Wonderful home base in Dublin!!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was exactly as pictured and couldn't have been more perfect for our home base in Dublin. It is close to public transportation (Luas) and an easy walk to the shopping areas. Just north of the Liffey, it was a quick walk to our favorite pub, Brazen Head (do try the mussels!). The apartment was warm and cozy and beautifully equipped; Bernadette has left no detail to chance. We had umbrellas, thick, fluffy towels, warm duvets and a fully equipped kitchen. This was, by far, the best apartment we've rented through VRBO/Home Away and can't wait to to go back! Thanks, Bernadette, for your amazing hospitality!

Well located flat just outside Dublin city center.

  • 5 of 5

My mom and I did a holiday weekend in Dublin, and this flat was perfect for our needs. Bernadette's flat is located in Smithfield, a neighborhood just past the hecticness of city center. We took the Luas tram everywhere; there is a stop just four blocks away. The apartment was clean, warm and added bonus to be on the top floor (with elevator). While the neighborhood appeared plenty safe, the complex is gated as well for added security. Would stay here again!

Owner's Response: Many thanks for taking the time to review your recent stay at our Dublin apartment. It's great to hear that yourself and your Mom enjoyed yourselves and that The Hardwicke was perfect for your needs! That's always what we want to hear from our guests. If you decide another trip from the Windy City to the Emerald Isle is on the cards we certainly hope that you will return to stay at number 95! Cheers for now! :-)

Good location with everything in walking distance.Comfortable and well equipped, very clean well maintained. All home comforts you need. The welcoming milk, cakes and crisps on arrival was a nice touch.Bernadette was very helpful and early check in and late check out meant we could spend more time with family. We couldn't recommend this apartment or Bernadette to highly. Were hoping on our next visits that we can stay here again. We will be recommending to our friends.

The best!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed three nights and felt right at home. Bernadette met us on arrival and showed us everything we needed to know. She even left us with a welcome package of coffee cake, milk and orange juice, The apartment was spotless and nicely furnished, and the bed was super comfy. Great location, too! Could not recommend more highly!

Lovely clean apartment within walking distance of Dublin city center

  • 4 of 5

Initial reaction when entering the apartment was that the pictures did not do it justice; the actual apartment felt much better than I expected (and very clean). It was well situated, a nice supermarket a short walk away and about 10 minutes walk to get to the center of Dublin/River Liffey. The apartment was well equipped, the only thing we missed (or couldn't find) was a board to cut bread on, but that was easily solved by using a plate. Bernadette was extremely helpful and patient, both in all e-mail conversations prior to arriving and then showing us round the apartment when we arrived. The kitchen had a good store cupboard with many basic necessities in it such as salt, oil tea, etc. All in all, a lovely stay!

Owner's Response: Thank you Janet for your lovely review and I'm glad you both enjoyed your stay at The Hardwicke! :-) I must check if one of my chopping boards has gone missing! I had three to begin with and melted one by accident! (Long story!!) The one I use for cutting bread is with the placemats to the left side of the microwave but there should be a second one in the cupboard above the welcome basket. I tend to buy the melamine boards from IKEA .... God bless Sweden! ;-) ... but perhaps it would be best to buy a wooden one for the bread to make it easier to distinguish from the others. In any case I appreciate your mentioning it as this is the best way for me to keep on top of things. Hope we may meet again some day if you return to Dublin.
