Overview

Smith Mountain Lake House Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms (just finished upgrades) sleeps 6

We want you to enjoy our home as much as we have! After a hectic week at the office you can sit on the huge deck under the stars and have a glass of wine while listening to the gentle lapping of the waves on the beach. We have a blue heron that stays in our cove and Canada geese that fly in formation down the main channel just outside of our quiet cove. The humming birds love to visit our feeders and inspect the guests, while the goldfinches, bluebirds, chickadees, and blue martins call 'Four Generations' home. We are a 'Certified Wildlife Habitat' by the National Wildlife Federation. .We have a deep water cove where fishermen love to snag that catfish or large mouth bass and children come to swim. Let us give you the tour and I just bet you'll want to stay, where you have every convenience close at hand. This property is located between marker R32 and R32A in Bedford County and is centrally located (within 10 minutes) to stores, restaurants, marinas, gas stations, etc.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING? Bring your bath towels and lake towels, wash cloths, sheets, suntan lotion, favorite book (books available at the property), camera, sunglasses, life jackets, ski vests, rafts, personal cosmetics, all food, (spices are available at the property), charcoal, matches, garbage bags, etc.

Pleasant stay at 'Four Generations'

  • 4 of 5

The house is well maintained, clean, and spacious. It really felt like a 'home' versus a vacation rental. The owners are very pleasant to deal with. We enjoyed sitting in the shade of the deck level of the dock walk. The docks of neighboring properties are closely situated and we did have one unpleasant experience when the neighbors on the left got into a verbal brawl; the language and uncertain behavior sent us back up to the porch. This property is very child friendly. We enjoyed the birds, chipmunks, geese and ducks.

Owner's Response: We enjoyed sharing our lake house with you. It has been a wonderful place for us and our children, and grandchildren over the last 10 years. The homeyness is because of all the love shared within its walls.

VACATION AT SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our vacation at this lovely home on the lake.A great deal of attention was given to the details. We especially loved the game room/library,port-a -crib, and fishing pole rack. The home is off the beaten trail, but the directions were perfect. I would definitely go back and recommend to others.

Thank you for the use of your lovely home.

Clean Comfortable place to stay

  • 3 of 5

This lakefront rental was all it was listed to be. The location by road and by water was great for us. Even though the unit is not really huge, it has plenty of space with a good sized kitchen and dining area, and good sized bedrooms (with comfortable beds) and nice big bathrooms. The property was very clean and appeared to be well-maintained, and has a big deck in the back overlooking the cove. The owner provided excellent customer service and was very responsive and helpful. The only negative for us was that we typically look for pet-friendly rentals, so we would not be able to stay here as often as we probably would like to, but for the occasional time we are without our dog, this place works out really well. And I would recommend to family and friends and anyone needing a clean, comfortable, and convenient place to stay.

Owner's Response: We are glad to have any visitor stay at our pet-free place and is advertised as "No Pets" in the listing. We would love for you to bring your furry members of the family but cannot allow since we have family allergies to pets and stay at the house in the off season. Thank you so much for understanding.

Great Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at the "Four Generations" home. The house was clean and comfortable, and met all our needs. The deck out back was wonderful, with a great view of the lake. The cove were wonderful for swimming and enjoying the lake. And the deep water dock was perfect for a boat. Sherryl was very easy to work with, and made the experience very easy. I definitely recommend this property to others. Thank you for a great vacation.
