After visiting the other islands, we fell in love with the Big Island. The core of Hawaiian life and culture can still be found here. The beach and sun are such a part of Kona! White Sands attracts both locals and tourists because of its beauty and the mana of the ocean, earth, and sky that combine in this magical place!

We find the serene and peaceful quality of this neighborhood the perfect complement to the vibrancy of Alii Drive which is just a block away. We appreciate the lack of traffic, noise, and activity when seeking a respite from the day's activities.

Nice house in convenient location
We booked this property with 2 other families and really enjoyed our stay. The house is well equipped and the pool is superb and very private. The beach is within walking distance. The property was great for our 3 families with teens and tweens. Beware that it is more like 2 apartments on top of one another and there are no internal stairs between the 2. I would recommend this and would stay here again if we come back to Kona.
Great Kona getaway
This is the perfect getaway for a large family or group. There were 10 of us, easily accommodated in six bedrooms and four baths. The living and dining rooms are perfect for feeding and entertaining a large group. The best feature of this home is the swimming pool. We spent hours swimming and playing pool games. Robin has made sure there are tubes, floats and every imaginable toy for kids and adults alike. Both Robin and her caretaker John were very responsive with any questions we had. Tradewinds is a five minute walk to the nearest beach and 10 minute drive into town. We highly recommend it.
Comfortable, roomy home
Lots of space inside and out for a family of 10, aged 3-75. Fully equipped kitchen made making meals and snacks easy. Several BBQs are avalable for use. We used the one outside of the kitchen on a deck several times. Owner had helpful ides for where to shop for food, and places to go for lunch on the first day. Rooms upstairs are spacious, offering lots of room to spread out as well as gather for meals and just to hang out. Game and puzzles are under the TV. Rooms downstairs are a bit cramped, but very comfortable and did fine for a family of 4 including 2 young children.Nearest beach is a quick 5 minute walk . Directions for a short cut were appreciated, and easy enough that a 6 year old was able to read them and lead us to the beach. Other beaches near by offered good snorkeling, shaved ice, great tide pools. The house is conveniently located in town, but in a nice neighborhood on a dead end street, with very little traffic. There is no noise from traffic. Salt water pool was nice, except there is no fence around the pool, so be careful with children. Pool also slopped deeply quickly, again a bit of a hazard for small children or short adults. A hand railing on the steps into the pool would be helpful. We would be happy to stay here again.

Tradewinds was perfect for our large family
We had plenty of space for ourselves, our three adult sons and their wives and five grandchildren ages 1 through 6.
Kids enjoyed the pool. Lots of beach toys.
Close to beach though it was too rocky for the kids. We drove to Hapuna Beach and used public access at Mauna Kea Beach which were both fabulous beaches.
House was well equipped and in a quiet neighborhood
Would highly recommend this house for a large family trip like ours.
Incredible Kona Experience!
Tradewinds exceeded our expectations in every way for our much-anticipated Hawaii vacation! This lovely Tahitian-style home is perfectly situated for experiencing the old-Hawaii charm of Kona and its beautiful white sand beaches.
We thoroughly enjoyed our sunset meals on the Dining Lanai, cooling off in the pool, and uxurious soaks in the spa!
The gorgeous landscaping enclosing the property provided incredible privacy and enhanced our immersion into this beautiful island oasis!
The owners were helpful at every step of our journey making this one of our most memorable vacations!

This beautiful Kona home was luxurious, incredibly spacious, and very comfortable. It is secluded and peaceful yet in close proximity to White Sands Beach, major roads, and attractions. I loved having meals on the large lanai and wrap-around deck, swimming and hot-tubbing, and resting in the beautiful tropical gardens. The owners were super helpful and provided all of the needed amenities for a stress-free getaway!

Swam with the sea turtles at the beach 2 blocks away, hiked Volcanic National Park at sunset, Kayaked off Cook Inlet and snorkeled with the dolphins and other wondrous creatures. Great margaritas at Lou Lous, terrific food at Jamison's and Huggo's. Great band plays Huggo's Wed - Sat. Pahui'a at the Four Seasons was amazing.

Ironman (mid-October) - The Ironman rate is either $1195/night for 7-9 night reservation or $995/night for 10 nights. **All reservations have a 3 day minimum requirement with a max of 14 guests permitted to stay on the property. **Higher Rates and 7-day minimum for Christmas, New Years - Actual Holiday Weeks Flexible** Balance due for the rental is 90 days before check-in. You will receive a reminder from us a month before the payment is due. A cash "thank-you reward" will be sent to you if you use VRBO Echeck or mail a check to us for the balance due. All reservations are subject to a $150.00 cancellation fee. If Tenant cancels the reservation less than 60 days prior to the agreed occupancy date, 50% of the rental amount is forfeited, unless the property is re-rented for the subject rental period. No refund if canceled within 30 days of arrival, unless re-rented.
