The property is located in the historical centre of Venice in the area of Rialto (few steps to famous Rialto bridge) and a short walk to St Marks Square. It is composed of 1 bedroom, living room with kitchen and double sofa bed, small panoramic equipped terrace overlooking the rooftops. Very attractive flat in characteristic and typical location in the Rialto quarter.
The flat is in a quiet area however well serviced with food stores and all kind of shops close by so that you can fully enjoy typical Venetian life style
The Rialto market is just nearby, you can't miss a visit to the coloured and full of local products stands
Also not faraway is the Gondola boat stop to cross the Grand canal and reach Strada Nuova with its shops and typical restaurants.
This flat is ideal for people looking for a romantic holiday in Venice
You can easily walk to main historical and interesting places of the city from this location, but far from noisy tourist quarters.
The flat is located in the central area of Rialto (the famous bridge crossing the Grand Canal, main water way of the city) right in the heart of Venice . A very good location to walk everywhere to the main sites.
At only few steps there is the Grand Canal:you can enjoy a gondola ride simply by crossing the canal with local Venetian people.
The flat has a small terrace with table and chairs with a nice view on the roof tops of Venice.
This is the oldest bridge and spans the Grand Canal. It probably dates back to 1172 and was originally in wood. In 1557 the Venetian Republic put out a tender for rebuilding the bridge in stone. The architects who competed for the tender includes Palladio and Sanmichieli. The tender was awarded by Antonio da Ponte and in 1591 the bridge was inaugurated.
Church of S. Giacometto.
Perhaps the oldest church in Venice. It is still laid out in the form of a Greek cross. Opposite, we have the 'Gobbo di Rialto' which was built by Pietro da Salò in 1541. Next to it, there is the 'Pietra del bando' from which the decrees of the Venetian Republic were read out. This was the commercial heart of Venice, where merchants met to hammer out their agreements and where the Banco Giro was located. This bank was already in existence in the twelfth century and enabled credit to circulate San Polo Square.
It gives its name to the district.
We stayed in this aparment for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. The location is perfect, vaporetto stop 200 metres away, realto market and a lot of nice shopes in close vicinity and a great trattoria Cantina de Spade in the next building. The apartment is equipped with everything you need for a comfort stay, we were met and greeted by the russian speaking representative of the owner and got a lot of useful advises from her. The terrace is so calm and tranquile - it is a real bliss after noisy streets full of tourists.
Apartment is in a great location, just a few minutes walk from the Rialto Bridge. Paola was there to meet us and is a really lovely lady who was extremely helpful & friendly.
The apartment itself was beautiful & extremely well stocked with everything you could possibly need, it was well worth climbing all the stairs for !
We would recommend this apartment & would definitely lobe to stay there again.
Paola gave us a warm welcome and showed us round the lovely apartment tucked up under the eaves. We found it comfortable and clean, well kitted out and with very useful air conditioning. We were delighted with the little balcony and the views of St Mark's Campanile to the south and the Basilica of Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari to the west, just visible across the red pan-tiled roofs and chimney pots all. The apartment is in a great spot, very quiet but close to the Grand Canal, with the fish market, the fruit market and plenty of little shops and restaurants close by. We thoroughly recommend this apartment, and intend to return next year!
We have been travelling for many years to Venice. And as such, we have over the years had a lot of experience regarding accomodation. And this apartment is the best we have encountered. It is situated minutes away from Rialto Bridge (and more importantly the Rialto Market). Initially we thought that this would be a totally tourist-neighbourhood, but in fact it is very very cosy and local. Lot of friendly italians, nice shops, and good restaurants (Paola will give advice about that). The apartment has a very nice woodbeam-roof, good aircondition, nice bedroom, bathroom, and a livingroom with a well-equipped kitchen-corner. And - most importantly, a really nice altana, overlooking the roofs, the daily life, and so quiet (only church-bells adding to the joy). The altana is oriented towards St. Mark Belltower, which you can see, and in the late afternoon shadowy, perfect for a drink and a good meal from the market. We have always been taking care of, by Paola, for any questions. We look forward to our next (many) stays.
Paula met us on our arrival, answered all our questions and gave us tips on what to see and where to eat. She was readily available at the end of the phone or by email during our stay. The apartment is exactly as described in the listing - airy and spacious - though as it points out, you need to be able to climb the 4 flights of stairs. The location is ideal - just a couple of minutes from Rialto Bridge, but away from the noise and bustle. Everything worked, including the wifi and air conditioning, and the washing machine and drying facilities were a nice added bonus. We would visit again and have no hesitation in recommending it to others.
Vielen Dank😘
