Paolo was a wonderful host, he arranged for someone to pick us up from the airport as well as to take us back. The flat was comfortable and very lose to everything. The flat is within walking distance of the Vatican, as well as many other places, there is a nice grocery store right around the corner with everything you would want to have. Next time in Rome will definitely go back to the flat.
The apartment was exactly as described, and it was exceptionally clean. I use a wheelchair, so it was important that the building had an elevator. Because we were there in October, we used both the air conditioning and the heat at different points of our stay. Both worked easily and well. Also, the WiFi was consistently good – better than many hotels better than what I've experienced and a number of hotels. Paolo met us there the day we arrived, and he also set up a driver to meet us at the airport and bring us to the apartment. He was warm and friendly, gave us information about an excellent yet reasonably priced restaurant, Goose, which was a five minute walk away. There is a grocery store around the corner, and a bank on the first floor of the building. So much convenience. As we stood in front of the apartment building we could see St. Peter's Basilica and during the course of our stay heard the beautiful bells. We were able to walk to St. Peter's Square in about 10 minutes. There are a number of shops and restaurants close at hand as well as a pharmacy. There also are bakeries with delicious pastry and fresh bread daily. Being from Chicago, it was no problem for us to be in the midst of and looking down at the hustle and bustle of the city. We were kitty corner from San Pietra train station. We heard trains coming by, but they weren't incessant. We highly would recommend Paolo's apartment to anyone wanting to stay close to the Vatican. One thing. Be sure to check the night before you are leaving and ask Paolo to confirm that the driver he arranges for you is clear about the time of your departure. Ours did not show up. However, Mauro, the doorman, is a kind man. He called and arranged for a taxi for us, waiting to be sure that it came quickly. If there is an opportunity to return to Rome again , we would rent from Paolo without hesitation!
Stayed at apartment A for three nights in June. Unit was well furnished, very clean, appliances in very good condition. It was quite hot in Rome so returning to the comforts of an air conditioned and comfortable "home away from home" was such a relief. Location was convenient, in front of San Pietro station, steps from bus stop, grocery, bake shop, restaurants. Would recommend staying here again. Thank you, Paolo, for an enjoyable stay and making sure everything was in order.
We stayed in this apartment for 2 nights in June. It was close to a bus stop and within a short walking distance to the Vatican.
Restaurants and grocery stores were near by. Paolo was a very nice and helpful host. His response was very prompt and arranged a cab for our trip to the airport, which I greatly appreciated.
The apartment was very nice, well-located, and the owner very helpful in offering suggestions, helping to arrange a pick up from the airport, etc. Good experience!
We enjoyed our time in Paolo and Lisa's apartment in Gregoria VII, near the Vatican and St Pietro station. You have excellent access to mass transportation to anywhere. (I recommend either the 916 bus or the 64). There is a supermarket, fresh food grocers, postal station, great cafes and restaurants nearby. The apartment is well maintained, airy and we loved the motorized blinds which allow you to darken the space for mid afternoon siestas. There is a lift and stairs. The location is safe and fairly quiet. Our twin 9 yr old sons biggest critique was that all the tv stations were in Italian. I would stay there again and hope to visit again next year. Ciao and Via Roma..
Vatican excellent area to reach the most beautiful squares of the Eternal City - St. Peter's Square, Piazza Navona, Campo de Fiori, Piazza Venezia-Castel Sant'Angelo, Trastevere all with a pleasant walk or by public transport being a well connected neighborhood.
