About Don Elliott
This property, much like all of Skagit Valley, is calm and inviting. We reflect that in our daily life, enjoying this beautiful space and sharing it with others. We work in real estate and really enjoy helping people here in this beautiful area.

This place is wonderful. The very private cabin has tons of windows overlooking beautiful farmland. The hosts were friendly, helpful and had lots of goodies for us in the cabin. They thought of everything. We will definitely be staying there again.
Lovely Country Getaway
This cozy cabin is nestled in a very secluded part of the Skagit Valley. You won't hear anything except for the occasional chicken, tractor, and (depending on the season) snow goose. We stayed for one night in February and could tell the hosts are experienced at staging homes, with all sorts of fun decorations and attention to detail that many other short term rental hosts overlook (Hotel Collection towels, complimentary snacks, spare mouth wash, higher quality soaps, high quality robes).
If you stay in the winter, be sure to place the fan downstairs and point it upstairs to even out the cabin's temperature. It can get cold given the amount of windows, but the views are well worth it.
Aww, thanks for the great comments! We really appreciate you noticing our touches. Looking forward to having you back here again. (And we do have a heater upstairs on the wall with the desk!)
Great little cabin with every detail considered
We loved this cabin! It's cozy and feels tucked away despite being only 10-15 minutes from a bunch of things. It's got a well appointed kitchen and all the towels you could need, extra blankets, free snacks, make-up remover towelettes, coffee, tea, etc. The beds were super comfy and we all slept great. In addition to the snow geese in the field, the bird feeders on the porch were abuzz with activity. Lovely little get-away, would stay here again.
Perfect setting for a peaceful getaway
The cabin and surroundings were beautiful! Lots of character to the cabin with big windows letting in lots of light. Amenities were great (heated blanket!), and we got to sit on the porch and watch the snow geese for hours. A wonderful setting to rest and unplug. The host was super friendly and helpful when we needed a last minute blender. Would highly recommend!
Awesome as always
Peaceful and immersed in the nature around it. Away from the bustle of the cities....everything I needed and will continue to stay again and again.
And you are always welcome!
Lovely Fir Island cabin
We had a wonderful time at this very special property on Fir Island—it's beautiful out in the fields, right next to the north fork of the Skagit River, with the possibility of going for a walk right along the dike. The cabin itself is well-maintained and very clean—perfect for a family. There are big windows that look right out across the island. We had a great view of snow geese, trumpeter swans, and bald eagles. Don was very welcoming and communication was excellent.
Skagit Valley offers a wide variety of attractions year-round, and it’s all nearby. La Conner ROCKS! From fun hangouts like the Conway Tavern and La Conner Pub to a variety of restaurants, wine tasting and shopping. We often hang out at the Rexville Grocery just down the road. It is a must-stop for sandwiches or just having a beer with the locals. A top weekend lunch spot is Tweets in nearby Edison. Fantastic home-cooked food for breakfast or lunch! The Conway Muse, Anelia’s Kitchen & Stage and the Old Edison Tavern are top destinations for live music lovers. Snow geese, swans and more migrate through here in the winter. You might hear the migratory bird hunters in the distance on a winter morning. There is a high water-table around the property in winter – sometimes lawns can get soggy in places. Daffodils peak in March, tulips abound in April, and festivals are happening all the time! Skagit Valley is home to an eclectic group of people – from artists to farmers. We find them all accepting and super-friendly. We've got lots of information on the Valley as well as Western Washington all in the cabin for you to see.
