What an amazing place to stay and best host! We already miss Barbara and her home. When we arrived after almost 24 hours of travel, she greeted us with dinner ready to eat on the outdoor patio for my best friends birthday with the most spectacular view of San Gimignano. The villa was everything we expected plus some. The grounds were gorgeous, the scenery breathtaking and the family made wine divine! Barbara was a wealth of information for things to do and see. I hope that I have the opportunity to come back and spend some more time with Barbara and her family. Thanks for having all of us,
Incredible Location, Villa and Host!
Wonderful property with an even better property manager! Barbara was incredibly gracious. She cooked an anniversary dinner and led our cooking class. villa was beautiful and exactly as described. Highly recommend. Thank you Barbara for our wonderful stay!
Renting a villa in Tuscany had been my dream for many years
Finding Podere Lo Spadino made that dream into reality. The amazing thing was the actual reality of staying at the villa exceeded my dream. Barbara and her family provided our group of three couples with superb meals, each lovingly prepared, from very creative menus and impressively everything was either grown on the estate or from local neighbors. Each guest can have as much privacy as they want but can access Barbara for information if they so desire.
The views of San Gimignano are stunning, the surrounding countryside is idyllic and the location in Tuscany provides many opportunities for day trips from the villa.
If you book Podere Lo Spadino, you will not be disappointed.
Grazie mille :) :) :)
Unimaginable Beauty, Authentic Charm and Delicious Vino at Podere Lo Spadino!
Podere Lo Spadino is not a place that is easy to describe as it is an experience of emotions as much as it is a vision of beauty.
Perfectly located in the rolling splendor of the Tuscan landscape and below the spectacular vision of San Gimignano, you rise over the last hill and the villa appears like an oasis from your dreams and you exhale.
Barbara and the Montagnani family greeted our family of eight adults with welcoming smiles and a sweet modest pride as we entered the magnificent entrance of their stone Tuscan country estate, a self-built labour of sweat and love.
A selection of meats, cheese, olives and breads awaited along with the Montagnani family house wines, which were authentically delicious. The high ceilings and spectacular views of the rolling hills and the Medieval walled town of San Gimignano are seemingly painted before you as you draw the silk curtains to the open air shuttered windows from the main room.
The villa is splendid in authenticity with Tuscan portraits and views of the rolling hillside in every direction and from every window. Many comfortable gathering spaces await; inside at the long dining table, outside you can choose from the vine cloaked canopy, on the upper level basking in the view of San Gimignano, or down at the pool and its 360 degree view of paradise.
The villa is perfectly located for day trips in any direction. We were usually back in time to enjoy some wine and a swim before we settled in to luxuriate in the warmth and glowing skies of the setting sun.
San Gimignano is less than 10 min drive away, and some of our crew walked there in an hour. Florence, Sienna and Venice via a high speed train were all wonderful day trips for us and easily manageable from the villa.
Be sure to take Barbara up on her authentic and delicious home cooked meal. Not a meal really, but an event! Our most enjoyable evening of the year for sure. A sensational outdoor setting with a stunning presentation of Tuscan stew, fresh pasta, and roast chicken, home grown vegetables and herbs and of course amazing wine. A wonderful evening that ended only because the sun returned for the start of another amazing day at the best Villa in all of Tuscany, the Montagnani's Podere Lo Spadino.
You will never want to leave.
Beautiful and relaxing
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this charming villa and especially enjoyed our gracious host, Barbara and her lovely family. Can’t wait to go back!!
