Overview

Mount Snow Area Chalet Rental Photos and Description

- 3 bedrooms plus loft, 2 full bathrooms, sleeps 13, 3100 sq ft

This new lakefront cedar log cabin is available the rental season! Minutes away from Mount Snow and Stratton, winter activities include: skiing, ice skating and ice fishing. Also 2 miles from the center of Wilmington.

The property has 160 ft of water frontage on Spruce Lake. Fish for brook trout in this privately stocked lake. Take our 2 canoes and 2 kayaks out on the lake for a fishing or site-seeing trip. Swim from our private beach or canoe to a shared beach at the end of the lake. Fall asleep to the sound of the brook running just outside the cabin!

This is the perfect family vacation. The lake does not allow motor boats and the lake frontage has a shallow sandy entry.

Wildlife abound!: The lake, brook and surrounding woods provide a perfect wildlife habitat.

This year we've seen: moose, black bear, deer, heron, beaver, otter, geese, ducks. The family of ducks ask to be fed at least twice a day. Moose tracks have been seen on our beach. And a pair of black bear are well known to the area (keep the trash cans lids latched!).

The brook has brook trout, frogs, turtles and crayfish. And of course the lake is loaded with perch, brook trout, rock bass, and mud puppies.

In the surrounding woods the kids will also enjoy catching salamanders, newts, and garter snakes.

Waterfront Fire Pit ! We have a burn pit on our private beach. We provide the firewood; you provide the marshmallows!

About Tim Ryan

We are a family of 4 who love water and winter activities. So what could be better than a waterfront chalet 10 miles from Mount Snow!

Tim Ryan purchased this chalet in 2006

Why Tim Ryan chose Mount Snow Area

We built this cedar log home as a 4 season retreat. The lake provides: fishing, swimming, canoeing, and ice skating.

And great skiing and golf is within 10 miles of the house.

What makes this chalet unique

The smell of cedar greets you at the door.

The house has geothermal heat and CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING! No hot muggy summer nights here.

The lake has been privately stocked with brook trout and rainbow trout for over 20 years

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear new family,

Hi! We are the kids of the previous family. You will notice there is a baby duck swimming around by herself. Her mother and four siblings (you will see these swimming around too) abandoned her. Well, her name is Petunla and she likes company. If you sit in the water she will swim around you. If you have any food, she would love to take it, but feed her sparingly. She needs to learn to find food by herself.

Thank you,

previos family

Wonderful any season!!!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a fantastic visit over the winter that we had to come back in the summer. The ice skating was so much fun with my children. They spent the entire time outside sledding, skating, roasting marshmellows and building snow caves. When we went back in the summer, it was like a whole new vacation, between, the swimming, canoeing, and expolring in the woods. We took our bikes out for a ride into town as well. I love the house!! It feels like a luxury to be in a space that is so clean and comfortable. Having the movies and games for kids was great. Thank you for a wonderful vacation. We are going to be back for sure.

Perfect house for any season!

  • 5 of 5

All 12 of us totally loved the house, and skiing at Mount Snow over the weekend. We were super excited once we entered the house, and loved the view and the interior setting of the house. It was very cozy, comfortable, and a wonderful vacation overall. We had a good time in the evening, and could relax while watching the movies on the VCR and playing games such as ping pong, chess etc. Mount snow is just 20 minutes away, and an easy drive.

We had the issue as one of our cars got stuck on the driveway while going up, but the neighbors were super helpful. Tim was also very responsive, and sent a plot truck right away.

We would totally love to visit again in the summer/fall, and enjoy the lake view and some kayaking in the lake :)

Just perfect

  • 5 of 5

We had a great vacation with a large family that went from 13 yesr-olds through 78 year-old (9 total). The house is excelent in all ways, bigger than what it looks. Well equipped, good beds, distribution of rooms for the kids, for the older ones, good kitchen. The view with the lake is beautiful. No bother from other houses intervention at all. Part of the troop went skiing to Mount Snow daily, part of it stayed at home reading or playing ping pong downstairs. It's a very easy drive to Mount Snow, no more than half an hour. We went in a 12-person-Van and had some trouble with the icy path although it ewas not very cold nor did it snow; that could be an issue to take into account under difficult weather conditions. In general, a great vacation. Reccomended.

Great Family Vacation on the Lake!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lake House. The house was beautiful, clean, and organized. The lake was quiet, serene, and perfect for swimming and canoeing. We ranged in age from 2 years old to 70 years old and everyone was happy with their stay. We enjoyed the fire pit several nights and we had some great ping pong tournaments in the basement. My 2 year old enjoyed the toys that were hanging out in the loft. We cooked most meals at the house and found the kitchen and grill easy to use. We are already planning our next stay! Thank you so much!

Very peaceful area and a beautiful view

  • 5 of 5

This was our 6th time here and we love it. We visit once in the fall and winter. The owner is easy and quick to communicate with and always very welcoming of us. The house itself is beautiful on the inside and you can't beat the view of the lake from sitting inside or on the back deck. It is minutes from a little coffee shop, town where you can walk around to restaurants and shops, and not too far from mini golfing and Mt. Snow for those who enjoy winter activities. It is very nice and quiet and there is a private road so you don't hear any cars or loud noise as in the city. The house comes equipped with everything-and there is a Shaw's market right up the road to get your groceries. We've always gone with friends however this is a great place for families too. We always feel right at home from the moment we arrive until we leave. We love it and it makes for a great long weekend stay! Always a fun experience, and always sad to go home!
