About Chris Marino
We are the fourth generation of family to own this home. Continuing the families decision to settle in the "Pelham Bay" section of the Bronx, we continue to enjoy the privacy and accessibility of this area and this home. We love the seasons and the special outdoor activities of the 4 season in NYC. Were amateur local foodies too, so don't hesitate to ask or check out or guide to local restaurants and attractions.
Chris Marino purchased this House in 1950
Why Chris Marino chose Bronx
Our family arrived in the United States a century ago in search of a better place and a better life. Our NYC Hideaway is one of the final places where we call “Home”. Honoring our family’s decision to settle in New York City in search of a better life we look forward to sharing their vision with you. We look forward to having you as our guest while truly enjoying a better way of staying and appreciating your time in New York City.
What makes this House unique
Our fully fenced (6' tall fence with coded security lock) tranquil backyard garden, rich with vegetables, flowers, and grapevine; its a rare treat in a vacation rental. Enjoy sitting on our authentic Bronx "Stoop" made of genuine New York Mined Blue stone, you'll get to meet and appreciate how nice the neighborhood residents are, and you'll leave felling like your one of us. NYC hideaway review
I cannot say enough good things about this property and this experience. I would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Bronx. My daughter is a student at Fordham Univ. and it worked out perfectly. Apartment was spotless and the host was more attentive than a newlywed husband:)
Thanks so much for the compliment on our cleanliness and the concierge service that we offer. With Fordham university so close more and more Fordham parents and alumni are using our home for when they visit their kids who attend Fordham. Please make sure to "plan and book your stay" long in advance for special events at Fordham as these dates tend to book out months ahead. We're looking forward to having you stay again and each time you visit your daughter at Fordham University. Thanks again for choosing and enjoying NYC Hideaway and the LOL on your las comment...
Great accommodations. We really enjoyed our stay.
Everything was easy and comfortable. The door code was ready to use. Great directions. Chris even has some helpful ideas about how to get around and where to go.
So glad my daily texted tips about the area were helpful. Looking forward to having you back again soon.
Aug 2019 stay
The place was immaculately clean and added advantage was the prestine vegetable garden. Chris keeps us informed on the places to go and restaurants to eat. Parking is a bit tricky but there is a print out on the kitchen on parking site suggestions. Will definitely recommend this.
We’re so happy that you liked our daily tips and suggestions as to restaurants and local activities. We strive to create a “Resort like” experience and not just an apartment for rent (like so many other places). Glad you found the map that we provide to the alternate parking area around the corner (for those occasions when there is no available spaces directly in front of the house). That’s so much for choosing to stay at “NYC Hideaway”.
Great experience, but parking was tough
Everything on web site was point on ,
It is great knowing how much your family has enjoyed staying and enjoying not only the accommodations but the garden as well. Unfortunately, during your stay they were making improvements to the streets and utilities in our neighborhood. The good news is that they are completing that work this week, parking is now better and our neighborhood has become even more beautiful. I hope you used the map that I provided for the alternate parking area just around the corner where there is always available parking just a few minute walk away (when there is not a space directly in front of the house). Thank you so much and we look forward to your return.
Awesome condo. The owner was our own personal concierge. The fresh vegetables from the back yard garden were a special treat.....and the waffles! Great 5 star experience. And I own a 5 star Ritz. Carlton!. Stew
We are very flattered by your expert opinion of our “Resort Vacation Home”. Certainly, other travelers who are interested in our property will appreciate your opinion as much as we do. Thank you so much for staying and please come again. Wishing you all the best.
NYC HIDEAWAY IN THE BRONX
I have been using vrbo for 12 years and this is the most incredible place I have every stayed. Chris is truly an innkeeper; anticipates all your needs and provides them. He was in contact every day and gave us fantastic recommendations on where to eat, what do see, places to go, things to do. The location is a short walk to the 6 train and the subways were very easy to navigate. They took us everywhere we wanted to go within reason. Chris has a group of drivers that are available to pick you up and return you to the airport or anywhere else you need to go downtown. Their rates are competitive with taxis and Uber and they were prompt and friendly. The best feature of the NYC Hideaway is the beautifully tended garden; we picked fresh strawberries and vegetables for salads and side dishes. Everything was fresh and delicious! If you are visiting NYC, this is definitely the place to stay.
Thanks so much for sharing the many things that set our "Resort Vacation Home" apart from Hotels and apartment rentals. We have gone quite far to create "A Total and Unique Resort experience". We love directing our guests to the best attractions, restaurants and more; and we personally frequent everything we recommend to ensure that we recommend only the best to our guests. Your experience here at “NYC Hideaway” is the target goal for us and fortunately, our guests seem to consistently have similar experiences. Thank you so much for choosing NYC hideaway and Please join us again whenever you visit New York City, Long Island, Northern New Jersey, Upstate New York or Western Connecticut. Best Regards Chris Marino Inn Keeper/Concierge
