& Casita Pacifica (2 bedrooms, up to 4 people) NO POOL

- rented separate or together

Casa Pacifica is a luxury beach house offering a prime location 200 yards from one of best beaches in Costa Rica. The house is on a large private property just steps from two incredible beaches (Playa Samara and Playa Carrillo) and you are walking distance to the towns of Samara and Carrillo for a real taste of real Costa Rican culture. This is a perfect place for an active family vacation or just a relaxing, casual getaway. Samara Beach (200 yards from our door) is widely recognized as one of the safest and most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica.

This four-bedroom home has two masters and a great living area which opens up to the kitchen and a large covered terrace overlooking the pool. The pool is surrounded by a lush garden, and you can expect to be visited by monkeys, iguanas, land-crabs, red-tailed squirrels and scores of other lizards and birds. Samara Beach is known to be one of the safest swimming beaches on the west coast of Costa Rica but is also great for surfing too.

There is also another smaller house on the same property, Casita Pacifica. If you want a total of 6 bedrooms you can ask about renting both houses for your stay. Otherwise, both houses have their own entrance, driveway, terrace and parking and the pool and backyard are completely private to the main house.

Boats can pick you up right at the beach (200 yards up the road) for world-class sport-fishing, turtle & dolphin tours or just a tour of the beautiful coastline. Included with the house are two kayaks so that you can tour the safe waters or go visit Isla Chola and have and entire island to yourself. You can learn to surf in Samara and catch intermediate waves, and you are only 15 miles away from some of the top surfing breaks in the world.

This is definitely one of the finest rentals in Samara. Our staff is around daily to ensure you have an amazing vacation. Wall-to-wall tile, luxury linens, thick towels & large walk-in showers await you and housekeeping and security is included - all you have to do is enjoy yourself.

About Paul

We are Canadians living in North Carolina with a rental property in Costa Rica. We have 3 great, active and young children and like to spend as much time each year on our property as possible. We hope to someday retire to Costa Rica, but have a long way to go.

Paul purchased this house in 2007

Why Paul chose Guanacaste

We choose Guanacaste on the advice of many Tico's we have met - since it's techically dry forest, it offers many more months of lower humidity, less rain and less bugs - but it still has a great tropical climate. After touring all over Guanacaste, we chose Samara because it's the best family destination. The beach there is protected by the reef and is one of the safest swimming beaches on the West Coast & the town is just big enough to offer everything you need. It also is 'locally grown', made up of a bunch of independently owned hotels and restaurants (no chains at all). It has all the same sights and tours that the larger beach towns offer (arguably the best beach around) - but without the crowds and party element.

What makes this house unique

Our property is on the far end of Samara Beach from the town of Samara. The property offers a lot of privacy, a lot of nature and guests often have most of the beach to themselves. It's close enough to Samara to be convenient to stores, restaurants and bars - but far enough from town to enjoy the mornings and evenings with just the sounds of nature around you. The house definitely one of the finest rentals in the area and our staff is fantastic.

Pura vida!

  • 4 of 5

Five members of my family also stayed at this house on November the 19th through the 23rd. We decided to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn for a few nights in hopes of getting out of Liberia before Hurricane Otto came through. The grounds are beautiful. The pool is amazing. Its a very short walk to Samara beach and Carillo beach. Its like having 2 beaches all to yourself! You can focus on the beauty instead of the crowds :-) The house does have some wear and tear but it is beautiful and met all of our needs. The beds are comfy, plenty of supplies in the kitchen, regular size washer and dryer, huge deck area with lots of chairs next to the pool. There is a small Inn and restaurant a few doors down toward Samara beach. They have really good food and cold beverages.

Melissa, at Samara Rentals, was very sweet and took care of our needs when called. Paul, the owner, is also very nice and prompt.

Thanks for an awesome trip to Samara. We would love to come back to that little piece of heaven in Samara in the future. Pura Vida!

nice house

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at this house Nov 19-23. It's a nice big house with a great pool and lots of room. We had a party of 8. It's a short walk to the beach and Carillo beach. The only thing I would suggest is the kitchen and stove and dishes were a little dirty and were in need of a "deep clean". You could tell it's been used a ton. Other wise, it's a great place and the people and the trip were great!! We are already talking about coming back to this place in 2018.

Beautiful Casa Pacifica was the perfect spot for our group getaway!

