Casita Cielo Azul is located in the tranquil little coastal pueblo of San Francisco, known locally as San Pancho, in Nayarit, Mexico. Its location, approximately 35 miles north of Puerto Vallarta, provides convenience and an opportunity to “get away from it all” in our quiet, relaxing village.
Casita Cielo Azul is located two and a half blocks from the beach, was newly constructed in 2007. Check our casitaazulcom for more pictures.
The first floor at Casita Cielo Azul has 2 separate Casitas available, 'Angela' and 'Kiley'. They offer private bedrooms (queen size), each with private baths and a full shared kitchen. Each unit has a private terrace leading out to the pool and surrounding shared patio and palapa dining room and grill area.
The second floor Casita is ALL ONE UNIT, called, 'Nico'. Nico offers 1 bedroom with a queen size bed and a second bedroom/living room with 2 twin size beds. These bedrooms both have entrances to the shared, double sink bathroom. Also, each bedroom has a door that leads out to Nico's large private terrace. There you'll find a full kitchen and dining area. A spiral staircase leads guests staying in Nico, to the rooftop deck and kitchen garden where stunning sunsets can be viewed.
Each of the 3 units (2 down, 1 up) can be rented separately.
Easy to locate in San Pancho by its distinctive stone wall, built by a local maestro, Casita Cielo Azul offers an atmosphere and setting that provides the perfect backdrop for a tranquil getaway. After stepping through the gate you’ll follow our pathway which meanders through the garden past the garden seating for Cafe Mañana, our "seasonal" coffee shop. Cafe Mañana is only open JAN-APRIL. You then pass through another gate which separates the house and the shop keeping the house and surrounding area private from the shop. You continue to follow the path which we have filled with tropical plantings. You will then find yourself on the terra cotta patio surrounding the pool leading you to the house framed in palms.
Depending on the season, you’ll find a variety of restaurants in town, from taco stands, beach , or fine dining. The beach is rarely crowded, even during high season. There you can enjoy watching the diving pelicans, or sitting under a palapa sipping on something with an umbrella. Catch a glimpse of a passing whale or dolphin, or take a walk down to the estuary, where a variety of tropical birds can be found. At the end of the day don’t miss the opportunity to join the locals on the beach for another breathtaking sunset in San Pancho.
Our house is a quick trip from Puerto Vallarta’s International Airport. When you arrive, grab your bags, hop in cab or if you’re familiar with traveling in Mexico, board the local bus and head out to San Pancho. IF YOU PREFER, CONTACT US ABOUT PREARRANGED TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE AIRPORT. We look forward to sharing our home with you.

For years we traveled extensively throughout Mexico purchasing art and artefacts for our Folk Art Store in Evanston, Illinois, Casita Azul. We closed the shop in Evanston when we opened our coffee shop, Cafe Mañana, located in San Pancho on the very front part of our property. Again, Cafe Mañana is only open JAN - APRIL. The knowledge gained from staying in various hotels, B&B’s and resorts, was used to create our home, Casita Cielo Azul. Our philosophy when traveling has always been to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible. Take a walk, go to the beach, sit on the terrace and read, or do nothing but catch up on your thoughts. With that in mind, our rooms open to the outdoors and we encourage you to get out and enjoy your stay in San Pancho.
I have been going to San Pancho for years. It is an idyllic, small fishing village with a mile-long (nearly empty) beach and jungle roads for walking and enjoying the sun. I actually hate to tell anyone about it.
I have rented houses and stayed in a wide variety of places in the village but I am now done looking. Casita Cielo Azul is a perfect combination of quiet and privacy, as well as being close to the restaurants and the beach. The space is stunning - a lush, blooming garden, plenty of shade and sun, a well appointed and traditionally styled home, with lovely artwork. They have the best pool in San Pancho, as far as I am concerned. You are just about the only guests as they can accommodate only a small number of people in their peaceful oasis.
They also own a coffee shop at the front of the property, separated by a dense little garden, where the hosts serve hand-roasted coffee and delicious little breakfast pastries. Locals and tourists sit and listen to curated music, chat, read, and enjoy the cool breezes of the morning.
I travel to relax and have time to make art. Casita Cielo Azul is the perfect quiet retreat to get renewed, restored and energized in the incredible setting with delightful hosts.
I absolutely love San Pancho, Mexico, a small but inviting town on the Pacific with loads of charm and the best restaurants. But it wouldn't be such a relaxing and fun vacation for me if not for Lincoln and Jill, the propeitors of Casita Cielo. Very private but close to the hub of everything. Lincoln's quaint coffee shop with the best coffee around and believe me, being from Seattle, I am very fussy about my coffee, is steps away from the most private and magnificent pool to swim in. And did I mention Jill's homemade pastries to go with at least one cuppa java? I love the privacy that the amazing garden's provide me if I am swimming, reading or making art. Just writing about this makes me want the next 6 months to whiz by and I will be there again in my little secret paradise. Couldn't recommend this more highly.
My husband and I have stayed at Casita Cielo Azul twice and we look forward to returning again as soon as we can!
We enjoyed the sunny house, decorated with folk art and the rooms that are as comfortable as they are beautiful. The location allowed us to feel part of a small town and yet was removed enough feel very private. It is an easy and interesting walk into town, to the beach or – for the adventurous - into the jungle. The town offers good food choices and fun shopping.
We also liked being able to cook some of our own meals and sharing the comfortable House experience with friends. We also loved the pool and I was able to swim my laps, and enjoy the sun.
The fresh fish and margaritas that we had on the beach while watching the sunset were almost as magical as being there the day the baby sea turtles hatched and made their way back to the sea.
Serene, secure and beautiful- next year we want to rent the house and bring the whole family!
The casita is faithful to the heart-felt description online. While the casita is cosy, the pool and garden are quite large and very enjoyable. A half-block away from the "tiendita" could tempt you to stay at the pool with your favorite fresh drink. The architecture is appeasing with beautiful smooth
arches. The owners were very responsive and helpful. Makes a nice
stay in colorful town of San Pancho. Thank you! Thanks again and congratulations for your nice property,
