About Cheryl Shanks
We bought this property in 2017 and did a total renovation which we have just recently completed. We live in Indiana and love coming to Maryland's western shore and enjoying our Chesapeake Bayside second home. We have owned and rented an ocean front condo in Hilton Head Island, SC for 23 years and have had wonderful guests over those years and would love to offer the same experience to anyone wanting to visit the amazing Chesapeake Bay area.
Cheryl Shanks purchased this Condo in 2017
Why Cheryl Shanks chose North Beach
Our daughter, son-in-law and their 4 children live just 10 miles away from North Beach so for us this truly does seem like our home away from home. Being able to visit our family for longer periods of time was our original reason for purchasing this unit but once here we have fallen in love with the Chesapeake Bay and the village of North Beach and look forward to every trip back.
What makes this Condo unique
First and foremost is our incredible view of the Chesapeake Bay. The boardwalk, public beach and pier are directly in front of our condo. It is located within walking distance of shops and restaurants and is a short drive to historical sites located in the Washington DC and Annapolis area. In addition to all the monuments and museums on the mall, Arlington Cemetery and Fords theater are a must see in DC. The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center near Washington Dulles International Airport is the companion facility to the museum in Washington, D.C. A visit to Historic Annapolis and a tour of the Naval Academy are recommended. Also a short drive to Solomon Island where restaurants and art exhibits are located on the water and where the Calvert Marine Museum is located. This is a maritime museum, among its exhibits are the Drum Point Light, the bugeye Wm. B. Tennison, and the J. C. Lore Oyster House; the latter two are National Historic Landmarks

Vacation in north beach, MD
My husband and I just returned from a very relaxing vacation in north beach which is a small beach town in Maryland. Our condo was beautiful and right on the beach. It’s a very clean, friendly and safe area. We would definitely go again
If you are looking for peaceful relaxation, the North Beach is it. We spent a week in a very relaxing and spotless condo directly across from the beach. Our morning coffee was enjoyed on the deck watching the water and observing the morning walkers. Our afternoons at the beach were relaxing and cooling off in the water. The area to the right of the rocks is much deeper than going straight out as you enter the beach. You won't find waves just small ripples in the water. We went out to eat at Hook and Vine; Ketch 22, Traders, and Neptune's Seafood Pub all of which did not disappoint. At the end of the week, we were well-rested and content. Enjoy a stay and this quiet and quaint beach spot.
Great beach getaway!
Impeccably furnished, very clean, convenient to a small beach town. It has an elevator, small balcony overlooking the boardwalk, pier and beach. The study/tv room in the top floor is great, since it provides a second tv.
Be aware that there is a charge for using the beach, but the condo has four beach passes provided, so it is free if you stay here.
The beach is not like the Atlantic beaches, it is a bay beach with tiny waves, almost like a lake beach. The water is very shallow and protected, and so is really good and safe for small children. It is a family kind of beach, as is the town of North Beach.
Cheryl is a very responsive host. She has outfitted the kitchen with exactly the right equipment, right down to my own pots and pans. I recommend this condo highly, and we will probably go back next year.
Very Nice condo
We loved the condo right across from the boardwalk and beach. Everything is new and very clean. Owners were very helpful with any questions. Would recommend for small family. The only thing we wish we would have known ahead of time were the admission fees to the beach.
Thank you so much for your review, we really appreciate it!
There are 4 beach passes in our condo for our guests. I just checked with the guests who are in there now in case the passes were gone and they said they are there and they have already used them several times.
I am so sorry you didn't see them. Thank you for mentioning it as I will make sure that I check with our future guests to make sure they know the passes are there.
Exactly what we were looking for!
Property was ideally located across the street from boardwalk, beach, and bay. Balcony view provided relaxing ending to each night, Easily with in walking distance of dining and shopping. Property was clean and tastefully decorated. Would absolutely stay again.
Short trip for visit to the historic Washington DC and Annapolis area. In addition the White House, Capital building and all the historical sites and monuments located on the Washington Mall, Ford Theater, and Arlington National Cemetery are a must see along with Mount Vernon which is nearby. In addition to the Smithsonian museums on the Mall, the smithsonian museumsUdvar-Hazy Center, is the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum's annex at Washington Dulles International Airport in the Chantilly area of Fairfax County, Virginia It holds numerous exhibits, including the Space Shuttle Discovery and the Enola Gay.
