Wilmington House Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms, 2 Full Bathrooms, Sleeps up to 10

“Everest Dream” is where the Bluebirds play!

This Perfect Ski and Waterfront Rental Home offers truly Five Star Accommodations and is located only three miles from Olympic Whiteface Mountain!

It is a two story, 3 bedroom home with everything updated with comfort and aesthetics in mind! It has been designed and furnished with careful selection of antiques, contemporary pieces and original artifacts from around the world. The richness of the Earth tones welcomes all with its warmth and is in harmony with the surrounding nature.

The casual elegance and comfort of this house makes for a very special experience of Town and Country. 'Everest Dream' is nestled in a valley, in the village of Wilmington , providing breathtaking views of both Whiteface and Stephenson Ranges. It sits on almost an Acre of private, fenced-in property that includes over 80 feet of shoreline on Everest Lake. Favorite among our guest is the 140 square foot fully screened, overlooking water gazebo! Furnished with luxury and comfort in mind.

We are in the heart of the High Peak Region and at the foot of Whiteface Olympic Mountain. Renowned West Ausable River with its' World Class trout fishing is our shoreline. Here you can swim, fish or launch the canoe or kayaks available for you to use - for a mellow paddle or some serious bird watching! Lake Everest Beach with live summer concerts is just across the river. Some prefer to sit on the dock and chat or watch the water roll by. Perhaps later in the evening you'll stoke a fire in one of the two fire pits. The large yard is great for playing croquet, play with children or your animal friends.

In Wilmington, you can submerge in the unique experience of an authentic Adirondack Village. Walking to the store, village library or for a country breakfast at a nearby restaurant brings back the joys of a time gone by in most places but lingers here in the Adirondacks. Lake Placid Village with all that it has to offer is just ten miles away on the most picturesque road of the Adirondacks. Here you can enjoy shopping, dining, arts and crafts, museums, The Olympic Center, golf, horse shows, movies, festivals, nightlife, ... or 'in short' - hustle and bustle of this special, lively Olympic Village.

Ground Floor:

An Adirondack style porch, furnished in a comfortable, eclectic manner welcomes all! Perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee while watching the mist lift off the mountains, or sip the wine to the evening serenade of cicadas.

The large living room opens up to a majestic, ever changing vista of the Mountains. The easy comfort of a couch and armchairs invites to become one with nature. After the sun goes down one can be entertained by choosing from our collection of movies, music or books. The gas fireplace will add a warmth to the ambiance of the room as well as the people in it.

The antique dinner table sits eight, with room for two more at the kitchen island. Perfect place for the whole family to have an evening of card games, monopoly or good old-fashioned conversation. The kitchen is a state of the art affair. You'll find all the tools and gadgets needed for preparing magnificent meals, few cookbooks as well.

For summer cooking you may want to step out to the deck. There is a gas grill, picnic table and Adirondack chairs grace the beautiful lawn.

Our eight person Hot Tub with special features and extra powerful jets is everybody's favorite spot.

In our study you'll be surrounded and perhaps inspired by an interesting collection of art, books, or the glow of candle light. By night the queen size futon and hand embroidered screen from India transform it into a comfortable bedroom for two.

The ground floor bedroom, furnished with a casual, country elegance, provides a Queen Size Bed and is easily accessible for those who don't care to climb the stairs.

The main floor has a bathroom with a bathtub. We try to keep the Epsom Salt handy, for those achy muscles from all that active fun.

Second Floor:

The Master Bedroom is truly Masterful! A Queen Size Four Post Bed with a red canopy invites romance and the creation of special memories. The room is inviting and elegant with oriental touches, like the 17th century Chinese traveling chest.

For the little and big kids - a sunny room for happy times! Two sets of bunk beds, where the lower full size bunk folds into a couch during the day. The room is bright with color and hand-made art work from Guatemala.

Bathroom with a shower.

All the mattresses are brand new and of good quality. Bath and bed linens chosen carefully for their quality.

