The Lake House is well known in the upstate Cooperstown area. It has a long and rich history that dates from the 1840s. When it became available, we decided to purchase it, renovate it and enjoy living in a historic building. It is where Gene and I had our first date so it holds many special memories for us, too. We are celebrating 170 years of operation as The Lake House moves into 2013.
Located only 15 minutes from Cooperstown and 20 minutes from Dreams Park, the Lake House is a unique place to enjoy Baseball Country. With 14 bedrooms- all with their own private bathrooms, the Lake House offers the convenience of a restaurant/tavern on the first floor and your own kitchen on the second floor where you can cook for yourself. Third floor has five large rooms with private baths. Fishing, watching the sunset, relaxing with a cold one on the deck or having a BBQ while you watch the kids play on the lawn next to the lake, the Lake House offers families and teams a gathering place to recap the days activities and plan for the next. Large outdoor stage new in 2013 for many events for baseball awards, concerts, Live Music with dancing, Large Festivals.

This property is RIGHT on the water! I guess we're going to have to come back when it's swimming season. Pet friendly. Antique shopping in nearby Cooperstown.
This lake House is ideal for multiple generations and multiple families. Space indoors for meal prep and dining, lounging, playing cards/games, Ommegang Cooperstown Tour! We loved seeing the fog on the lake in the morning and we even spotted a pair of Bald Eagles in the afternoon in a tree next to the lake. We cooked all of our meals on the kitchen grill and in the kitchen and there was ample room and appliances. I highly recommend this place.
The Lake House is in beautiful condition for being 175 years old, and is extremely well appointed, they have everything you need there. The location is also excellent, and it took us less than 20 minutes to get to Dreams Park. We visited other families who stayed at other locations, and we all agreed ours was the best.
We had a wonderful time at the Lake House! The house was so cozy and the view is amazing! It was very close to the BEST of Cooperstown - 10 minutes to Otsego Lake and the Lake House sits on a very large lake called Canadarago Lake. All of the furniture and décor are very well thought out, functional and comfortable. The family room/dining room has a great open feeling and larger windows that overlook beautiful grounds and the lake which makes the lake house feel even that much larger. We loved this property!
What a great place you have. We can say enough good things. The place was immaculate and so comfortable. The town house is of quality construction, beds are very comfortable, kitchen and baths are very clean and well stocked. The lake and grounds are an added plus to this spacious town house. The kids enjoyed fishing and canoeing in the lake. If you are thinking of booking here you wont be disappointed.
As Advertised... We had a great time in Cooperstown at this property. The grounds are majestic and the lake a perfect place to relax after a long day of cheering on our baseball team. The lake house and property were perfect, very clean, but needs better outdoor lighting. It was close to Dreams Park, a grocery store, a Library and places to eat. The backyard was awesome and it was great to be able to BBQ. It was even better to just sit, swim and take in the beautiful scenery. It was very peaceful and quiet. We have already recommended this hotel to a group for next year.
Our family of 6 really enjoyed our one-week stay here. As grandparents we had our own room at the Lake House that was very comfortable. Everything was as advertised-clean,neat and functional and reasonably priced. We ate many of our meals in the restaurant as we did not go to all the games at Dreamspark and had more time to ourselves.
The Lake House is equipped with a good amount of utensils, pots/pans, plates, coffee, towels, etc that some of our family used daily in the kitchen. The owners were great working with us, the location could not be beat and we all had a great time. The complimentary bon fire on the lake was very much appreciated!
