Glensheahan House

  • 5 of 5

This is by far the best holiday rental we have ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived entering the impressive driveway until we had (reluctantly) to leave, we had the most fantastic week in Glensheahan House. The house is simply divine and every detail is thought of. The kitchen has absolutely everything you need and more. The living rooms are fabulous and patio area the same. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated and well proportioned. We had the luxury of sleeping in the master suite and I can safely say it is right up there with the best hotel rooms. I often find that holiday rentals don't always live completely up to expectation, but this house far surpassed this and I would go back in a heartbeat, in fact we were sorry to leave!!!

Absolutely amazing - I wish I could give 10 stars!!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

This was the best stay that my family and I have ever had - everything was absolutely perfect down to the last detail. There were plenty of towels, shampoo, even cribs and high chairs for my two young kids! Eileen went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything that we needed. The location was great - just 10 minutes from Killarney. Plus there was a hotel right next door for the days that we didn't feel like going into town, but just wanted to go out for a quick dinner. All of the rooms had blackout curtains so they were nice and dark. I can't think of a single thing that Eileen could have done to make our vacation better. There was even a basketball court in the backyard for my family to play basketball! What a wonderful stay - if we ever come back to Killarney we will definitely stay at The Glensheahan House. I HIGHLY recommend.

Griffiths Family Vacation at Glensheahan House

  • 5 of 5

We were a family of 13; six were children/teens with the youngest at 20 months. This house was perfect in all regards and definitely exceeded our expectations!!! Glensheahan House provided the ideal environment for us to relax as well as to explore the area attractions [the information provided by the Sheahans was a welcome assist to our tour planning]. The kitchen was fully furnished with every imaginable need and the stove was the highlight for the family chefs. All bed rooms were exceptionally comfortable and attached baths were great for everyone to get ready for the day's activities without being in each other's way. What's not to love????? We would come back without hesitation!

Private hotel like house

  • 5 of 5

This rental was easy to find, wonderfully stocked, comfortable beds, plenty of bedrooms & living space. We had a party of 10 and everyone had a private room, most had private bathrooms. The large backyard patio entertained the men while the large kitchen entertained the women. Very close to Killarney, Ring of Kerry and Dingle for day trips. I would highly recommend this rental & if our family should return to Ireland I'm sure we would love to stay here again.

The only issues we ran into was some of the shower drains were slow, causing showers to be cut short so the water could drain & not overflow. Keep in mind there are 6 showers & 1 tub which were all being used so that may have just been due to the heavy use of the plumbing. We also had some issues using the vent less dryer. It was taking up to 4 hours to dry one load of wash, with 10 in the house hoping to get a load of wash done a 4 hour dry cycle was not very efficient.

However, regardless of these two issues I'd still give this house a 5 star review. Eileen was very pleasant and easy to contact, we even had dinner at her local pub in Killarney & it was one of the best meals of the trip.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind review and for eating at my bar The Porterhouse. I am sorry I might not have showed you where the water container was on the dryer. If this is not emptied after each use the drying time takes longer. (AAA+ energy rating condenser tumbler dryer.) Kind Regards Eileen & Family

Better than advertised

  • 5 of 5

we were eight golfers, the "home" was centrally located to all on the great links courses in the west. I have rented over 30 homes on this website over the years however this home was the best equipped ever. the kitchen was great to cook in, breakfast everyday. actually planned to eat out every night but decided to cook in 4 nights since the house was so comfortable. BBQ was a big plus. Eileen was very professional and accommodating. We ate at the Porterhouse in Killarney[Eileen owns} and it was superb. Even the weather cooperated for the week, warm and no rain. The Shehaan house is a winner.
