We have enjoyed the Oaks of Olivet since 2004 as visitors to Sonoma County. In July of 2010 we made the move from Minnesota to live here full time. We are affordable housing developers and work from our home office. We are on site to make sure our guests have everything they need, but understand that guests call the shots on how much privacy is necessary.
Michelle Olson purchased this cottage in 2004
We fell in love in San Francisco and then visited wine country. This area was an annual anniversary trip for us after we married. The annual trips turned into quarterly visits to Sonoma and Napa. We truely fell for Sonoma and decided to purchase and make a plan to move here to live full time. Our 10 year plan has now come to fruition. We really love the friendly people in the area and the ease of life in general. The local fresh produce is also a real plus.
We have 9 award winning wineries on our road. Our property has a full fruit orchard and gardens that we share with our guests. We currently have peach, pear, plum, apple, fig and apricots. We have recently added a propane fire pit and a two person hot tub behind the cottage for our guests to enjoy.
Great folks and cozy cottage
Loved our stay at oaks of Olivet. Beautiful sunrises with coffee and wine and cheese in the evening on the porch. So comfy and welcoming and perfectly located for any activity . The owners make you feel totally at home and are helpful with everything. We'll be back!
We had an excellent time at "Oaks of Olivet" - so great we had to stay an extra day!! The cabin is very comfortable and homy - our kids of 9 and 10 loved to pet the animals and throw a few balls in the basketball hoop, the porch is a great spot for breakfast and bbq at night. Michelle is a great host and the homemade marmelade she put for us was delicious! We drove down to the coast via the windy Occidental road, visited Bodega Bay and trips to the Russian River and Armstrong Redwood forrest: A wonderful stay that will remain in our memories!!
It's a small quaint cabin so relaxing a great place to de stress.Very private they go out of their way to give suggestions for things to do and place to eat .Great bed and the best outside shower but they do have a inside also .they left us fresh plums on the counter so sweet .We stayed four night they have goats and alphacas they also had sheep and rooster and horses around .Lots of vinyards on there road. And the best porch swing on the patio I would highly recommend if you just need a break from life . It is not a 5 star luxury if that's what you are looking for but we will definitely go back we loved it so close to venture to small towns around and the north coast is about 25 mins and the Armstrong redwood Forrest about the same
We had a most relaxing weekend at "Rancho Relaxo" and wanted to say thank you. Your cottage there is lovely, comfortable, and more spacious than expected. We slept very well as the beds were very comfortable and all was quiet. Thank you for making up the bed for our son, too. Lots of thoughtful touches throughout, and we enjoyed the artwork and how it was decorated. The plums were delicious, thank you. We enjoyed meeting all your four-legged members (dogs, cats, alpacas, goats). It was truly a pleasure to stay there.
I cannot say enough about the Oaks of Olivet. This gem in the middle of the Russian Valley is a beautiful cottage that lends new meaning to peaceful. The property is a absolute delight. It has all the needed ingredients for a great visit. Property is located within 10 minutes of many great boutique family owned wineries. The hosts are the best we have ever had on VRBO. They go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of, from the wine & cheese upon your arrival to their making sure your trip if going well. They provide great recommendations to wineries, restaurant and other activities in the area. This property is one worth visiting many times. We will be back as often as we can.
