I was born in Sondrio, a small town in the Alps, between Italy and Switzerland. I owned and run my advertising company for 25 years. I currently live in Milan.
Giovanni purchased this Apartment in 2013
Why Giovanni chose Cerchia dei navigli
I chose this apartment because it's unique, facing a private park on one side and a cloister by Bramante on the other side. It's a unique and private setting in the heart of the historical centre, almost impossible to find.
What makes this Apartment unique
The views over the park from the living area. The cloister designed by renown architect Bramante, the genius of Italian Renaissance, with access from the bedroom. The new refined renovation and the modern design with all amenities.

Beautiful and Great Location
If you drive, be sure to register your plate with the area C transportation website for a small 5€ fee and save the higher fine, it's easy and they have a parking space in the courtyard outside of the door for you. The apartment is beautiful and well stocked. The bed is very comfortable, and everything is large for central Milano. The patio is amazing. It is a real luxury to return to every night. You can walk or metro to everything in Milano, and the ease of the apartment helps out with this. Without a doubt we would stay here again, even if we had to pay more. Geo is very helpful and the best host we have had in Italy. If I could give it six stars I would. There were two of of us and we stayed four nights, with a car. Oh, try the elevator out too, and meet the turtle in the courtyard :)
Tim you have been an amazing guest. Thank you so much for your appreciations. Best wishes, gio
Quiet oasis in the old city.
Roomy one bedroom with living area balcony overlooking a small park, and a shady patio area off the bedroom. Quiet and shady apartment in the middle of the old city. Easy walk to Duommo, Sforza Castle, and The Last Supper, or take the tram- 5 minutes away. Nice cafes just 5 minutes walk. A/C worked great, the refer was good and cold, and the washer/dryer got our laundry done while we were exploring the city. Perfect place to conclude a 6 week trip, and Milan was a hip and historic city to visit.
Beautiful But Needs a Bit of Maintenance
We stayed in five different accommodations during our month-long trip through northern Italy and Slovenia. This apartment ranks #3 of the five, which is why I’ve assigned it three stars.
We booked seven nights and planned to arrive in Milan on a Saturday in May. Gio initially sent a message a day before our arrival saying we could arrive at any time and his assistant, Laura, would meet us at the apartment. Then we received a message informing us that it was Laura’s day off and he and his family were out of town. The concierge, who does not speak English, would let us in if we could arrive no later than 1:30 pm. We hopped on a high-speed Frecciarossa train from Bologna, took a cab, and arrived at the apartment at 1:20.
Gio had directed us to ring the Citterio button at the front gate but none of the buttons were labelled Citterio. Fortunately, a helpful man on the street located the correct button (Portinaio) to press.
The concierge’s English speaking son did his best to introduce us to the apartment. He called Gio when he was stumped by my questions about the combo washer/dryer. Gio directed me to a couple of boxes of manuals that were located in the front closet.
There was no manual for the induction stove top, which I’ve never used, but we figured it out.
The apartment has a number of upscale features, but a bit of maintenance is needed:
• The bathroom is on a raised platform. The steps into the living room and bedroom have strip lights, which we left on to prevent falls. One of the wooden finishing strips over the lights was off and propped up against the wall when we arrived. The other one kept falling off.
• The temperature dial on the combo washer/dryer is on backwards. The washer does have a rapid 30-minute cycle if you set the program to #11 and the temperature to 30℃. My first load took much longer to complete and the wet laundry was steaming. It had been washed at 70℃.
• A small floorboard in the living room was broken and below floor level.
• The ceiling light fixture in the living room has burned-out bulbs.
• The walls in the bedroom have quite a few dark stains and a few unfilled holes.
• The audio cable for the Android speaker didn't work. I used my own to plug in my iPhone.
If you want to go beyond the usual list of things to do in Milan, try the Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci. We also throughly enjoyed an Italian cooking class in English with Clara Raimondi at Cooking in Milan.
Wonderful, comfortable, centrally located apartment in Milano
Giovanni's apartment is centrally located. Just a few blocks , walking, from the Duomo and the Sforza Castle and the Triannale. The apartment is as lovely as the photos, lovelier. Air conditioned, which was wonderful during Milano's hot spell, with greenery through every window. Very tranquil.
We were picked up by a driver Gio recommended and met at the apartment by Laura who showed us around the apartment.
The supermarket is less than a block away.
The apartment was stocked with coffee, milk, spices, fruits and juice. Quite a welcoming touch.
And the bed was very comfortable.
Very quiet, gardens everywhere, very clean, large enough, just close of everything ...
you can walk in Milan without any car rental !
a wonderful location in Milan ...
a special thanks to the owner for his disponibility.
Big comfortable place in a great location
Giovanni was a great host. He arranged for a pick-up at the airport when we arrived, and then got us a cab to take us to the train station at the end of the trip.
The apartment is very big and comfortable, in a beautiful setting. The courtyard is peaceful and amenable to quiet contemplation. And as an added bonus, the courtyard comes with a family of tortoises. One of which was always eager to come by and say hello.
Everything worked as advertised, and we could not have been happier with the support provided by Gio and his team.
We would not hesitate to stay here again, or recommend it to friends.
Only a 2 minutes walk from Corso Magenta, a 5 minutes walk from Piazza Duomo and a 10 minutes walk from both Cadorna (Malpensa Airport Express Train) and S.Ambrogio underground stations. The apartment is located in Milan central historical district, within the prestigious Roman Quarter. Some of the most famous cultural institutions like Palazzo della Triennale, the Teatro alla Scala, Museo Bagatti Valsecchi and the Cenacolo da Vinci are only minutes away, and for the shopping enthusiasts, both Corso Magenta and Via Torino, both Corso Vittorio Emanuele and Monte Napoleone, with its legendary boutiques, are within easy reach. Piazza Duomo and Piazza Affari are in close proximity as well. All services and amenities are very close: a supermarket, a bakery and a deli shop are a 2 minutes walk while fancy shops, antique shops and art galleries a 5 to 10 minutes walk.
