Fell in love with Sandpoint first time we visited. Reminded us of Lake Tahoe!
The Owner purchased this house in 2004
We are close to the lake and sking. Perfect for summer activities as well as winter.
This lovely home is not on the water, but in a beautiful secluded spot nearby. The home is large and has several beds. The master bed and bath are grand, as are the living/dining area and deck. The downstairs has one large BR with two queens plus an additional BR with bunks. The downstairs bath is basic and a bit of a walk from the bedrooms. The kitchen is large and reasonably well equipped. When we arrived on a cool evening the main floor heated up well but the downstairs was very slow to warm. There is a nice pellet stove centrally located downstairs but there were no instructions and we couldn't be sure how to get the pellet feeder to work. When we tried turning on the fan for the pellet stove the switch shorted out so we gave up. The master bath is impressive but only one of the two shower heads in the large shower would function and neither the shower lights nor the lights over the jacuzzi would work. We also found that lights on the deck didn't work. Water pressure was spotty: the kitchen sink was the worst - only the spray hose had decent pressure. With these fixes this home would be excellent.
We had a great time at this secluded log home. Indeed, it is secluded, in that it requires driving on somewhat lengthy gravel roads to reach the home. But, once we found it, the home was very accommodating and wonderful. Plenty of room in the common areas and bedrooms to handle the 11 folks we had staying there. The construction of the home with the large log walls and stone chimney certainly added to the remote feel of being away from the hustle of normal life. We had mule deer visit every morning as well as some wild turkeys. The large mud/drying room was great to store skiing gear and let it dry out at the end of each day we skied at Schweitzer. It is not a long distance to Schweitzer but it does take about 45 minutes to drive there from this log home. The owners were very helpful and cooperative in making sure the place was ready for our arrival and with input we gave them afterwards. We had a great time and would recommend staying here to others.
This house was just as advertised, lots of room for a big family with kids of all ages. We enjoyed our entire time and tended to stay in the house a lot more than outside. Deer in the mornings were fun to watch and the people that we came across in the area were very friendly. The location was within reasonable distance of Sandpoint which has it's own attractiveness with the beach and downtown district. The lakefront property reference is a bit of a stretch but we were not disappointed at all. We're looking forward to coming back next year.
Our family of grandparents, kids and their little kids totaling 12 were thrilled with this rental house! The amount of space of the house and yard was perfect for running around. Our first day there it rained but because there was lots of room we didn't get cabin fever. We were glad for the washer and dryer!! The distance to Sandpoint was a bit far, but once there we found the park and beach which were not at all crowded. Pie at Panhandler was a must of course!! We got to see a number of deer run across the yard which was a plus!
The house was very clean and had everything that was mentioned. It was very private and was very lovely. The house is located 10 miles from Sandpoint, so, it took about20 mins. to commute back and forth from there. It is about 1 hour to Silverwood.
We had a little trouble with the fridge, but, it was handled very quickly by the owner!
The house does not have air conditioning. So, the evenings were warm on the main floor. But, the basement was nice and cool!
Would love to rent this place again next year!
Nice house with a great yard. Lots of room in the house for large amount of people. Very private location. Internet didnt work, no propane to use BBQ, no furnture on deck to use. House was well stocked except there wasnt any extra toliet paper. Overall I think it was good for the amount they charge.
Lake Pend Oreille is only a half of a mile away, Schweitzer ski resort is only 15 miles away, brand new Jack Nicholas golf course is 5 miles away.
