In one of the most beautiful areas in the south of Bari in the hills of Monopoli, in a striking panoramic landscape, born of our trulli.
"There was once a territory full of vineyards, cherry orchards and olive groves, kissed by the warmth of the sun. A place where it was written the history of our Puglia ... "
In one of the most beautiful areas of the coast of Bari, in the hills of Monopoli, in a striking panoramic landscape, in an oasis of tranquility, time stops to give you the pleasure to enjoy the scents that our country is able to offer . A set of cones and lamia in local stone, recently restored welcoming, are ready to welcome you to let you experience the thrill of living in a trullo. The villa, which was inaugurated in September 2012, consists of five rooms, comfortable and welcoming. A master bedroom (with cot), a double with bunk beds, spacious living room with sofa bed, kitchen with all mod cons and bathroom with shower. Outside, a large flower garden is the setting for a gazebo furnished with tasteful pergola in which to dine, perhaps using the BBQ provided. Finally, swimming pool with sun terrace and outdoor shower. Our villa sleeps up to 6 people. Our rates include VAT, initial and final cleaning, electricity, water with hot water, laundry, air conditioning, complimentary toiletries for each guest, gazebo, deck chairs and everything necessary for pleasant grills at no additional cost.
Our trulli can be a good starting point for the area with its history, art, landscape and natural beauty. Among the many possibilities, we recommend:
At about 8km
World famous for the presence of the famous Trulli, Unesco World Heritage for Humanity,
Monopoli, Polignano a Mare and the Adriatic Sea
At about 8 km
Coming down from the plateau is reached with ease, along a very scenic road, Monopoli, a town of about 50. 000 inhabitants and the beautiful sea.
Destinations recommended: the castle, the abbey of St. Stephen, the civic clock tower, the ladder, a cove near the city, and the 'Chapter' area, about 5 km south, rich in plants and very beautiful tourist facilities.
At about 26km.
The city, located on the southern edge of the Murgia, is characterized by the remarkable historic center, dominated by the Baroque style. Considerable the Basilica of San Martino and the Palazzo Ducale, and the white and stately homes alleys.
At about 15 km.
karst caves and cavities, extends underground for about 3 km. There are two paths indicated for the visit: that short of about half an hour and the full one, which takes a couple of hours. Well spent though!
We recommend without doubt the visit to the cavity called 'the Grave', with a height of about 60 meters and the 'white' caves, considered among the most beautiful in the world, and 'black'.
The Fasano safari zoo
At about 5 km.
First safari zoo in Italy and among the largest in Europe, the zoo safari of Fasano contains a multitude of different animal species in a 150 hectare park. Dolphinarium characteristic, unique in South Italy, the monkey park and gorilla area. The property also has an amusement park, Fasanolandia with attractions aimed at various age groups.
The white town of Ostuni
At about 28km.
Known as the White City because of the houses painted in white lime, Ostuni is a post town about 10 km from the very distinctive sea. Also called 'the city Nativity', Ostuni is a must; to visit: the old town, particularly the cathedral, the monastery of the Carmelites, Villa Nazareth, the column of Sant'Oronzo and Aragonese walls, sipping an aperitif at one of the adjacent rooms.
The Sassi of Matera
At about 70km.
The Sassi, a UNESCO heritage, constitute the heart of the town. These are homes built in the tufa, behind a deep ravine, the Gravina of Matera, which divides the city into two distinct areas: the Sasso Barisano and Sasso Caveoso. Very special, apart from the excavated buildings, they are the sewer systems and water storage, necessary because of the considerable distance from water courses.
Castel del Monte
At about 100km.
Castel del Monte is a landmark octagonal plant, formerly the residence of Frederick II. Although it is commonly called 'castle' you not yet mastered the function of the building, as lacking the typical defenses of a fortress (ditch for example) and a number of other details, such as too small slits for the use of arrows. Even the hypothesis that it was a hunting building does not find evidence: missing the stables, just to name one.
The most accepted theory credits in Castel del Monte the temple function or studies of residence. To all the effects it exudes a feeling of calm, both for the position, for both the symbolism present, increasing the feeling of tragic nature of the place.
There are many esoteric theories associated with Castel del Monte. Even ignoring the truth of what is left no doubt that it is one of the most charming places of Puglia and perhaps of the whole Italy.
The baroque in Lecce
At about 100km.
Lecce is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in South Italy. The old town, permeated by the art of baroque's most prominent landmarks, has contributed to the affectionate name of the city: the Florence of the South.
