this is a really great place, amongst a wonderfull garden. The outside kitchen is fantastic, and 2 nice houses for room. Kind welcome with fruits, coffee, and some things in the fridge. I will highly recommend.

Fun place to get away from it all!

  • 4 of 5

Ok, so it's probably not for everybody. But, if you don't require a completely sterile resort vacation experience this place is very cool. Out family of four ( two sons 11 and 9) stayed for seven nights in July. A long (five minutes drive) steep winding driveway takes you to a pair of private bungalows (queen beds and baths with individual tiled showers) and outdoor kitchen that feels very out of the way. The kids really liked exploring the property, the gekos and foraging for fruit ( we picked bananas, papaya, limes, bread fruit, gerkins, and a few coffee berries). The view of the water is fabulous, and there was a large variety of birds greeting us each morning. Yes, you have to deal with a few bugs but really wasn't to bad considering where your located and everything was clean. We made good use of the boogie boards and snorkeling gear. The kitchen is well appointed ( juicer, smoothie blender, French press, pots pans ect.). They also set us up with a dozen fresh eggs and a bag of their own roast coffee beans. Victoria was out of town while we were there but was easy to get a hold of throughout the rental process and her Mom stopped by to check on us, get us fresh towels, and pick up the trash. Definitely would recommend to anyone with a little sense of adventure.

Amazing views --- almost like camping!

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I and our 2 adult children had a great outdoor experience here. We love the outdoors and this looked like the perfect set up for us. It was with the exception of playing hide and go seek with gecko eggs! I guess it must have been gecko egg laying season .... but we had to always check before we sat down. The geckos seemed to favor the outdoor daybed so we left that alone! Other than that .... the fresh fruit, yummy coffee and eggs were enjoyed .... the pineapple was amazing. Vika and Mike were very responsive with any questions we had and went above and beyond with helping me get some documentation printed. it was amazing how cool it got in the evenings with the breezes. There were some flowers that released the most awesome fragrance when the sun went down. In addition to Mauna Kea we would also highly recommend "swimming" with the manta rays --- that was probably our top adventure.

Fabulous!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had the most wonderful week at HK March 18th -25th. Mike and Vika thought of absolutely everything; from the fully equipped kitchen to beach towels, beach chairs, cooler and scuba gear, to make this such a relaxing and enjoyable experience! We loved the peaceful setting, outdoor kitchen, morning awakening by the birds and little geckos scurrying about. We will be back ! :) Susan and Vince
