The chalet has lovely views and a spacious living area with a cosy wood-burning stove. There is a balcony which goes right around the property. We have a good selection of DVDs, books and games. The TV has UK terrestrial channels. Wifi throughout the chalet. The kitchen has a microwave, full oven, dishwasher and fridge. Large farmhouse table which seats eight. There are two twin bedrooms, a double and a bunk room. There is ample parking and the garage is handy for ski equipment storage. Outside is a terrace with table, chairs and umbrella and a gas barbecue for summer dining.
We had a very nice week in this chalet. The fact that one bedroom was on the group floor with a seperate bathroom is a definite plus when travelling with several families. Another highlight was the proximity to the center (15 minute walk) and the piou piou club (5 minute walk) where our daughter learned to ski. Overall a very comfortable Chalet, just the kitchen could be better equipped.
The property was lovely, really well equipped and very snug and everyone was incredibly helpful. We had a really great week, recommend it very highly
We enjoyed our walking holiday while staying in this delightful chalet. We felt at home in this well appointed property & enjoyed cooking in the well equipped kitchen.
The location is excellent , easy walking distance to the centre of Chatel & near a bus stop that takes you to major lifts.
We really enjoyed our walking holiday in this comfortable chalet. The chalet had everything we needed and we enjoyed cooking in the well equipped kitchen/diner following our aperitifs on the sunny patio. The garage provided good storage for our wet ( on one occasion!) walking gear and the lovely shuttered bedrooms ensured a good night's sleep. An exceptional treat was cooking local sausages (diots) on the gas barbecue. The chalet has an excellent selection of board games as well. The walking was fantastic - using the ski lifts to take us high up meant the views were terrific!
I stayed here for a week's skiing with a group of 5 friends. The chalet was cosy and welcoming and the wood-burning stove certainly kept us snug and warm!
The coming facilities were very good and the kitchen table was a really good size and perfect for dining with a big group.
Chatel is a lovely wee village and the Portes De Soleil is a fantastic area for skiing. There is a bus stop right outside the chalet that takes you to the long a lifts.
All in all a great week, and I would certainly recommend it!
Chatel is a pretty alpine village and gives access to the whole Portes du Soleil ski area. The views are wonderful and the village well-placed for easy access from Geneva Airport (90 mins) or by car. There are two supermarkets within walking distance and a larger one a short drive away. The village has a good range of bars and restaurants and is family-friendly. There is an excellent swimming pool complex within the village. Cross-country skiing is also available in the area.
