About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

OFF SEASON (Sept to May) Nightly rate is $295 per night. Summer rates are higher.

Weekly rental during the summer months: Saturday to Saturday ONLY.

The nightly rate does NOT include tax, cleaning, reservation fee or damage waiver.

The rate of $295pn is for the 'off season' which is September to May only.

Summer rates listed below and on my website.

I DO NOT list my Surf Rider Condo on Craigslist. There have been many vacation rental scams on CL recently. If you see a Surf Rider condo listed on CL and the nightly rate seems too good to be true, then it probably is.

Each Surf Rider Condo is individually owned and managed. I only own and manage this listing within the Surf Rider Condo complex.

This upstairs middle unit, ocean front condo is totally TOP OF THE LINE!! Luxuries include a Jacuzzi, large plasma screen TV with a DVD player, vaulted ceilings, fireplace, slate flooring throughout, granite counter tops in kitchen, travertine in both bathrooms, top of the line stainless steel appliances, dishwasher, and a front loading washer and dryer in the condo.

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE!!

The interior offers breathtaking views from the living room, as well as from the pillow-top ultra comfy bed in the master bedroom where you can sit in bed and enjoy the waves, dolphins and surfers. There are also ocean views from the second bedroom which has its own private entrance.

The Surf Rider ocean front condo will sleep 4 adults in two queen beds. The sofa in the living room will make into a double bed for extra sleeping space.

This condo is on the 2nd floor, the second unit in from the boardwalk with amazing ocean views and has a private patio with seating which is located outside, directly in front of the interior dining area. (Photo shows the 6' sliding glass door and a 7' unobstructed window facing the ocean, this is where the condo's reserved patio area is located.) In addition to the private patio area for our condo, there is also a large common (shared) patio downstairs surrounding the Jacuzzi and BBQ area complete with chairs and chaise lounges for your use.

We have stocked the property with all the cooking utensils you could ask for... lots of pots & pans, knives, hand mixer, the VERY important blender for making margaritas, wine glasses, wine opener, plastic tumblers to take to the beach, beach chairs, beach towels, serving dishes and utensils, BBQ tools too...it's all here for your use and enjoyment.

Don't miss your chance!! Reserve your week in this deluxe ocean front condo now.

This condo has ONE reserved parking spot. (Please note: The owners do not guarantee your vehicle will be able to fit in the parking space provided, nor are we able to provide additional parking if the assigned parking is too small. We have never had a problem with large vehicles NOT fitting into the parking spot provided, though it may need to be backed in if it is a large SUV)

PLEASE NOTE: The owner does not guarantee that the Jacuzzi will be available or operational. Jacuzzi could be closed for service or not working. Although we hope that any such interruptions would be brief, owner is not responsible for the availability of the Jacuzzi during your stay.

No Parties allowed on property. Partying may result in immediate removal from property without refund.

The entire Surf Rider Condo complex is a non smoking property.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Heather,

We have had a wonderful stay in your condo. It has met all our needs in a great location; it's a terrific place. The communication you provide along with the reservation and the written info in the unit are very helpful. Everything went smoothly. The condo is clean, organized and arranged with furniture and kitchen appliances & supplies to meet all our needs. All we had to do was unlock the doors & begin our San Diego beach vacation! Being able to look out the huge windows, or sit on our deck or lower patio & see the beach and fabulous boardwalk activity right in front of us was awesome & very entertaining!! Undoubtedly the best beach rental we have done so far. Truly love your place!

Amazing beachfront condo!

  • 5 of 5

This is our second time booking this property, and we absolutely love it! The view from the living room right out to the pacific ocean, is so nice! Also, being right on the boardwalk, makes for easy access to the sand, or Belmont Park which is just a short 5 minute walk away. We like to think of this property as our home away from home, whenever we come to San Diego. We will absolutely be booking this property, for our next family vacation to San Diego!

Property was clean and just like the picture. Everything that we needed was in the condo. It was right on the beach in the middle of everything. The people were so friendly!! Overall, I was impressed and will be back again. Also, the price was very reasonable!!