Review Submitted: May 1, 2008 Date of Stay: March 2008

This house really feels like a home. Every room has a very personal touch to it. The hot tub outside is a great asset and the kitchen is extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly want. In addition to relaxing in front of the fireplace and enjoying tons of space around the house, the surroundings were also very beautiful and peaceful. This was definitely an upgrade from the other houses we have stayed at in Vermont. The mountain is close and very easy to get to as long as you have a car. I would strongly recommend! A real Everest Dream come true ;p Thanks, Charles and Renata, for making our stay very comfortable and assisting with finding the keys at 11.30pm on a Friday night!

Truly a Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

Charles & Renata,

My family, my sister, other sister and her family truly enjoyed our stay. Your place was so comfortable, clean and gave us a feel of being at home. Everything that we needed was right there. Your description of amenities and everything else were to a tee and the information that you provided about places to eat, supermarkets and places to see were a great help. The location was perfect. It was so close to everything! The gazebo was such a delight to sit in early morning with coffee or late at night with a glass of wine :-). What a beautiful site sitting on your dock at the river. The fishing was also great. There was something for everyone of all ages to do including our dog. We are still talking about the wonderful vacation that we all had. Thank you so much for the memories that my sisters and our families will always treasure! I would recommend this property to anyone. Thanks again.

Perfect Long Weekend

  • 5 of 5

I had the best stay at Everest Dream! My friends and I went up for St. Patrick's Day Weekend and we had a BLAST! Extremely close to White Face Mt, the town of lake placid, and most hiking destinations. The house was perfect, and I can not wait to come back in the summer. Thank you for a wonderful vacation! I will be recommending this to everyone!

Cozy and comfortable

  • 4 of 5

Wonderfully cozy and comfortable house for a nice long weekend. It was six of us (two couples and two single guys), which was perfect. While the house is rated for up to ten, i think It might have been a little too crowded...

Wish my brother could have made it because his dogs would've loved the big backyard. Hopefully he can come up next year, because we most certainly will be.

Great rental to enjoy the Adirondacks

  • 5 of 5

We (me, wife & 2 pugs) stayed at Everest Dream for 4 nights in February 2016. The house is in Wilmington, an easy 15-minute drive from Lake Placid. The place can easily accommodate 6 or more people, especially kids. We took it because it's dog-friendly. The hot tub was a nice feature we used every night, and the gas fireplace heated up the main living area quite nicely. Summer renters could take advantage of the enclosed outdoor enclosure, as well as the canoe & kayak that could be taken right down to the Ausable River. Wilmington is pretty sleepy but the ride into LP along the Ausable is quite pleasant. And if you're skiing at White Face, it's little more than a 5-minute drive, and the High Falls Gorge is even closer. Quite affordable if you're sharing it with friends/family. We hope to stay again next winter; hopefully there will even be some actual snow on the ground!

Birthday Ski Weekend

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect! We had 9 people and everyone slept and lived very comfortably. The open floor plan kitchen/living room really made for some great quality time with all of our friends and we had several meals around the large dining table. The hot tub was a highlight especially when it started snowing. Everything was clean and very well maintained. We will stay here again for sure.

neat, clean, welcoming

  • 5 of 5

My husband, I, and our two small dogs were very pleased with the property, its location and its amenities. Renata was professional but also warm in our communications and all dealings went very smoothly and satisfyingly. She helped me with somewhat last-minute lodging arrangements after a very discouraging rental attempt from a different owner in another town and proved to be a breath of fresh air compared to the other owner.

The house was clean and nicely decorated. The Christmas lights created a lovely ambiance as did the gas fireplace which we used each night. The weather (wind) was a bit wicked and cold and we were only able to use the hot tub on the first night of our arrival.

I travel to this area at least once, if not more times a year, but it was my husband's first visit. We enjoyed some of the typical touristy activities of the area, such as the bobsled ride at Mt. Van Hovenburg (VERY worth the money!), taking the gondola to the top of Whiteface, touring the Olympic ski jumps, ice rink, and museum. Our most notable meals were at Smoke Signals and Big Mountain Deli and Crepery in Lake Placid, but also enjoyed a nice meal at Rosalia's in Wilmington. Lake Placid Brewery was a nice place to relax with a beer.

We took the dogs on some beautiful hikes on the trails near the house, checking out the Flume Fall trails as well as the Monument Falls trail. There was snow falling two of the days we were there, which made things so pretty.

I would not hesitate to rent from Renata again and would most definitely recommend the property to others! Thanks again!
