This is a spectacular home with many upscale features. Our home has been on the rental market since 2007. This 3,750 sq.ft. house has a spacious open floor plan with high ceilings and hardwood floors on the main level. The furnishings are all new throughout. The large great room has a fireplace, a serving bar, a 42' flat screen HD TV, and an excellent sound system. The kitchen is large enough to seat ten for dinner and is filled with every amenity needed for the perfect meal. The kitchen, great room and back porch flow together wonderfully which makes this house great for entertaining and perfect for all ages. The outstanding lake view can be seen from every room.
There are three master bedrooms with king size beds. Another bedroom with two double size beds and an additional bed room with a trundle bed (two twins), this room has a partition for the doorway. All mattresses and bedding are top-of-the-line for exquisite sleeping comfort. Each master bedroom has a private bathroom and plenty of closet space. The downstairs master has a 32' tv, a sunken jacuzzi tub, separate shower, tremendous walk in closet and doors that lead outside to the back deck. The beautiful lake view filled with abundant wild life is a joy to awaken to each morning.
A library filled with books for all ages, a game room with poker table and bumper pool will add to your enjoyment. Upstairs has a comfortable loft which is great for alone time or reading and taking in the lake view. If down time in front of the tv is needed then choose your room. We have a dvd collection with a variety of movies to choose from. There is a lovely screened-in porch off the kitchen and a large deck off the back of the house.
The house offers an outdoor enclosed shower with hot and cold running water. The propane grill is always ready for your use. The basketball area in the driveway is a fun way to relax in the evening. There are eight adult bikes and three children's bikes plus a toddler burley carrier and an equipment burley carrier stored in the four car garage. There are several sand chairs, kites, boogie boards and beach toys ready for a play day on the beach. We also have plenty of beach towels, a blanket and an umbrella.
Our location to the beach is a short walk/bike ride, 0.7 miles (3/4 mile) on the trail called Allie of the Oaks. The beach is 11 miles long and a thrill to bike on every day. This is the best beach biking we have ever experienced.
The island has about 30 miles of bike trails that meander everywhere you would like to go. World-class golf and tennis facilities are present on the island as well as a wonderful children's camp filled with exciting daily activities and excursions.
A marina with deep-sea fishing and sailing charters are located at the nearby Bohicket Marina. Easy access to the city of Charleston is a great addition to your vacation. Fine restaurants are present on the island as well as in the city.
When vacationing at 43 Trumpet Creeper Lane you will be enjoying a tropical oasis which is hard to find elsewhere on the East Coast.
My husband and I are thrilled to be owners on the island of Kiawah, S.C.
We have loved visiting here over the years and then a dream came true to buy a home here and to rent it for use when we are not visiting.
Our kids are grown now and we try to get together a couple times a year here to enjoy each other and everything Kiawah and our home have to offer.
We love to play tennis, bike the island, go to the beach and to hunt for shells. Lately my husband has gotten into fishing and cannot seem to get enough of that. My favorite past time at the house is to sit on the porch and watch the wildlife around the gorgeous lagoon in the back yard. I really miss my porch when I am not there.
Brenda purchased this house in 2006
Thanks so much for sharing your lovely home and Island with us!
We all had a wonderful time exploring with the bikes of course, this home is stunning, comfy beds, so spacious and what a view!!
Everyone had a memorable time~thanks again!!
P.S. We also so appreciated your exvcellent care and communication~we couldn't have asked for more.
We rented the house for my wife's birthday and housed the entire family comfortably. There was enough room for people to spread out yet there were large gathering areas so that we could all convene. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and cooking utensils making for mealtimes a communal affair.
Brenda was very helpful and constantly available even when we arrived during a storm that had knocked out the power. (restored after a couple of hours of "camp cooking").
The location was nice and quiet - right on a lagoon (with it's own gator)
Everything that people mention in the reviews is true. A very pleasant experience.
The photos do not depict how stately this home is...from its lovely grand foyer to the comfortable en suite bathrooms to the 10-foot ceilings and wide hallways! We loved having a truly comfortable and open floor plan for visiting and cooking together. The kitchen is very well stocked (all kinds of skillets, serving bowls, wine glasses, a blender, dish soap, etc.) and easy to work in while still being part of the group.
Having bikes available in the basement was a true bonus! Tire pumps and tools handy if necessary. One of the most fun times was riding to the ocean at twilight on the bikes. A couple times deer were spotted up close.
Our king-size bed/mattress was very comfortable, and our guests echoed this sentiment. The upstairs bedrooms are well-appointed (though we didn't find any extra sheets) and quiet enough for babies to take their day naps.
There is a lovely painted wooden rocker which is perfect for taking a special photo of the little ones on the front landing.
Brenda was extremely communicative and available any time I needed her by phone or by email. That is very important, because I couldn't find my papers upon entering the first gate to Kiawah! Brenda was only a phone call away.
There were a few negatives (some unrelated to the home, I realize) and they include the following. The extreme heat and humidity prevented us from enjoying the screened-in porch or deck. The sauna-like conditions in August and "jungle-like" nature of the island kept away any breeze. But the air conditioners on both levels did their jobs, and we were quite comfortable inside. Further, the ocean is very dense with sand so the water is very murky. I recommend taking the available ocean floats located in the unfinished basement which were still sandy from the last guests. The lawn of this home is not suited for children to play outside as the foliage is densex and (BIG) spiders build huge webs all around. It is beautiful, but plan on the beach for outside play. Lastly, the rinse-off shower is located underneath the screened-in porch in a shed-like structure that is dark and closed in, a small issue because there are plenty of showers inside.
We had such a good time in this beautiful home and want to thank the owners for listing it and for allowing us to experience the South Carolina's Kiawah Island!
Great home that is actually more (very) spacious than you might think from the pics. Wonderful view of lagoon from kitchen dining and back deck. Kitchen has everything you need. First floor Master bedroom suite bathroom couldn't be more luxurious ! Brenda very helpful through entire rental process and easy to contact. Stayed with our grown kids and granddaughter and had plenty of open space ( granddaughter got plenty of exercise).
Will probably visit Kiawah next year and Trumpet Creeper will be our first choice if its available !
We thoroughly enjoyed this Kiawah home. The yard and water views are beautiful. The house is spacious and well equipped. The beach is so close on foot or bicycle. We gathered around the game table every evening. We would definitely rent this home again and give the owners high marks for responsiveness and friendliness.
Had a great week. Beautiful home. Plenty of space. Being behind second gate is a plus. Bike were great to already have waiting on us without having to rent. Cant find one thing to complain about. Thanks for sharing your home.
We were lucky to find such a perfect home for children and grandchildren to join us at Kiawah the week after Christmas. The house was comfortable and well equipped. We all had fun riding bikes and taking long walks. We even spent an afternoon at the beach. We were surprised by the warm temperatures and took advantage of them. We felt safe letting our granddaughters take bike rides on their own. There are many opprortunities for activities. Some took a tennis lesson, others went kayaking and bird watching was fun even from the deck which overlooks a lagoon. Everyone said they would like to return.
