Laudonie, hidden between the woody hills, lies 4 km east of Rouffignac-Saint-Cernin-de-Reilhac.
The terrain measures 53 ha: it lies partially in Plazac, and partially in Rouffignac-Saint-Cernin-de-Reilhac.
The estate is located at the end of a small country road. When approaching the gate you will immediately notice the imposing building. The buildings rest on a ridge with an astonishing view of the surrounding valleys and hills. The courtyard is the heart of the compound formed by the manor house, the four towers and the barn.
The manor house is also known as le Château Laudonie in town. It offers accommodations for 12 people. The residence has 2 floors with 3 bedrooms each, all of which have a private bathroom. The six bedrooms all have names: Le Placial, La Combe, Le Petit Merly, Pouchounet, Barre and Bas Veyssou: all names of parts of the estate. On the ground floor, there is a completely fitted kitchen, living room and lounge area. On the east side: a lovely terrace that opens onto the valley: breakfast in the sun, dozing off under the plane tree in the afternoon and enjoying the spectacular shades of light at night.
Tower North has accommodations totalling some 100 sq.m. It is ideal for 2 people. There is a completely fitted kitchen with dining corner, a lounge area with wood-burning stove, one bedroom, a bathroom and a sunny private terrace.
Tower West is comparable with Tower North in terms of size and lay-out.
Tower South is smaller and fitted as a 'sleeping extension' for the manor and/or Tower North. It sleeps 4 and has a private bathroom, but no kitchen. It is an ideal place for kids and youngsters.
The pool is situated away from the courtyard. It has a sun terrace of about 400 sq.m: lovely for sunbathing in the comfortable sun loungers or for enjoying an aperitif in the lounge seats. Dining is possible at the table in the shaded area. Next to the terrace there is a petanque square and tennis court. The pool house provides a sauna, toilet, double shower, changing room and a kitchenette.
The concierge house is located behind the pool. The concierge house and the pool are separated by a wall, ensuring everyone's privacy.
There is also roofed and an open-air parking. Naturally the parking and swimming pool are common areas.
During the high and middle season all units are rented per week, from Saturday till Saturday. During low season more flexible renting periods are possible.
Laudonie was bought in 2001 by Pierre Caron, my first husband. Thanks to his "love at first sight" and his enthusiasm Laudonie became a meaningful place where family and friends shared unforgettable times. After his passing, we continued the restoration of Laudonie in cooperation with architect Stephane Boens, which we finally completed, creating the beautiful property you can enjoy today.

Dordogne - Périgord is more popular than ever as a tourist destination. Explore tranquil towns with vivid market days; delight in the perennially green and gently rolling landscapes in which rivers like the Dordogne and Vézère make their ways. Thanks to this, the region perfectly fulfils the expectations visitors have about 'the deep France'. Delights such as black truffles and foie gras are just the icing on the cake. And then there is still Laudonie. Laudonie?
Since 2001 we have been restoring the Laudonie estate piece by piece, with respect for its original, historical charm. “Patet porta sed magis cor”, is written above the gate: "my door is open, but even more so my heart". The print of a scallop indicates that ages ago pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostella have stopped by... In other words, Laudonie is a unique place to stay.
The estate is located at the end of the road. Once through the gates of Laudonie you arrive in an oasis of fully natural tranquillity. It’s the ideal place to relax and enjoy.
