Guest Book Comments: Richard, I just wanted to tell you that we had a wonderful time at your cabin. I was a little skeptical about renting a place we had never seen from someone we had never met, particularly with having to pay the full cost so far in advance. I am glad that I took the chance because the cabin and the location were all that I hoped for. We had a great time in the game room and really enjoyed the outdoor hot but. Actually, the cabin and surroundings were perfect and exactly as advertised. I hope to rent from you again next year. :)
We enjoyed our time in the mountains and at the cabin. It is very nice indeed!
Guest Book Comments: Mr. Singer,
I had to email to tell you how much my husband and I enjoyed our stay at your wonderful home!!! We were very impressed with the accommodations. The cabin was awesome and the surroundings were breathtaking! The time provided us with some much needed rest and relaxation. We are considering a return visit March 21st – 23rd, 2008. I see that the cabin is available during this time and I’d like to know what the cost would be. Thanks again so very much!
Just wanted to let you know we thought the cabin was great!! We really enjoyed the game room. Hope we can use it again sometime.
We returned yesterday from a most wonderful stay in the NC mountains....perfect weather, glorious fall colors, not much traffic anywhere.....loved it! Drove back via the Smokies....I've never seen such RED before....so many sugar maples at their peak....what a treat! The drought scared us into thinking there wouldn't be any color ANY where, so we were thrilled!
Guest Book Comments: Richard, we had a great time at the cabin, very nice weather and the cabin was nice as promised. Had no problems at all, other than it took some time to figure out the fireplace….We really enjoyed the fact that it was “off the beaten path” and up a solitary winding mountain road after a scenic drive.
Just wanted to tell you want a wonderful time we had at your cabin this past weekend. It truly lived up to my expectations and beyond!!

We built the cabin for retirement income. The Hendersonville area has alot to offer the short and long term visitor.
We found the cabin to be much nicer that what we expected. Everything was very clean and the bed in the master bedroom had a feather bed feel to it. Very nice touch. The hot tub on the private deck was also a nice extra. Location is close to downtown Hendersonville, as well as, Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. Easy to reach from I-26! Certainly will go back and would not hestiate to recommned this cabin to anyone looking for a vacation, or just a short getaway. Just can't say enough good things about it.
The stay was super nice, the cabin had every thing we need and Excelent environment, the owner was attend to our calls and questions, we had a very fun time, will come back!
The location of the property is very quaint. We liked the privacy it gave and the view of the stars at night without any light pollution. The cabin was a comfortable size for our family of 4. The kitchen is stocked with plenty of pots and kitchen supplies and spices to help you in case you forgot anything. And we enjoyed the gas fireplace which a gave the cabin a coziness.
The down side for us was when we pulled back the covers on the bed and hairs were all over the sheets and pillowcases. The more I looked, the more I saw and it was quite an uneasy feeling to think perhaps the sheets were not washed. At 10:30 p.m. there was no choice but to wash the sheets and we found the washing machine to be ancient. It put a damper on our night and entire trip because we just couldn't shake that uncomfortable feeling that the bed was unclean. Also, the refrigerator should be replaced because it is very loud and at times if watching television you have to turn it up due to the noise of the refrigerator.
My sister and I loved Black Beary Cabin. We will definitely go again. This home on Bear Wallow Mountain was lovely. We enjoyed our stay. Only wanted to stay a little longer....Perhaps next year. Thank you so much for sharing this home.
We stayed at Black Beary as a girl's retreat for some high school friends. It was a great time, cabin is as stated and actually has recently been painted on the exterior so it really blends into the setting. Ceiling fans in all rooms which is a plus. Kitchen was great and view is awesome! Hot tub was a great plus. We didn't get to enjoy the fire pit due to recent wildfires but we had a great time in spite of that. One word of advice: the actual road to the cabin and what makes it such an ideal remote getaway is gravel and steep. We were able to navigate in a 4 door sedan and mini van but during poor weather conditions, it could prove tricky. Once you get to the cabin though, you'll appreciate the trip taken. You are very close to Hendersonville @ 64 which offers numerous restaurants and shops.
If you're looking for a remote cabin, this is a fantastic choice. Spacious bedrooms, everything you need, wonderful jacuzzi and fire pit, and we had many rousing ping-pong games in the big game room. Highly recommended!!
