About Todd or Lisa Tash

I am a high tech industry consultant from Silicon Valley, California. It's a great place to live except there aren't any trout!

Todd or Lisa Tash purchased this house in 1999

Why Todd or Lisa Tash chose Montana

When my wife and I decided we ought to own a second home to feed my fly-fishing-for-trout cravings, I searched all over the west. I read the magazines and called the Chambers of Commerce. It didn't take long to settle on Dillon. Nice town, great people, far from the hustle and bustle, and spectacular fishing! What's not to like?

Next decision: where exactly in Dillon? Again I searched all over but couldn't find just the right house to buy. But I finally found the right piece of land, right on the river. All I had to do then was build the right house.

The only trouble is that we can be there only two or three times a year. But we hated to see such a great place go to waste so much of the time and so we decided to rent it out to people like you whenever we can't be there. I've never been sorry about any of the decisions we made. Come see why.

What makes this house unique

Great fly fishing right in front of the house in the Beaverhead River. Walking distance from Poindexter, a recently re-engineered tributary full of trout. Short drives to many blue ribbon trout rivers, lakes and streams like the Big Hole and trout-laden Clark Canyon Reservoir, plus big game and upland bird hunting grounds. You can hang your deer or elk right next to the driveway.

45 minutes from Maverick, Dillon's small but delightful ski resort with a 2,000 ft vertical drop.

Awesome cabin with access to incredible fishing

  • 5 of 5

My 3 sons and I have stayed here twice and I've also stayed here with my older fishing buddies and we couldn't be more pleased with this cabin. The furnishings and layout are perfect and the outside deck with fire pit is the perfect way to finish off a day of fly fishing. The manager, Lisa and her husband, Todd, could not be more helpful. I would recommend this cabin to anyone who wants to catch fish and enjoy the river right outside your back door.

Update to my review of 2013

  • 5 of 5

Since our stay in 2013, we've been back twice (in June-July of both 2014 and 2015). We would have been there last year, too; except for a wedding. But we will be back this year and are looking forward to it. The other reviewers got it right...this is the place you are looking for. The setting, the accommodations, the management, the location, the fish, the river; well, you get the idea...

This place has it ALL.

Renting this house made 2014 one of our best trips to Montana!

  • 5 of 5

Our family has vacationed in Montana for many years. Over the years, we've either stayed with friends or rented multiple motel rooms in Dillon. This year we decided to rent a house - and what a great idea! It's in a great location, was well-equipped, and had plenty of room for all of us. The hosts were fantastic; very accommodating! I asked if there was a crockpot, which there wasn't, but the hosts provided one for us! Oh, and fly-fishing? What better access than right out the front door to the beautiful Beaverhead for some big browns! We're already booked again for 2015!

Better than ever

  • 5 of 5

This is my 5th year renting this great home on the Beaverhead River. The only thing better than the fishing within sight of the house is the house itself. With the recent addition of two bedrooms and another full bath, my father and I were able to introduce southwest Montana to some great friends. I've rented several houses from several Internet sites. This is the only one I've rented more than once. You will not be disappointed.

Outstanding home, Great fishing, Friendly agent

  • 5 of 5

I've rented several vacation homes through VRBO and seldom been disappointed. This home is everything listed and then some. It is spacious, clean, and very well appointed with darn near every kitchen gadget you could want, 2 Satellite TVs, a bumper pool table,...well, you get the idea.....Oh, yeah...the fishing....don't believe that the Beaverhead is only a nymph/streamer river. On one day (float), my friend & I caught more that 50 LARGE Trout on Dry Flies (we had 5 doubles and lost count of the exact number of fish landed, several 20"+). Additionally, I caught several fish in front of the house (drys) up to 17" casting from the riverbank, without getting my feet wet! The house is beautiful, the fishing superb, and the friendly nearby rental agent makes any problem (we had none) easily resolved. We are already planning our return next year.

A bit of heaven

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented this home for a long weekend. The property managers were extraordinarily nice folks and the home was perfect, everything we hoped for! We enjoyed hiking, fishing, birding and sitting next to the fire reading.

You can be as isolated as you'd like or enjoy everything available in the nearby town of Dillon. Hike, fish, hunt, or float the river right from the front lawn. Or just build a fire in the fire pit in the middle of the deck, pull the chairs around, cook yourselves up some smores, and enjoy!
