made sure we had everything we needed. Polly's wife cooked us an amazing meal one evening. We had leftovers for like 4 days! Best potato empanadas we've ever had and her tamales were killer! Never have had them with meat and raisins in them! The 2 husbands jumped in the kayaks when the saw a pod of dolphins and got to paddle so close to them to enjoy the show. They said it was amazing! 3 of the kids in our group had never, and all three were fantastic with it! The snorkel gear was well used and my 8 yr old daughter learned in the pool for an hour or so and then off she was in the sea enjoying so many schools of fish. We enjoyed coffee every morning on the deck and everyday (except the last) we saw pods of dolphins and even a few whales every day. Really-a scene in a movie! Perfect! Going to bed each night and waking up each morning to the waves breaking was so soothing. So many beautiful memories were made.
Go. Relax. Nap. Live. Explore.
We all need a space like this to unwind and regenerate. You won't be disappointed. Thanks again, Steve. You have been such a pleasure to chat with over the last 10 months. We can't wait to go back, and have been sharing our vacation stories with friends.