Location and amenities are superb

  • 5 of 5

The Surfrider unit K was a wonderful small family gathering point for our Northern California clan of 5 to gather for our son's college graduation. Heather provided the linens, towels, beach towels and toys in her unit that comes well supplied with the things you otherwise would be stopping to purchase at the store upon moving in. Basic spices, plastic wrap and bags, and paper products along with ample soap, shampoo, trash bags, and clothes washer detergent were awaiting us and very much appreciated. Heather's instructions are clear and easy to follow. With some exploring of the shelves, you will find a large amount of reading and area information to use.

The facility has both a hot tub and barbecues in the common area. Parking spot is a bit tight and longer vehicles take some maneuvering to get in position. The Internet is via wifi and the speed is slow, as it is DSL based. The interior of the unit is nice and functional. One thing to be aware of - the master bathroom has no door : a curtain or blind would both provide greater privacy and reduce the light coming into the bedroom through the skylight. The exterior of almost all units are experiencing the impact of ocean front corrosion - the large sliding door is the primary victim as it took two adult men to open and close it and the screen door wheels are not very functional. With the breeze and lack of flying insects you can leave the walk through door open to cool the unit down without dealing with the slider.

The location is very nice - about a 5 minute walk to Belmont Park and the parking area if visitors can not find on street parking on the main road. It is about a 20 minute walk north to the PB pier. Shopping for almost all groceries can be done about a mile up the road at the Ralph's with the underground parking area.

I would recommend this location for one two two couples or a family of 5 who get along well in tighter than home -like conditions. It provides fairly ready access to things while also giving you that exclusive beachfront living experience that most of us do not have the opportunity to have but for a few days if we seek it out.

Waking up to being able to see the waves, the beach, and the ocean front walk from the dining area (or bedroom if the curtains are open in that room) is a pleasure provided when you stay in Unit K at the Surfrider.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review! I am glad you had a nice stay in the Surf Rider for your sons graduation. One small note: our unit is actually unit L...not unit K as stated in the review. Regarding the sliding door, I am in the process of having the sliding door wheels replaced and they are actually on order and should be installed later this week or next. Thank you again for your review.

Property is in an ideal location, close to everything

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at surfrider! We wanted relaxing sand, beach and sun, and we all got what we came for! The kitchen has everything you need to make meals, and there are plenty of dishes and silverware, even spices!! Although the property is in a great location, the indoors could use some updating as far as linens & bedding go. The lounge chairs could stand to be replaced or at least steam cleaned. We expected sand because it is on the beach, but a nice stiff broom to be able to sweep up would be ideal. Other than that, and the fact that the sliding door was next to impossible to open due to salt water/ not to owners lack of attention! We all know what salt water can do to metal :( We had a wonderful time and look forward to another trip next year.

Owner's Response: Hi Christine! Thank you for your review. I just spent the entire weekend shopping and sprucing up the condo with new bedding, linens, curtains and decor...I will post new pictures on VRBO soon. There is a broom and dustpan in the second bedroom closet but perhaps it needs replacing? Also, yes...the salt air eats up EVERYTHING at the beach including the sliding door wheels. I am working on getting the sliding door wheels repaired/replaced right away so it will open/close with ease. I hope we get to see you again next year! Yours, Heather

I do not allow for cancellations and do not offer refunds should you have to cancel your stay after you reserve. I will do my best to work with you and try to get the condo re-rented should you have a change of plans. If I need to discount the rental rate of the condo in order to re-rent it for the same time frame you had rented, you will lose the amount of the discount as well as a $150 cancellation fee. If the condo does not re-rent for the time frame you canceled you will lose the entire cost of the reservation and not receive a refund. If you think you may have to cancel your stay I suggest you either wait to book my condo until you are sure, or purchase travel insurance. Make sure to read the TI policy so you know what IS and IS NOT covered. You can purchase it through any TI site you wish. I cannot insure against the reasons you may need to cancel, but you can by purchasing travel insurance. We are not a hotel and cannot immediately replace a cancelation with a new reservation. Once we have a reservation, it means that we lose all of the other potential reservations that may have wanted to rent the same time period. This is why we cannot accept cancelations. Thank you for your understanding.

  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
