Overview

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6-8)

Crescent Lake Cabin is a secluded, private cabin on Crescent Creek near the town of Crescent Lake Junction in Oregon. It is the ideal location for a secluded, relaxing, natural getaway, with activities the whole year round.

A recent entry in the cabin guest book says, 'What a wonderful spot by the creek! We started the weekend with ambitions of hikes and canoeing on lakes and then soon realized that the best thing was staying by the cabin, walking through the woods, splashing in the creek, playing with inner tubes, playing fetch with our dog, enjoying the wood stove and treasuring each other's company.'

If you do have ambitions of hikes, canoeing, mountain biking, or exploring in general, there is plenty to do:

At Crescent Lake Cabin, you can:

* Fish from our dock

* Swim in either of two swimming holes

* Float down the creek

* Enjoy your morning coffee with your feet in the creek

* Cross-country ski or snowmobile from our front door (winter only!)

We are also:

* 5 minutes from fishing and water skiing on Crescent Lake

* 5 minutes from Odell Lake for more fishing

* Near world-class mountain biking

* Near the Pacific Crest Trail and other trailheads

* I can provide you with hiking and mountain biking trail guides

* 10 minutes from Willamette Pass Ski Area

* 60 miles from Crater Lake and Diamond Lake

* 1 mile from Crescent Lake Junction, with gas, a convenience store, a burger restaurant, and a tavern

Also, people often ask if there will be snow, and my best response is that I can't predict the weather! The trend is that from November through March, there is a good chance of snow, but it is not guaranteed. In 2014-2015, there was little snow. This winter, 2015-16, has plenty of snow. Also, when there is snow, travel is more difficult, and it is necessary to use the wood stove to keep warm. If this sounds like a fun adventure to you, I encourage you to stay in the winter!

About Mark Rabenstein

I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family, especially at our cabin (Crescent Lake Cabin!) For example, in the summer we hike, float in the creek, mountain bike, and fish. In the winter, we ski and sled in the driveway. Professionally, I'm a chemist and a software designer and tester.

Mark Rabenstein purchased this cabin in 2005

Why Mark Rabenstein chose Central Oregon

As a kid, my family had a cabin. As a parent, I wanted to give the same to my children. They have grown up visiting the cabin. Crescent Lake Cabin is convenient to us; it is about 1 hour and 15 minutes from where we live in Bend (and the same distance from Eugene!). Also, We enjoy the seclusion of 3.5 acres, as well as being on Crescent Creek. The natural setting is also gorgeous, with the creek, meadows with butterflies, and pine trees.

What makes this cabin unique

In the summer, we enjoy spending time at the dock on the creek, and playing with the kids in the creek. We usually don't go to the lake because the creek is so fun and convenient! In the winter, we enjoy walking out the door and cross-country skiing.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This place is a steal! The cabin was actually much roomier than we expected with more sleeping area than it looks like online. The king size bed was super comfortable. The cabin was very well stocked. We LOVED the creek which is huge and fun to use floaty toys to float down and the crawdad trap was a hit with the kids. We also made s'mores at the fire pit and that was great. The balcony with BBQ that overlooks the creek is a great place to sit outside and eat. The two lakes within 5 minutes of the cabin are great for fishing and swimming and you can rent boats at either one. Beautiful, calm place to stay. We brought a few movies to watch at night at there is no cable but if we didn't have the kids I probably wouldn't have.

Thanks,

Matt and Laurie

Perfect!!

This place was PERFECTION !!!! We really didn't need anything, except groceries. Within a couple of hours of our stay , we forgot that there wasn't a wifi or phone signal , we didn't care and we still lived lol . If you're looking for a place to to just get away and unplug this place is what your looking for , Mark was also very helpful and the cabin was well maintained , I can't wait to go again especially in the summer when you can get in the creek ... thank you Mark for this cozy ,out of the way home!! The Book on the upgrades was amazing to look at (more than once) , the deck was amazing for yoga stretches , sunbathing , and vegging out...the price is soooo affordable as well , if you go with a group is it's even more worth .. thanks again for the great memories . Looking forward to going again ...pet friendly as well the dogs were in heaven .... an oasis !!

Fun Cozy Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fun, relaxing weekend at the cabin. It was great to unplug and connect with each other. There was still enough snow to go sledding on the property, which the kids really enjoyed. The fireplace kept us cozy at night. Mark, the owner, was great about answering our questions before we arrived. We hope to come back in the summer!

Location, pet friendly, and pricing!

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay with friends and our pet. Close to ski resort but far enough away from others to have a serene, quiet weekend. And the price was right to top it all off.

PERFECT getaway for our family!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at this property twice and have booked a third stay for next February. Our family of 5 love this place! During the winter it's a winter wonderland! We spend hours playing together outside in the snow and then coming in to a warm fire and watching older movies or do puzzles. It provides much needed family time during the winter for us. It has everything we could need in a cabin and is very clean. The cabin is very conveniently located to play at Willamette Pass and there's a small store not too far away. Our family has logged hours and hours of play time here and we can't wait to add more time! :)
