A post and beam house in a perfect location! Two miles to the village and recreation path and eight miles to the lifts. On a dead end road and perched on a hill for scenic views, this is your ideal retreat.
Depending on the season, walk in and drop your hiking gear or skis in the mudroom. Move on to enjoy an abundance of light and the open floor plan. When it is cold the warmth of the wood fireplace compliments the exposed woodwork creating a comfortable gathering space for family and friends. When it's warm open the windows for fresh air inside, and outside sit on the deck or on the wooden adirondacks to enjoy the greenery, privacy and starry nights. There's nothing like unwinding in this peaceful setting after a day of hiking, biking, shopping, skiing, snowshoeing - any and all of Stowe's many activities.
Upstairs, there is the master bedroom with a cathedral ceiling, view of the mountains, king bed, and its own bathroom. There are two more bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with two twin beds. These include high ceilings, a skylight , and a mountain view. In the hallway there is also a full bathroom separating the master bedroom from the other two bedrooms. To sleep a maximum capacity of eight, you will find a sleeper sofa in the den on the main floor, conveniently located near the ¾ bathroom and separate from the gathering space.

This is our second stay. It has everything our family with two little kids and two dogs could need. The owners are a pleasure to deal with. The beds are super comfortable and the little touches of home make it all even sweeter. Will be back next season!
Thank you! We are so glad your family enjoys the house so much. We look forward to working with you again!
We had a wonderful time with our family at this home.
Very cute and cozy home close to town and not far from the ski hill. We had four adults, an infant, and a dog here for a week and although the house isn't large there was plenty of room for us all. The dog loved the yard, the grandparents loved the fireplace, and the parents loved being close to the ski hill. We would love to come back sometime. Nice owners, very clean, and the caretaker had it all stocked and ready for us when we arrived.
Our two complaints are small and related. Once we got our kid down we all had to keep the cooking noises and socializing low as sound traveled quite easily within the home itself. And for our last couple days it was pretty cold and the upstairs bathroom in particular seemed to have a direct line outdoors. There was almost a breeze in there.
Thanks to Sarah and Paul for allowing us to stay and introducing us to Stowe. We all had a wonderful time!
Thank you for your review! So glad you enjoyed your stay and found the house to be pleasing in so many ways- close to skiing, fireplace, size, great yard. It is an open floor plan so sound does travel- especially when trying to be extra quiet for your little baby. I wish you had contacted us about the bathroom. I am guessing the vent was stuck/frozen open and Mike could have fixed that for you, or perhaps the window was not shut securely. Sorry for the breeze! Hope to have you again!
Our stay was in January and it was wonderful! We were so close to town and Stowe Mt. for skiing. The house had enough space for the three of us -we even had an extra room! -it was clean and very Vermont-y :) We loved that the house was not in all the hustle and bustle but close enough to town when we wanted it. We would definitely return -Plus Sarah is so quick to respond and friendly too. Book it -you will LOVE it!

Michele, I am so glad you enjoyed your stay! We also love that about the house- that it is private and you feel secluded, but you are still close to everything. Thank you so much for your lovely review, and we hope to work with you again!
Thank you for reviewing our property. I am so sorry that you feel it was only worth two stars, for we communicated before, during, and after your stay, and I did not know that you were disappointed. I do hope you have fond memories of celebrating the holidays in Stowe, complete with the Christmas tree in the living room, plenty of firewood, and lots of snow!
Great cozy, dog friendly house just minutes from the center of Stowe
We loved our stay at Sarah's Stowe home. There's a great fireplace that helped to keep the house cozy with below zero temps all weekend! We so appreciated the home being dog friendly so we could bring the whole family. The floor plan is open and great for a group to hang out in. Beds were comfy and plenty of showers/bathrooms for a group. The house was clean, stocked with firewood and a kitchen with everything you'd need. The location is great as you get beautiful wooded surroundings being tucked away on a quiet street, but it's under a ten minute drive to town. Sarah was super communicative and fast to respond. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to spend a weekend in Stowe!
So glad you had a great time- and especially that you were able to stay warm up there! Keeping the firewood stocked was definitely important this past weekend. I am also glad that you found the house comfortable for your group and found the location so convenient. Thank you and we look forward to working with you again!
The house was exactly as represented and the owners were A++
Thanks for everything Sarah!! B
