LOVE the views this house offers! The upstairs was great and very well put together. The walk down to the beach is a little steep and slippery this time of year but to be expected. Only 4 stars because of the downstairs bedrooms and bathroom. They need a lot of updating and love. Otherwise, great space, great view, great location!
The view from the decks is absolutely phenomenal. The inside decor is very appropriate and cute for a beach-side home. We had seven adults and two children in our group and could have easily accommodated four more people. The kitchen was well stocked with basic essentials for cooking; completely appropriate for a vacation rental. The hot tub was working just fine. The walk down to the beach is a bit steep, but easily manageable for the average adult (and my 2 year old niece and 4 year old nephew). The beach has lots of barnacles, but that's Washington for you. We enjoyed a nice swim out the buoy! There's a kitchen and firepit right down on the water. You could easily spend your whole vacation at the house and never leave. There is not much to do nearby which was fine with me. My in-laws took some leisurely walks nearby that they thoroughly enjoyed. There is a huge cupboard full of games in the living room that kept the little ones entertained all day. We stayed here for our wedding which was about 25 minutes away in Arlington. We ended up doing our grocery shopping there too at the Safeway. Frank, the property owner, was very communicative and friendly. There is a great binder in the house that has all the information you need about the property and clean-up before check-out, which I always appreciate.
The only problem we had was there was obviously some sort of leak going on in the house. The carpets in two of the bedrooms were extremely damp and smelled like mildew. My brother-in-law had left some pants on the floor and by the next morning they were absolutely soaked. I contacted Frank and he suggested that maybe this was due to a recent carpet cleaning, but it really didn't seem like that was the case. There was also some water leaking from under one of the bathroom sinks. Hopefully they can resolve this issue because it really was a gorgeous setting and an extremely pleasant stay otherwise.
This is not a good house for kids. The balconies aren't up to code and are dangerous for toddlers. The house could be very nice if it was cleaner and better maintained. Rocky beach doesn't allow for swimming.
Me and my crew from work decided to spend a couple of days out of town, and we just couldn't find a better place. Extremely spacious, fantastic views, large decks, hot tub, small private dock with fire pit – what else do you need? Alright, let's be fair, a couple of light bulbs were out – is that even a reason to bother? Overall, this place is well maintained. No problem with payment and deposit return (well, the owner has his own process here, a bit unusual, but don't worry about it). Five stars well deserved – we had great time out there.
We were told this place had a hot tub that was working, when we turned it on the jets only worked on one side and they barely worked. The whole house had a musty smell to it and the carpet was dirty downstairs. They had only a few towels per bathroom. The walk down to the beach is portrayed as easy but unless your in pretty good shape you wont be able to do it comfortably. The cable for all the tvs through out the whole house kept going off we had to re-set many times. There were only a few pans no cooking pans at all. The barbecue upstairs did not work kept burning the food. The next store neighbors were rude and unwelcoming we could not talk outside after 9pm nor play any music they called the owner and threatened to call the police. DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE!!!!! he also had me pay him thru some personal account and not VRBO or Home away which I thought was strange.
We had an absolutely lovely time at this beach house. The beautiful pictures portrayed on the website are true to form. The house was spotless and provided what we needed for our stay. The view over Port Susan was spectacular; which we especially enjoyed while sitting on the huge deck. There were eight of us with seven adults and we had plenty of room for ourselves. It's a bit of a drive if you want to go anywhere, but very doable as the scenery is worth it. We would return should we come back to the area again.
