Guestbook comments from the manager

Hello Judith and John,

I wanted to tell you that we really enjoyed our family vacation in your beautiful home.

It was very spacious and had everything we needed. It was very relaxing and quiet

which gave us some really enjoyable family time. Our puppy loved the canoe as well

and the large yard of course.

Thank you so much!!!

A beautiful spot!! Very clean and well maintained

  • 4 of 5

We arrived after dark on a bitter cold evening. The lights were on and welcoming and the house was warm. Very open and spacious. Less than 10 miles to Sugarloaf which allowed for family to come and go easily. Only issue we had was limited hot water but once we figured it out, we had it! We would visit again.

Private with great views!

  • 5 of 5

The manager Cheryl was very nice and was quick to solve any issues we had. The house is large, clean and well appointed with everything you need. Flagstaff Lake is perfect for canoeing, kayaking with lots of areas to explore. Unfortunately not a great fishing lake if that's your thing- but other places around the area are good. Plenty of places to hike & bicycle also. Keep your eyes out for moose- we saw 4 in the area. The gazebo is nice to sip drinks & read bug free! Our dogs loved the big yard and easy access to water. Thank you for the use of your home!

Long posting about a great vacation experience...

  • 5 of 5

My husband, son, and two dogs have been renting properties on VRBO and Homeaway for years now. This is by far one of the best places we've chosen for our vacation destination. When we first arrived, we were taken aback by the absolute privacy and quiet that awaited us. You cannot see another house or person from the yard or the dock area. It was a short walk to the end of the driveway to get to the dock and lake. The lake and mountain scenery are purely majetic. We used the canoe and pedal boat several times a day for exploring and for fishing. The yard is very large, our dogs loved roaming around out there. Food store, ice cream shoppe and restaurants are around the corner. The house itself is beautiful and gleaming. It is very solidly built and offers a lot of quiet, peace, and comfort within. Before we even arrived, the manager/caretaker, Cheryl, was extremely helpful and efficient with the booking procedings and also went out of her way to make sure that we had all the activities info we needed to enjoy our trip. She kept in touch with me via email periodically, checking in to see if we had any questions. Since she lives in the area, she was very helpful and knowledgeable. When we arrived, we had a couple of minor "quirky" things occur, and Cheryl was over in literally 5 minutes to take care of us. She is always reachable, either by phone, text, or email. which made us feel secure. We would absolutely recommend this property and are looking forward to returning next summer. Thank you Cheryl for all of your wonderful hospitality. Toni S. and family

What a great spot!

  • 4 of 5

Just a tremendous getaway for eight city dwellers. The quiet was probably the best part. Summer is a great time to visit Flagstaff Lake. We used the canoe and kayaks every day. Just a great way to get around this beautiful man-made lake. We visited the public beach twice and enjoyed the cool water on some very warm days. We loved the gazebo. We brought a lamp out and played some spirited board games well into the night. The gazebo is also comfortable for midday reading. We ate in most of the time and the kitchen was perfect for preparing food and we all fit at the table. The beds were comfortable. We fell asleep ealy and woke up late. We made trips to Sugarloaf for the ski lift ride and to visit the bar. We also enjoyed a tremendous dinner at Longfellow's in Kingfield one night. The ice cream stand is a short walk and the town of Stratton was worth a walk as well (although a little longer). We highly recommend this beautiful house on a picturesque lake.

Everything was perfect. The listing was accurate, place was clean and well maintained. I would definately reccommend to anyone looking to stay in the area. We spent the majority of our time at Sugarloaf Ski Area and this location was very convenient.
