Canoe or Raft through nature on the free flowing Delaware River with one of these exciting Pennsylvania Raft (or Canoe) Packages - Voted By PoconosBest as 'Best Rafting Package In Pennsylvania' -
You'll spend a day canoeing (or Rafting) down the Pennsylvania Delaware River in your own canoe or raft. Experience Whitewater - Class 2 or 3 rapids ( Not scary - just thrilling) depending upon the time of year. But the most enjoyable of the trip is experiencing the solitude of the river. Drift among islands, peer down at fish, maybe see an eagle or osprey soar over head (lots of hawks), paddle down the same river as pioneering settlers, experience the Delaware Water Gap.
If you are looking for a serene, relaxing and fun place to go to with your family and friends - then this is the place to go - really! The house was beautiful and very, very clean. Very sunny and soooooooooo much space! It was 7 of us and we all loved it! Owner was very responsive and kind to answer all the million questions i had while booking - such as thing had happened to me very rarely. The community is great - it has all you need to keep you busy and your kids entertained. We all were very pleased and very happy - we had an awesome time! We will be back this winter and many more times. Thank you.
We enjoyed our stay! We had a group of 21 stay here and had plenty of room. Having decks on every floor really contributed to spacious feeling of the property. I think the only two downsides were 1) We couldn't figure out how to make the bathroom doors lock. Just had to be proactive to knock before entering. Nothing major! 2) There had been a misunderstanding regarding our arrival which prevented the cleaning lady from getting things in order before we arrived.
Michael was very easy to deal with, and we are definitely going to keep this on our radars as we do annual trips to the Poconos with our students every fall. Thank you!
For 5 years I have been searching for the perfect house for my group's annual trip to the Poconos, this year I can happily say I found it. This place had enough beds for everyone. The entertainment room was great for watching sports and movies. The views from the decks were awesome. The house is a short drive to everything. The owner is great too. He gives you all the info you need and answers all questions quickly. We definitely will be back every year.
Stayed at this house in mid August . Place was convenient to everything. House had everything you need and then some. House was very clean and comfortable. The main living area is beautiful with all the wood trim only to be out done by the view off the 3rd floor deck. Incredible!!!
This home is WONDERFUL! The house is BIG so we were able to spread out and not be on top of each other which is great when you have 25 people. When we arrived we found it to be very clean and well stocked. There are 14 separate beds (we counted) including the pull out sofa bed. so those of us that weren’t a couple were able to get there own bed. The GIANT movie screen was great for Sunday football and the kids loved playing their video games on it.
The best though is the view at night from the fourth floor deck. AMAZING how many more stars there are in the sky when you leave the city!!!
The main floor is all wood as you can see in the pics. We found that there were permanent scratches in the wood floors. It didn’t bother us at all but, what a shame for the owner.
We highly recommend this home for any large group
We rented this house for a week in June for my extended family. 6 adults, 5 kids under 6. We enjoyed our vacation a lot! Not because of the house however.
Starting with the positives-very large house, felt roomy. House is split into 4 floors. Basement has 3 bedrooms, one with two sets of bunk beds, a bathroom, and an entertainment area with a pool table and a foosball table. The 1st floor has 3 bedrooms and a bathroom/laundry room. The 2nd floor has the kitchen, living room and a master bedroom/bathroom. The 3rd floor is an open loft with 2 queen beds and a twin. House was roomy, quiet. Good for napping kids. Close to Split Rock Resort’s indoor water park and golf course. Renting was straightforward. Directions/logistics all very easy. 1st floor tv projection tv was kinda fun. Nice views.
Cons: The 1st floor and basement were very musty smelling. Really. Moist humid basement. Carpet in the basement is very dirty. Needs serious shampooing or even replacement. Socks/feet turned black on the carpet. Probably due to people coming in from outside and wearing their dirty shoes in the basement. AC on 2nd floor and 3rd floor were broken. It was hot too. Being hot puts an extended family in a bad mood. Did not get fixed until Wed/Thurs. The fact that it broke the day we got there was not the owner’s fault, but it did reflect the overall nature of the house (see below). The 3rd floor AC filter had not been cleaned in a long time per the AC repair guy. The 2nd floor AC sensor had been giving an error message for a while before we got there and had not been addressed. In any case once the 3rd floor AC unit was fixed, it was more enjoyable. I do wish it had been addressed Monday instead of Wed/Thurs. Phone number for the owner had a full inbox. Phone calls not returned but emails were. However, once the AC unit was out, we noticed that only half the windows have screens, most of the screens were torn meaning we couldn’t open windows. Overall, the house showed a lot of wear and tear. The freezer door handle was broken. The 1st floor toilet was replaced the day we got there. Cleanliness was mediocre. We rewashed all the dishes. Smells bothersome. Many things cracked/rusted. Cheap dishes, utensils bent. Cooking utensils were plastic. Knives were dull. Propane tank for stove had a valve that was rusted shut. Could not use the grill. We brought out the electric fans (no AC) which were caked in dust. Gross. Overall also
This is our third time renting from the Coombes' and our first time in this house. The homes they offer are just amazing and this one is impressive beyond compare. There is so much to do in this house that we found it hard to leave each day for our scheduled plans. Lots of room for everyone we brought and a great time had by all. Thanks again for the accommodations.