Meta absolutely indispensable both for the already mentioned artistic beauty, both for the great food, Friselle in the first place, both for the marinas located in the vicinity of the city.
At about 90km.
rich in history, Trani is on the coast north of Bari. Renowned for good food, especially seafood and for a stone of Trani, feature stone much sought stone, Trani is worth a visit to the port, the Cathedral and the Castle Svevo.

A fantastic little holiday property
We were amazed when we arrived at the trullo - it looked just like the fantastic buildings that we'd seen on television and the Home and Away photos didn't lie!
We were met by Stefania who took us to the site and she was so helpful and welcoming; the gifts of local produce that were left for us were delicious and very thoughtful.
The trullo was very clean and compact and had most of the things that we needed for a very enjoyable week; the change of temperature between (rainy when we left) UK and Puglia was quite stunning for a pair of Brits and the thing that could have made it a bit easier would have been a fan to move the air around and keep us a bit cooler. We rapidly learnt to keep the doors and window shutters closed throughout the day and open all night. The pool was great in the heat and the shaded area was also good - but you still need the suntan cream under it.
We stumbled across a great little restaurant (La Mia Terra) on our way to the trullo and visited it a few times - though we are sure that there were many others of the same quality within the local area, but we couldn't sample all of them in one week!
We also found a little local shop with friendly and helpful staff who could cope with our pidgin Italian (next to the Eni petrol station in Impalata); they easily met our daily food needs, so that we didn't need to wander too far from the trullo. We did explore the region a bit - trips down to the beach at Capitolo, the market at Alberobello and a trek to Taranto, but we didn't feel the need to go too far away from our little bit of heaven.
Mille grazie, Stefania.
We are very happy that you spent a great time with us in Puglia.
I followed your advice: from August, the trullo has air conditioning.
All the best
We have just spent 4 nights at the Trulli and this was our favourite place we stayed after spending a month in Italy.
Stefania was great from the start with contacting us before arrival to meet us and take us to the house as it is in quite a remote location.
The trulli is very clean and well decorated. The kitchen is jam packed with utensils and has plenty of basic food stuffs to start you off, also on arrival we received fresh ricotta and foccacia, salami, wine and a few other pieces as a gift from the families farm which was much appreciated.
The outdoor area with pool and bbq was perfect for the warm weather we had and is all well maintained. Wifi was great also.
Would not hesitate in recommending this great property to anyone. Thanks Stefania
Hi Brent and Beth, it was really a pleasure to meet you and your beautiful family. I hope to see you again. I'm happy that you can bring with you a beautiful experience. All the best
Beautiful house , welcoming hosts
We had a fantastic week in this superbly restored Trulli house . It is about 10 km from Monopoli. The house has a small pool and a very nice terrace . In the house there are two bedroom (one for children, one with queensize bed), a dining room with a smal sofabed, kitchen and bathroom. Everything is very nicely decorated and you will find everything you need. Stefania picked us up at the freeway, even it was late at night and led us to the house. There we found wine and delicious specialties from the region for us as a welcome gift. Thank you very much for the nice week at your Trulli House.
Beautifull Trulli in a typical Puglia surrounding
We had a VERY nice time in this beautifull Trulli, which was very nicely decorated, nice clean and exactly like we saw on the pictures. You can clearly see that the owners do a lot of effort to keep the house in a good condition. Bed was comfortable, climate in Trulli was good (thick walls), and kitchen equipment was complete.
At arrival, the owner waited for us at the exit from the highway which was very welcome to us, because going to the house the first time can be tricky to find it. Also she went to show us the supermarket, so that we could buy our first things. Also during the whole week, she gave good support to us; helping us with restaurants and even once cooking for us a delicious melanzane parmigiana!! Very tastfull! The surrounding area is very beautifull, very quiet, and in the evening you can hear nice sounds from the nature ;-)
The Trulli is located quite in the centre of valle d'itria, so that means that most touristic spots are easily and quickly to find within a close distance. Also enough restaurants are nearby the Trulli, between 5-30 minutes driving. Traffic in Puglia is so much more relaxed compared to for example Sicily or more to the North, what a relief!!
We can really recommend this beautifull Trulli !!!
The property is a few kilometers from the most beautiful tourist areas of our beloved Apulia: Monopoli with its imposing Castle of Charles V and the most beautiful seaside resorts, the trulli of Alberobello, Caves of Castellana, the Zoosafari of Fasano, the Museum D'Egnazia, Polignano a Mare, Savelletri, Torre Canne, Matera, Cisternino, and the white city of Ostuni.
