Quiet, Exclusive Community: Kirkwood Circle is an exclusive beachfront community on Scarborough Beach. Residents have exclusive use of the white sandy beach that stretches for a mile or more by walking down a short private path. Swimmers find the surf mild enough for casual swimming but also lively enough for some body surfing.
The views are spectacular of neighboring islands and ocean rock formations and the Black Point area is fraught with remnants of the French & Indian War and the skirmishes that took place.
We had a wonderful time in Scarborough last month. The beach was just the best--I actually went swimming, which I haven't done in Maine for years as I'm a sissy when it comes to cold water!
We enjoyed our stay at Scarborough beach. The beach house was very comfortable, roomy and had very good access to probably the best beach in the area. You can easily walk to the beach and we enjoyed going to the beach and looking for shells and sea glass. We even found sand dollars and sea stars!
We sold our home and needed a temporary place to stay. Like any time you move it has memories of joy and sadness. But when we entered the home it was so comfortable. It made our stay easier. The environment in and outside of the home was very inviting. We made a hot coffee put on the gas fireplace and continue to take in a great view out of the large picture window. Many beautiful birds along with the red squirell was gathering it's food. The ocean was just a short walk across the street. The beach was awesome. It felt like the ocean was just for us. Beautiful , rocks on left and open sands on the right that went for a great walk. Shells and driftwood is always fun collecting. Seagull flying over head. The house was so clean and cozy made our transition more enjoyable adventure. I would highly recommend this home for any time of year it was amazing ! One last important note hearing the ocean sound was so soothing and relaxing that I had no trouble sleeping. Looking for a great place to stay Kirkwood, Blackpoint beach is your perfect getaway..
The Property was very well maintained, it was very clean & felt just like home. Very comfortable feel to the house, just a small walk to the beach, very safe neighborhood. The beach was absolutely gorgeous set privately as well. Absolutely loved the deep jacuzzi tub. Will most definitely be coming back.
I knew the general area of Maine where I wanted to vacation and finding this house was perfect. Not only is the location to the beach just right, but it offered the quiet, peace and low-key pace I was looking for.
The house was in fact larger than I needed, so we only used a portion of it. It was very comfortably furnished with a fully outfitted kitchen, lots of great sitting areas and plenty of outdoor spaces to utilize. I appreciated how clean it was - top to bottom. There was nothing lacking here. Clearly there is a lot of TLC in this place. We look forward to visiting again....
We had a fabulous time! Three generations combined to celebrate our son's graduation from the College of Pharmacy. There was plenty of room to visit and entertain, or to just relax in peace and quiet. The home is clean, well-cared-for, and beautifully appointed. Our host, Valerie, gave us great tips for a memorable lobster feast. The Neighbors were friendly, and the beach was spectacular! Everyone said they would love to return.
My family and I did a long week-end at 4 Atlantic Place last Fall. The grounds were very well taken care of and the house was immaculate. All of the amenities were in working order and extremely clean. I would never hesitate to rent this property again and have told many of my friends about it that may be looking to rent in the area.
Prouts Neck is an exceptional destination. Located on an isthmus of land in Scarborough, Maine, it is the former home and inspiration for Winslow Homer, the famous American painter. The house from which he worked is located shortly up the road at Black Point.
The property is located in an exclusive beach community and is a stone's throw up a private pathway to Scarborough Beach. The white sands of the beach stretch for a mile or so and afford beachgoers ample scenery for art work or just a quiet and secluded place to enjoy the sun, surf and sand.
It is located about 15 minutes from the major city of Portland and the Old Seaport that houses a variety of gift shops, restaurants, especially seafood restaurants and is the departure terminal for The Bluenose Ferry as well as a variety of other ocean excursions.
For baseball fans you may also have the opportunity to watch the Portland Sea Dogs, a double A farm team for the Boston Red Sox.
