Casa Animas is a luxurious, artistically-decorated and spacious town house located right in the centre of Nerja town.

It is a much-loved home, equipped with everything you will need during your stay.

Two large living-lounge areas surrounded by all the books you could ever dream of getting through on your holiday. (English, Spanish and French).

A good-sized and fully-equipped kitchen overlooking a large Moroccan-themed courtyard perfect for sunbathing, reading, painting and dining in total luxury.

Master spacious double bedroom with two small balconies overlooking the street with an en suite half bathroom with another small balcony and walk-in wardrobe.

A second very spacious double bedroom with a wide balcony overlooking the courtyard, and with a spiral staircase leading to a large terrace with a glimpse of the mountains in the distance.

A large bathroom with large corner bath (room for two!)

A small and very rustic single bedroom with a low ceiling at the other side of the courtyard with a downstairs room that we use as a storeroom for beach gear and cleaning products.

A small terrace ideal for sunbathing or reading in winter but which does get pretty warm during summer months.

Five or less minutes to bars, restaurants, beaches and everything you will need for your perfect holiday in the sun.

TV and unlimited Wifi.

About Melissa Launay

My name is Melissa Launay and I am a fine artist and children's illustrator living and working in London with my partner.

Animas 28 is my family home where I grew up, and where I went to elementary and high school.

My father Andrew Launay was an author, screen-writer and novelist from London of French origin. As a writer he could work from anywhere in the world so while I was born in London we moved to Nerja when I was 6 and never looked back.

12 years ago we decided to give the house a dramatic renovation into what you see today. Nothing escaped transformation. Floors, ceilings, and windows disappeared and reappeared somewhere completely different, and even now it remains a working project as I always want to add murals, details and beauty to it.

All the art work, the books, details and all the furniture have been hand-picked with great care and love.

It brings me great pleasure to offer my friendly, homely house, full of character and good energy for guests to enjoy as much as we do.

What makes this house unique

Casa Animas is a charismatic, artistic home with Persian and Moroccan themes. The Moroccan themed courtyard has a mural painted by the artist owner and the whole house has an organic, natural and enchanting feel.

The house is spacious and open-planned allowing in lots of natural light during the day. When the sun goes down the well thought-out lighting makes this house feel cosy and dreamy.

Charming lamps hidden amongst the plants in the courtyard make dining outside a luxurious and romantic experience!

The large kitchen and living-lounge room overlooking the courtyard are the perfect place to socialise while cooking up a storm, relaxing and reading.

It doesn’t get much better than waking up over-looking the courtyard from the balcony with its beautiful plants while you listen to the swallows flying over the town – the perfect summer holiday sounds.

Spending the days at the beach, going for a tapas lunch, having a siesta while the birds sing in the courtyard, a sundowner at one of the bars overlooking the sea, dining out in the town’s most charming little restaurants, walking through its ambient and vibrant streets with its boutique shops or just relaxing in the courtyard at night will make your holiday the most memorable holiday in the South of Spain!

Great location with incredible ambience

Couldn't have asked for a better location in the heart of the old town in nerja. When we arrived we were in awe of how beautiful the place was, so full of character, beautifully furnished, books in abundance with Melissa and Ashley there to greet us. You'll find everything you'll need in the house including beach towels and the helpful guide about eating out, beaches, places of interest which allowed us to make the most of our weeks stay. Unique and tranquil Spanish house.

Stayed for 3 weeks in this very Spanish house located in a lovely old Spanish street very near the town centre.The house was very clean and any issues we had were quickly resolved by Melissa.The owners art work in the house added to the character. We have visited Nerja on many occasions, but this was our first time in the centre and loved the location. All the bars and restaurants are within easy walking distance, as is the lovely El Salon beach. We will certainly visit again and would not hesitate to recommend this house to anyone.

A wonderful stay

The house is on Calle Animas, about 3 blocks from the Balcon de Europa and very close to all the best shops and restaurants. The beaches also are easy walking distance, including Burriana, our favorite. We did an easy day trip to Alhambra in Grenada, only about an hour away. The home itself is great for a family of four and is fully equipped. We did have a few issues with electrical fuses and the wifi, which were addressed instantly by Melissa or her associate. The street outside the house can be busy late at night, so sleeping can be interrupted if you are a light sleeper, particularly if you're from a more rural environment. Overall the stay was wonderful, and the home was beautifully furnished and detailed.

A beautiful authentic and tasteful spanish town house ideally located in centre of nerja.

We stayed in casa animas for a week with our 3 small children. It is a beautiful property, spacious, tastefully decorated and brilliantly equipped, with everything you could require on holiday. The outside courtyard was perfect for al fresco dining. It is great location, with all the main hustle and bustle of the town only a short 3 min stroll away. The owner Melissa could not have been more helpful and little touches like coffee, milk and butter provided on arrival as well as a small selection of Melissa's artwork made this stay very special. We could not recommend it highly enough!

Best Location Ever!

We had a fantastic time in this lovely house which was extremely well located just around the corner from the main streets in old town Nerja containing all the restuarants and the Balcon to Europe. The house itself had a lovely feel to it with three separate outside areas and plenty of space inside with an open plan feel to keep everyone connected but not on top of each other. Being so close to the main town of Nerja we did not eat in at all but the kitchen seemed very well equiped except for a washing up bowl or a plug in the sink. This was not a big issue and location and comfort scored top marks. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Wonderful place to stay

We are a family of 5 people and we spend a perfect week in this lovely townhouse with the nice patio and the sun terrasses. We felt like at home, because there was everything in the house we needet. We don't think there is a better place to stay in Nerja. Thank you so much!

A beautiful, very spacious charismatic town house, Animas 28 is located in the centre of the town with all activity and everything you might need right on your doorstep.

The town has beautiful views of the sea and the mountains, particularly from its famous Balcon de Europa. There’s a selection of lovely little beaches in the town centre itself to choose from, all the restaurants, high street shops and night clubs, emergency clinics and chemists, all just five minutes walking distance from the house.

Frigiliana, the Caves of Maro, Maro and other stunning villages are just 15 minute drive from the house. Other activities such as water theme parks are perfect for a family day out, or for something more peaceful try the isolated nature park beaches, nudist beaches, scuba diving, waterfalls, walks and picnics in the mountains.

A nearby shopping mall for a bigger selection of shops is only 20 minute drive in Torre del Mar.

Both Malaga City and Granada are an hour away by car.
