Beautiful Victorian cottage within 5 mins walk of Winchester City centre which is an amazing historic city in southern England, one hour by train or car to London. It was fully renovated and extended in 2013.
The house comprises sitting room, large kitchen/diner with french doors leading onto courtyard garden with barbecue. There is also a downstairs loo. On the first floor is a large double bedroom, single bedroom and large bathroom with bath and shower. On the second floor is a double bedroom with en-suite shower room.
Winchester was once the capital of England and is also close to the New Forest and south coast beaches. Stonehenge is half an hour away by car. We use it as a second home as our children are both at boarding school in the city.
Ideal for a couple, family or two couples traveling together.
I rented this property with my Husband, Daughter and Granddaughter. The house was extremely well appointed and exactly as advertised. It was in an ideal location for us as we came to visit both Winchester and Peppa Pig World. The close proximity to Winchester City Centre allowed us to visit and explore on foot. This location would also make it ideal to visit pubs and restaurants. We would certainly rent this cottage again. There was a problem with the parking as the residents spaces were always full during our stay, fortunately my husband has a “Blue Badge” which enabled us to park free of charge in the nearby Chesil Street Car Park”
I rented this property with my 2 daughters and son-in-law. The house was exactly as advertised. It is newly renovated, and has all the amenities we needed to make us feel truly at home. The best part of the rental is the incredible location. Though we had a rental car, the proximity to Winchester city centre allowed us to have pubs, restaurants and shops within a 5 minute walk. 5 minutes in the other direction was an entry point on to the south downs way public footpath, which went along farmland and provided an opportunity for us to feel like we were in the midst of the countryside. The owners Di and Trevor took us for a tour of the Winchester College campus, and their son Rory also showed us parts of the school as well...it was fantastic. I can't say enough of the property and owners, nor can my daughters and son-in-law. We had ample opportunity to have our own space within the rental and the easy walk into town allowed for us to each do our own thing as we saw fit. I highly recommend this rental and will explore its availability the next time I want to use a vacation rental in England. Thank you Di and Trevor for a special week...
