This charming house which is covered in trumpet vine and English roses, has been lovingly restored and features two

fireplaces, both with orignal antique mantles. The home has been

beautifully furnished and features hand knotted area rugs and many antiques from the area.

Large, bright principle rooms, fully equipped eat-in country

kitchen with brand new stainless steel appliances including a Thermador induction cook top and a Kitchen Aid wall oven. There are 4 spacious bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms and a heated pool. The two large bedrooms upstairs have ensuite baths.

There are original wide plank pine floors throughout the home and exposed wooden beams dating back to when the

house was built in 1820. Although full of original charm,

respecting the homes history, it is well equipped with all modern

amenities such as 40 inch LCD HDTV with Blu-Ray player, wireless internet access, iPod docking station with CD sound system, washer and dryer, dishwasher, central air conditioning, jacuzzi tub and 2 fireplaces.

The house is approximately 2500 square feet.

From the foyer is the Dining Room with a large harvest pine table

and ladder back chairs. The wooden beams have been exposed and the brick fireplace has a huge hearth. There is a Canadiana pine writing desk over in the corner in front of the window which is partially covered by trumpet vine and roses.

The dining room leads into the eat-in country kitchen with antique

pine cupboards, sandstone counter tops, an island, wooden beams, wall oven built into a brick wall, gas cook top, and a Corian pastry counter.

It is completely equipped with dishwasher, microwave and all

amenities needed to prepare a gourmet meal at home.

The pine table in front of the window is great for breakfast or

casual dinners as an alternative to the elegant dining room.

The Family Room located off the kitchen is very spacious with plenty of comfortable seating and a fireplace. It features double French doors leading to the flagstone patio surrounded by an English garden and and the heated pool. There is a 40 inch LCD HDTV with Blu-Ray player and sound system

with CD, radio and iPod docking station.

The backyard is a private retreat behind wrought iron gates and

wisteria arbours. It features a flagstone patio, Dining table for

8 and a lounging area. The gas BBQ is connected to the house

eliminating the need for propane.

The small bistro table and chairs are there for the children if

needed.

The Master bedroom located on the 2nd floor(15X17 feet)has a Queen bed framed by the original wooden beams which adds a lot charm to the room.

It features a 3 pc ensuite bathroom with large shower,

pedestal sink and seperate antique vanity.

The bedroom also features a seating area with white wicker chairs.

The door leads to a walk out to the large deck overlooking the pool in the backyard. Outside on the deck is a wrought iron

table and chairs with unbrella which makes it a nice place for your morning coffee or a glass of wine before dinner.

The 2nd bedroom upstairs(17X13 feet) features 2 twin beds and a 4 piece ensuite bathroom with full bath, pedestal sink, and an antique tiled vanity. This bedroom is full of charm with original pine doors and wooden beams.

Why Angelo Molinaro chose Niagara-on-the-Lake

We have always loved Niagara-on-the-Lake as we both grew up in this area and our family lives near by.

We wanted to find a heritage home in the historical district and had been looking for some time when we came across this charmer. We knew the minute we walked through the front door and saw all the exposed wooden beams we knew that we would be putting an offer on it!

Avalon was built in the late 1820's. We have the documentation showing the first sale of the property back in 1820 when it was first traded for 600 GBP($1000 CAD). In those days the currency used was the GBP.

The house was in excellent shape. All we needed to do was a bit of decorating and we added the swimming pool and enhanced the landscaping. Before we purchased it in 2006, it was a successful B&B and the previous owner took great care of it.

We try to stay there ourselves when it is not being enjoyed by guests. We love the fact that the house is a half a block to Queen St and the car is never necessary except for arriving and leaving the town.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We stayed at Avalon with our grown kids and their 2 children in January for a

long weekend. The home is a gorgeous heritage home with wooden beams

throughout.

We loved the over sized country kitchen! Great for gathering around and

cooking together.

We want to return in the summer when the pool is open.

The home is located one block from Queen street which added to our stay as

we could walk to everything and never take the car out.

We didn't want to leave!

Family Week at Avalon

  • 5 of 5

My parents, my sister and I traveled to Niagara On the Lake this May of 2016 for a family trip and to visit family who live in the area. After talking to the owners by phone we decided this house was perfect for our situation and our parents who didn't want to use stairs to get to a bedroom. There are two bedrooms downstairs with one bathroom, two bedrooms upstairs with their own bathrooms and we certainly had more room than we needed. This house was really lovely and the neighborhood was beautiful in May with the tulips blooming. The backyard was private and well manicured with a nice pool for summer usage although it wasn't quite "pool season" but we enjoyed sitting outside. It is just a few walking blocks from the downtown area and cafes and a small grocery store and a drug store. The owners went out of their way to call us and ask us if there was anything we needed and answer any questions. I would highly recommend this home and I look forward to staying here again.

A Canadian Treasure

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of 5 retired women that have traveled to many locations and rented homes over our 16 years of "Annual Get-Aways". We were so lucky to have found this gem of a home in Niagara on the Lake. This charming home not only has a fantastic location, but is so tastefully decorated that we felt cozy the moment we walked in the door. It is very well maintained, and Kerri and Angelo are wonderful hosts. The convenience of this house to restaurants, theater, shopping, parks, and Fort George really made driving unnecessary. This home was a delight.

Holiday Stay at Avalon

  • 5 of 5

We chose Avalon for our family's pre-Christmas celebrations because it looked so pretty, and because it is a short walk to the charming centre of Niagara on the Lake. We spent six days in the house, and were all very pleased with the experience.

The house looks as the pictures show it: clean, attractive and comfortable, and, at this time of year, full of holiday touches including a Christmas tree. Since our son was not going to be with us on Christmas Day, we especially appreciated this-- it helped us feel we’d had the holiday together, after all.

Other favourite features included the electric fireplace, which makes the living room very cozy; the comfortable mattresses; and the well-equipped, attractive kitchen. We also appreciated the responsiveness and professionalism of the owners.

Like most houses in Old Town NotL, this is an older home. It has its quirks, its tilts, and its unique features. But for many who visit NotL, the historic aspect is one of the delights, so these shouldn’t be a problem for most visitors.

Overall, we were very pleased with our time at Avalon, and would not hesitate to rent this, or any other home offered by Angelo and Kerri, in the future.

Family Weekend in NOTL

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 8 stayed at the Avalon for the first time in November. Everyone was so impressed by the home, the decor and location. The pictures captured the house exactly as shown. We wanted for nothing. The owners were very accommodating and responsive. We would highly recommend the Avalon, and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Excellent house for a getaway

  • 5 of 5

My 6 sisters and I have stayed at the Avalon twice. Both times for our annual shopping getaway. We love the location .... so close to Queen street and all of its action and a short drive to the new outlet mall @ the QEW. Oh and let's not forget the hundreds of wineries that surrounded us! The house is well equipped and decorated beautifully. Plenty of room for all of us..... And our shopping!

Wonderful spot for a family vacation

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at Avalon House - November 1-8. The house was wonderful. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The location was perfect - a block from Queen street but still quiet. All ten of us, including a three year old and an eight year old thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Kerri and Angelo were quick to get back to us when we inquired, everything we needed was available during our week's stay. Ample space for everyone to be together in the living room and the kitchen was great for several people to be cooking in at the same time. Very short walk to grocery, cheese stores and many good restaurants. We rented bikes to go further afield, e.g., to ride along the Niagara parkway - bike rental close by. Owners provided great suggestions for restaurants and wineries in advance of our visit.
