|Minimum Stay||2 - 6 nights|
A post and beam house in a perfect location! Two miles to the village and recreation path and eight miles to the lifts. On a dead end road and perched on a hill for scenic views, this is your ideal retreat.
Depending on the season, walk in and drop your hiking gear or skis in the mudroom. Move on to enjoy an abundance of light and the open floor plan. When it is cold the warmth of the wood fireplace compliments the exposed woodwork creating a comfortable gathering space for family and friends. When it's warm open the windows for fresh air inside, and outside sit on the deck or on the wooden adirondacks to enjoy the greenery, privacy and starry nights. There's nothing like unwinding in this peaceful setting after a day of hiking, biking, shopping, skiing, snowshoeing - any and all of Stowe's many activities.
Upstairs, there is the master bedroom with a cathedral ceiling, view of the mountains, king bed, and its own bathroom. There are two more bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with two twin beds. These include high ceilings, a skylight , and a mountain view. In the hallway there is also a full bathroom separating the master bedroom from the other two bedrooms. To sleep a maximum capacity of eight, you will find a sleeper sofa in the den on the main floor, conveniently located near the ¾ bathroom and separate from the gathering space.
NOTES: Recently renovated, this rental has brand new appliances, linens, and furnishings. If you are traveling with a little one, a crib, high chair, glider and ottoman, pack and play, and safety gates are available. Well-behaved dogs will be considered, but please no other pets allowed.
This is a lovely, cozy home in a convenient location. The house is well-equipped with a large fireplace that was a delight on cold evenings. There is good water pressure in the showers and the beds were very comfortable. The master bedroom is huge. The neighbors are far enough away that we weren't even aware of them. The town is an easy 10 minutes drive. Burlington (45 mins) and Woodstock/Quechee (70 mins) were easy to get to. When there was a minor problem the caretaker had it fixed within the hour. Sarah was so helpful, with suggestions for activities, restaurants, etc. When we had to cut our stay short (due to a hurricane at home) she offered to let us stay until her next booking!
We stayed here two years ago and it truly felt like we had come home when we opened the door. There were four of us for the previous visit, along with two dogs, and now we had the addition of our ten month old grandson. The owners provided all the equipment needed for the baby--a crib, a pack and play, highchair, and even a bath tub! The house is spacious, and with three bedrooms and three bathrooms, we were not in each other's way. This could not be a better location for us, five minutes from the center of Stowe, and yet so quiet and peaceful. We hope to return again to this pretty, comfortable, and charming home.
This house was perfect for our group (4 adults - 1 baby - 1 dog). The house was a good size and had everything we needed. The owners were very responsive to our questions and gave good suggestions on where to shop for food and walk our dog. We would love to stay here again the next time we visit Vermont.
My 2 girlfriends and I needed a break away from the city. We definitely found it here in Stowe. My 2 Labradors came to! The house is on a dead end road so it is extremely quiet and peaceful. There are 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (full baths ) so that was amazing. The kitchen was very clean and bright. We used the outdoor grill one night and sat at the patio table for 8! You can easily fit 3/4 couples, there are 3 bedrooms and also a pull out sofa in the tv room downstairs. There is also a washer and dryer.
My Labradors loved Stowe, there was so much for them to do. You must try the Quiet Path (in the centre of town behind the church), Bingham Falls (just off 108 at the State Park on the right hand side of the road), and the many streams and rivers! They very much enjoyed the large garden at the house too (not fenced in).
I would certainly stay here again-as advertised it is very quiet, only 2 miles from town, loads of restaurants and shops, 2 supermarkets, ski and bike rental shops, souvenir shops and plenty of outdoor activities!
Sarah was very sweet and told me all of the fab places to go to with my labs.
Thank you very much to all. I hope to stay again!!
Our family just concluded a stay at this lovely home, over the Thanksgiving Holiday. We could not have asked for more! It was comfy, and we felt right at home, yet it had all of the extras that we needed. Luxe towels and comfortable bedding, all of the kitchen needs, and our dogs were welcome. Plenty of room for our family of 6, three bathrooms were great to have, and the sleeping arrangements were perfect! We enjoyed the view of the mountains, the fireplace and the overall location. Very convenient to everything in Stowe. Sarah, the owner could not have been more helpful, and kind. She arranged a wonderful courtesy involving their caretaker, Mike, and our Thanksgiving meal. Nothing disappointed, it was even better than we had hoped, it really had everything for a comfortable stay. It is such a pleasure to be there, we have many happy memories of gathering our grown children and those still at home for a wonderful holiday getaway at this sweet property. Trust me, this one will not disappoint! There are many great restaurants nearby, but most of all we enjoyed the luxury of leisurely low key meals as a family in this well appointed home. Thank you for sharing your home with our family, it was the perfect rental for our needs. Could not have asked for more!
We rented this lovely home for 3 days last June. Upon our arrival, the property was exactly as "advertised"....lovely private location, sparkling clean, huge deck with oversize grill, and a kitchen wanting for nothing! The master bed was very comfortable. It was an absolute pleasure to deal with Sarah, the owner, as she was attentive to every question. Definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to vacation in Stowe; we hope to return next year.