  • 5 of 5

I echo the comments of Carole from Aspen, Colorado…”I am hesitant to write this review because it is a gem and I want to be able to rent it in the future…”

Our stay at Casa Pacifica was nothing short of perfect. From the time we arrived and opened the doors, there was an overwhelming feeling of comfort and of being ‘at home’. The house was beautiful. And the view when you first walk-in, is breathtaking. My eye was drawn across the wide open space of the great room to the wall of windows and doors leading out to the beautifully landscaped back yard. The pool, the greenery, the privacy, the many loungers, the covered eating area…all of it inviting us in to sit back and just relax!

Everything we needed was provided in the house. Kitchen was fully equipped (great if you happen to get out on a charter for the day to catch your own fish – which we most definitely did!) The yard has many trees that will provide you with fresh grapefruits and limes for all your homemade recipes. The house also had many board games, books , DVD’s, mp3 player, even has a ‘pay it forward’ basket where you can leave behind items such as sunscreen; band-aids; lotions; etc.

There is a little shed area on the property that is equipped with kayaks; life jackets and pool toys. Highly recommend taking the kayaks and walking down the dirt road (3-4 minute walk) to Samara Beach and paddle out to Isla Chora (or “Raccoon Island” as our crew nicknamed it). It’s a tiny island that has a beautiful beach and a family of raccoons that occupy it.

The location was perfect. Conveniently located between Samara Beach and Carillo Beach and walking distance to both. The town of Samara was a short $7 cab ride away, or it could be reached by walking if you brought enough sunscreen to reapply along the way! We took advantage of the Outback quad rentals for a few of the days spent in Samara and thoroughly enjoyed having the freedom to come and go as we please, as you can drive them everywhere with the exception of on the beach. Lots of fun and highly recommend asking for a map of some off-roading trails to take in. Loads of fun!

Costa Rica was beautiful in every way. The people, the scenery, the beaches, the many animals – we saw howler monkeys in our own backyard (one day there was 20 of them in the trees out back, what a sight!). We saw huge butterflies; dragonflies; beautiful birds; iguanas and geckos. For the squeamish – there are bats (small ones) that frequented the side of

Best Vacation EVER!!

  • 5 of 5

I am hesitant to write this review because it is a gem and I want to be able to rent it in the future but if you want to have the most wonderful holiday you need to stay at Casa Pacifica. Located between two of the most glorious and different beaches in Costa Rica minutes away walking. Just amazing. The house is over the top, providing everything you need. Pool was amazing and the outdoor shower too. The beds were SO comfortable. The kayaks were super fun to have, we paddled out to Isla Chora with turtles all around, the hermit crabs on the Isla were wonderful as well. Howler Monkeys, lizards, crabs, butterflies, flowers, crocodiles and so many birds. Doesn't get any better. Samara is a special place. We enjoyed coconut water from fresh coconuts everyday, the restaurants were yummy and the people beyond lovely. Pura vida. Pura vida. As mentioned in a previous review EVERYONE associated with this glorious home was so helpful, kind and friendly. I hope you get a chance to enjoy what we did, we can't wait to return.

The perfect place in the perfect spot!

  • 5 of 5

My family of 4 (2 kids, 11 & 8) and my parents are so glad we booked Casa Pacifica for the last week of our Costa Rican adventure. The house and property were stunning. It had everything we needed for our stay near the beach. The pool was a refreshing welcome from the mid afternoon heat and the use of the kayaks allowed us to get out early in the morning, view turtles and get to Isla Chora. Everyone associated with the property were friendly and helpful. The house had all we needed and more and felt like home by the end of our stay. We cooked, ate meals and played games in the kitchen/dining room. We BBQ’d chicken on the big BBQ just out on the main patio. We relaxed on the patio while drinking margaritas. Just down the road where the fishermen come in we were able to purchase a lb of shrimp and they also had lots of fresh fish. Samara itself is a great spot with lots of restaurants and stores. We refreshed our surfing at Choco’s surf school in Samara. Just a short walk/drive from the house is Playa Carrillo which was great for hanging out, swimming and watching the sunset. We will definitely return and tell others about this property. Highly recommended for families.

Girl's trip

  • 5 of 5

The house had everything we needed. It was beautiful and equipped with all we needed and was also private. It was close proximity to 2 beaches. There were various restaurants and shops in Samara for anything one might need. We had a fabulous time and the property mgmt company made sure we were completely satisfied. Would absolutely stay there again.
