We really enjoyed our time here! The cabin is very accommodating with that 'up north' feel. Love the way the cabin sets off the road--it really feels secluded. Sand Lake is a nice clear lake although it is a little muddy by the shore as we discovered with our pups wading through. Also love the outdoor seating areas: fire pit and both decks. The roads around Sand Lake are perfect for bicycle riding. Be prepared to turn your phones off as there is no reception but it is a getaway after all! Yes, we would love to return to the Cumberland Cabin again!
Some friends and I needed a girls weekend away so we rented this cabin. Everything was perfect and owners were awesome to work with. Highly recommend this property for your weekend getaway!
What a charming place. Very warm and inviting. The area is beautiful with lots of hardwoods and wildlife. We had an excellent time. Caught a lot of fish, mostly Bass. The grandson loved the play area and the cabin is set back enough to provide privacy for the entire family. The dogs loved it too. The lake was clean and we couldn't have asked for better weather for the fourth of July holiday. Town is 10 minute drive and is nice to walk around. Everything you need is provided except food and clothes. We will be back.
Five of us spent a very nice prolonged late summer weekend here, along with our 3 dogs. The property was just as we expected from the photos and reviews-- quiet, private, and very relaxing. The location at the end of a long, no wake bay assures boat noise is minimal. We were able to catch enough panfish for our own fish fry, and enjoyed a couple delicious meals at the nearby Hilltop retreat. The fireplace and decks are great outdoor living areas, and the dogs enjoyed the yard as much as we did. The kitchen was well stocked. and the artifacts on the walls added such a nice touch. We all had a great time- Thanks so much, Deb!
If you have a dog, this is the place for you! Cabin was just like described. We called the owners on Sunday and were able to come up to the cabin 8 hours later and start our vacation. Our dog absolutely loved the cabin and how he could run around the yard and dock with very little supervision. Loft was huge and almost like its own suite. We went for a walk and got to see where turtles had hatched and left their shells and also some whole eggs that had ended upin the creek. Thanks for a great time!
My husband & I arrived late on Friday after a stop at the Turtle Lake Casino (which is only about 20 minutes away). The full moon was shining on the lake that was like glass, the cabin was warm and inviting and we settled in for a nice 3 day weekend. Even though we got skunked fishing and at the casino :) we had a wonderful time. There it was cool at night so we used the firepit outside and as it got cool lit a fire in the fireplace inside...perfect! Waking up in the morning in the bedroom in the loft with the large window looking out into the trees was so peaceful. Thank you for letting us stay on such short notice. It is a weekend we won't soon forget.
