Guestbook comments from the manager

We recently traveled to North Captiva Island and stayed in a rental home - Silver Sea Shell. The home was very nice. The owners seemed to think of everything a visitor could need - nicely decorated and very comfortable and close to the beach with views of the Gulf. This was our first trip to he island and the travel plans can be a little intimidating but everything went just fine. I really think this had alot to do with Sarah Rapp who booked the vacation home for us. I can't say enough about how helpful she was and always available for questions. She was amazing! We arrived during tropical storm Debbie so our weather was bad until Tuesday. The pool area is very private with a large covered area adjacent to the pool. There is an oversized table and chairs there which was very nice and allowed to us to spend time outside when the weather was not the best. You absolutely must bring your own groceries - we preordered from Publix - and other than a few minor mistakes it went very well. One complaint we had was that although Ncic did transport our luggage and groceries to the house but they left them outside in the pouring rain !!! The bagged groceries were in plastic bins but the cases of soda, beer etc were not covered and simply fell apart when we tried to carry them into the house. Felt they could have covered our things - including the luggage - with something until we were able to carry it in. We had dinner at the Boat House and it was excellent. Alicia - our chef and Hilary - our hostess were wonderful. Do not miss having the experience of dining there - we loved it !! The golf cart was lots of fun and a great way to get around the island. North Captiva Island is simply beautiful. We were looking for a relaxing vacation with nothing to do but enjoy our surroundings and spend time together without all the hustle bustle of everyday life. It was exactly what we wanted. A very memorable vacation !!

My family and I stayed at this property the summer of 2010 and had such a great time. We came to celebrate two college graduations so our ages ranged from 20s-50s. The whole island was pretty much empty besides a wedding party- we still didn't see or hear much of them. Loved the property- it fit all 8 of us perfectly. We made great use of the kitchen/dining area- fully set up with all the place settings and cooking tools you need! The island itself was great, so much to offer! We went jet skiing, used the golf carts, and had an amazing dinner at the restaurant all to ourselves. We felt like the island was ours! The staff was very accommodating and friendly- everything was great! We've had many family trips over the years and this is definitely the one we still talk about- and will be talking about for years to come!

great house/location, "loved it"

  • 5 of 5

This was one of our best vacations. We stayed at this house August 2010 and loved it. It was very clean and well mantained. We saw sea turtles, manatee's & dolphin's. Every morning we had breakfast in the screened in porch, and every night we were on the roof top gazing at stars and sunsets "what a view". Owner keeps this house immaculate and is on top of everything. Short walk to beach. Abundance amount of dvd/movies. Pictures and description are very accurate. Everything was wonderful and we cant wait to go back.
